    Just bought an RS 660 on Saturday. I absolutely love it! I’ve had two late model ZX6R’s in the past and ridden a lot of other bikes, and this bike is way more fun than any of the more serious superbikes. Looking into mods and I really appreciate this video, thanks for showing me what’s possible!

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you my friend! A lot of people get infatuated by engine power and neglect multiple other variables that can make a bike fun, comfortable, agile, and in turn make you faster as a rider on that bike due to the benefits that it offers. I was always faster on the RS660 than I was on any other powerful 600. One of my personal preferences on ergonomics is the upgraded triple clamp with clip ons. The stock handlebars are too tall for my style of riding and a must modification for me. You will love your 660 even more as you built it to your preference.✌️

      @@BillWong-c2e How much do you weight with gear? How many miles do you have on your RS660? What is your riding level?

      @@ALFAVITAGA 85kg. Zero. Collecting my Extrema within two weeks. Intermediate riding level.

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BillWong-c2e Based on your weight with gear, the stock rear spring will be able to give you enough preload before you start losing static sag. That preload will give you a good amount of rider sag for your riding level. Same goes for the shock oil and rebound. It will give you enough rebound clicks out from zero, for proper rebound. Now the stock shock suffers more on rebound than it suffers in spring preload. Spring is spring and spring rate is determined by the riders weight. As time goes by and you put more miles on your bike and you progress on your riding skills you may need a stiffer spring. But chances are that you will run out of rebound before you run out of preload. As oil degrades and your riding skills progress, you will find yourself being 1 or 2 clicks out on rebound. That is your indication of you needing a new shock. Start with the stock shock and set your suspension based on your weight. You will find that the stock shock does a fine job if set properly. Don’t rush to spend thousands on upgraded suspension just because people claim that the RS660 shock is bad. It’s not. It’s just not good for advanced riders that need stiffer spring for aggressive rider sag and a wider range of rebound or even compression that the RS660 shock does not have. Stick to the stock shock in the begging and ride it until you run it. I also have a video on my channel on how to setup the RS660 suspension if you want to check it out.

    I think for your headlights, you should get dark tint headlight covers from either fast bike bits or STP race products. I have the dark tint headlight covers on my ‘22 RS 660 and it makes it look much better.

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I could but it costs around $40 compared to $15 that I payed for the entire wrap that I can wrap more than one bike. But cost is not the major drawback for me. It’s the fact that the tint covers don’t come in black matte but only gloss. Also the lines don’t match perfectly to cover the entire headlight. Plus I don’t only want to tint the inner headlight but the outer also as seen on the video. For these reasons I prefer to vinyl wrap them. But if all the above were covered by this product I would definitely purchase it and save time in wrapping them. Thanks for the tip though. For some this product will be a better substitute to wrapping.

    That belly cover is MINT!!! My favorite exhaust on ANY bike is the CRT!!!! But.....I hate how it makes the bottom of the RS660 look so empty! What a great little part!
    When you did the mirrors did the up map change the signal lights to the headlights or I'm assuming you have the euro spec which doesn't have the signals in the mirrors? We get them with signals in the mirrors over here in North America

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in LA so this is the US version that gets the turn signals in the mirrors and not the headlights. When I installed the Upmap, Gabros map brought the turn signals in the headlights. The CRT is an amazing sounding exhaust. I think it can make a poorly sounding bike sound like a beast. But I also hated that gap that it left, so this belly fairing transformed the looks of the bike. ✌️

      Ohlins and other aftermarket suspension transforms the handling performance of the bike. But the truth is that not everyone “needs” an upgrade. The front stock suspension of the RS660 is pretty good to the point that most wont outperform it. The rear suspension is a bit of a discussion. If you weight below 190lbs with gear, then the spring rate will do just fine. The rebound oil is weak, that would give you about 6000 miles of use before it needs to be replaced. Also on team Pitbull. TBH the only stands I trust my bike to are Pitbull, Woodcraft, and Abba. Pricey, but will all last a lifetime and rock solid.

      By definition, most modifications are not really worth it financially and you lose more than 50% of the value of modifications if not more during resale. But we don’t mod our bikes because its worth it financially. We mod them because the process gives us satisfaction.

    I see like $2-3k of money mods. And $13,800 damn could have gotten a gsxr 750 and be much better then the rs 660. It’s not worth it spending on it. Only thing the bike really needs exhaust, tune, better suspension, and some protection and that’s it.

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on needs. For me the must have mods are: Exhaust, Tune, Air Filter, Stacks, Sprocket-gearing, Triple/Clip ons, Tank Sliders, Heel Guard, Tail Tidy and Belly pan cover. I wouldn’t go without them. Suzukis are amazing bikes but I prefer exotic. So I went with an RSV4. ✌️

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I have no official measurements to give you actual numbers, but I can tell you that for the size of its engine it does a pretty good job. It can keep up with 600s until it hits 120mph and it does a good job staying behind liter bikes up until 100mph or so. It has plenty of usable power.

      i think top speed is in the 140-150 mph ballpark for a stock rs660
