This is a great episode and 100% accurate. It is funny watching whiskey drinkers taste something flavored and sweet. You all are awesome. As a part of the Horns Down team. We are NOT whiskey. But we are a funny beverage that is exactly what we claim we are… use us as a simple syrup, pour a shot or add it as the secret ingredient to your collard greens. Thanks guys for the review.

LOVE the Black Barrel Jameson. To me, the nose and the taste is a lot like a vanilla wafer in a banana pudding.

About 4 years ago, I wasn't too keen on rye whiskies. I've slowly grown more open to them. 114-proof is probably my limit.

Great second pour review! New Riff's whole lineup is really nice - even the Single Malts.

am from Germany and its kinda hard as a bourbon/us whiskey fan, to get more than the standard stuff (Jacky, Jim, Turkey, Roses). Most whiskey stores here give you a smile or point to the lowest shelf when you ask for bourbon. But if its available, its available. Found a small store with Eagle Rare, Michters, EH Taylor, etc etc..people just dont care and it sits - good for me. Picked a Penelope Architect and this Toasted Barrel but havent opened yet. Never had a toasted before..have got a Michters Barrel Stength Toasted Barrel finish and this Penelope. Guess i am going to do direct comparisson soon. like your review style! cheers from berlin

I was kinda shocked to see it when I was out hunting Wild Turkey 70th Anniversary so I grabbed one. It's not bad. It's really good as a Lemonade per the recipe on the back of the box it comes in.

I scored it a "B" (good).

I tried Buffalo Trace back in August for the first time, I really wasn't impressed for $40 a bottle. I prefer Evan Williams 90 myself, Just My Opinion. Best whiskey I have tasted was George Dicklel 15 year old, single barrel @ $65 back in 2023, 👍

You didn't talk much about it being a blended whiskey, nobody knows the actual whiskeys used, correct?

I'm almost certain Willet Pot Still changed their malt bill a few years ago. I don't hate it, but it's certainly not something I replace when I run out. I don't know if I picked up toasted notes from the barrel, but there is something about the finish seems burnt to me. I don't think it's the ABV. Blanton's is a solid whiskey. I'm obligated to buy 7 more bottles, if you know you know.

I think I'll drink some Knob Creek 12 and 18 and take your word for it on the Sunshine Blend.

My dad collected whiskey bottles, but didn't drink any. Years after he died I tried some. The corks had all rotted, and some had evaporated. What was left tasted AMAZING! Very mellow, probably about 40 proof. It took a few years, but I drank it all, one sip and savor at a time.

This is the best whiskey bar none .pour it on coke and ice as well

Yes, it's okay to be wrong and learn. My advice is to keep an open mind and don't be afraid to return to a whiskey you did not like. For a while I did not like rye forward bourbons, now I appreciate them more than I have.

I just bought a bottle, and you are the only ones to not like it.
