I tried Buffalo Trace back in August for the first time, I really wasn't impressed for $40 a bottle. I prefer Evan Williams 90 myself, Just My Opinion. Best whiskey I have tasted was George Dicklel 15 year old, single barrel @ $65 back in 2023, 👍
@@WhiskeyPop looking for the ones that have been commented since mine like, "tastes like dog bathwater" or "the whiskey is garbage" or people crying because they traded a Weller SR for a traveller. You know, every single comment so far. Nobody cares for this stuff at this price. Way better juice for the dollar out there. Around the same price you can get rare breed. For less money you get buffalo trace. No competition. If it's your jam, go for it. It is obviously not for everyone else. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Rare Breed in our area is around $50 and BT is definitely cheaper…but availability wise, good luck getting your hands on a bottle. What’s your go too for around that $35-$37 whiskey? Or better yet…what’s your go to around BT price if you can’t get it?
@@WhiskeyPop I'm near STL and can get BT for 30 or less everyday Costco gets about 10 cases a month and sells for 24 bucks until it's gone. Rare breed is 42 bucks. Slightly cheaper I like the green river stuff, especially the Wheated. Thin profiles but nice for the summer. Makers cask strength. Bowman's products. Still Austin. Heaven Hill BIB. Russel's 10. There's so many good options in that price category, that it's hard to charge a premium because of a name attached to the bottle - both distillery and singer - and think the name makes it worth so much. Proof is in the eating - or drinking in this case.
Believe or not in our region there are a ton of Special Reserve fans…hard to keep it on the shelf because Texas people come up and buy it off the shelf to sell it in stores in Texas.
I just found your channel. New subscriber and fan here. I’m also new to whiskey and bourbon so I’m enjoying your takes on what’s good and great.
Hey @chriscunningham5150 welcome to our little channel and subscribing! Also welcome to whiskey! What’s your go to right now?
Picked this up for second pour. Great whiskey i couldnt agree more
Thanks Wes! We gained a lot of Bourbon Karen’s on that episode!

Dang. I came to read the reaction comments to the title. Maybe I'll come back later.
Oh yeah? Looking for any specific comment?

@WhiskeyPop here too. Got a store pick full proof for 70 Saturday morning. People started getting in line at 4:30 am
You didn't talk much about it being a blended whiskey, nobody knows the actual whiskeys used, correct?
It's close to being a drain pour for me
this whiskey is garbage.
We’re curious…what is it about this whiskey that causes the garbage label for you?
fix that toof
Taste like dog bathwater.
