Thank you Michael, wonderful video and very relaxing music. My wife and I are looking forward to our first trip to Bakewell in May. She's very kindly treating us to a few nights away for my birthday, I'm looking forward to exploring the area. Look forward to looking at more of your videos.
Everything looks beautiful and majestic. Thank you for this item of serenity. I love that everything looks vintage and neat. Give me the fresh air of a small town over the polluted/congested large metropolitan any day. The music adds a nice feeling too.
Thank you for making and sharing this video! Exploring your beautiful English countryside, in my own chair in Holland! Perfect in these times of Covid. 🌷
Thank you Derek for your lovely comment. I do hope that they were nice memories, but I understand, from experience that some lost romances can be very painful. Best regards, Mike
Hi Debbie.Lived just outside Bakewell for 45 years but now in South West France. There is cycle track along the old railway line towards Buxton that is used by walkers.Find Station Rd just over the bridge and follow to top to find old Railway Station and start from there.Fairly level so easy going. Have a good time and must go back there myself sometime to catch up with old friends.
Thanks Julie, it's a nice place and a great market if you go on the right day. But don't call them tarts in Bakewell or they will correct you. They must be called Bakewell Puddings! Thanks again, Mike
I worked here before the start of this century, only for a few days, came from London, passed the crooked spire, I remember ' old speckled hen" beer, bakewell tarts as big as dinner plates, a very nice place in our wonderful united kingdom..
i lived here for 1 year in 1970 i was only 5 years old do not remember much of the place i may go for a day visit soon Is there any walks you know of where you can see horses in the fields thank you
Hi Debbie. I don't know the town well, this was only my 2nd time there, but as it is surrounded by fields, dales and farms, I would think that you wouldn't have to go far to find some horses. There are many walks, The Monsal Trail is very popular and covers the track bed of an old railway line(without the tracks) so is fairly level. There is an agricultural centre next to the car park at Bird Island, I feel sure they could give you more info about horses. Best wishes, Mike
@@hercmike I stayed in Bakewell for a couple nights in December and when I watched this, I thought.... Oh, I didn't see everything. I hope to return. thanks again.
Thank you for your comment Gra dy. We have packed a lot into a small island and you would be most welcome if you come to see it for yourself sometime. Mike
dubiousfella I saw people walking!! So the video qualifies as a “walk”. Didn’t your Momma tell you the rule about if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all? Hopefully you do not visit this lovely village....wouldn’t want you to be more disappointed 🥱

Hi Liz. They do say that if you really want to be somewhere, you don't let 5,000miles get in the way. Maybe one day I will get to Texas! Mike
@@hercmike well said... well said
If I went to the UK to visit I wouldn't leave. I've spent 42 years here in the US. I'm done.

The music is very depressing.
Less of a walk, more of a SLIDESHOW of stills. Disappointing!
dubiousfella always one out there☹️
