Radiator pipework and soldering copper pipes

- Asmr plumbing video on me installing a radiator on some fresh copper pipes!
I love using these pipe clips from Ecoclip as I can have my own custom pipework spacing to suit me! They keep the pipe off the wall nicely and allow to open and close the clips.
Easiest way to hang a radiator is work out the height of skirting boards. Come up an inch I always do then work out a distance that you want the valves to be above the pipework. Measure from the bottom of radiator up on the mark to the top of the bracket and you’re good to go!
Soldering these copper pipes in 90 deg fittings to keep everything looking uniform is pleasing to the eye.
Enjoy watching how I do it and let me know any different ways you do it!
This blokes a plumbing genius and is as neat as nine pence,Fair play to the guy he goes to the trouble of recording his work, keep it up mate don’t mind the hecklers.
Thanks mate appreciate it! I don’t mind them all part of it!
Ditto.
Never seen a rad marked out that way before! Great pipework as always 👍
We all got our own ways! Lots of different ways to hang a rad!
Nice. Like alot of people are saying in comment section there are loads of ways to plumb and hang rads as long as it is secure.nothing wrong with this way i would pay for that job all day👍
Thanks I really appreciate i!!!
@@mmplumber 👍
Use more then 2 screws
Soothing to watch good workmanship.
Glad you like it bro
Smart work brother, tho why I’m watching this after plumbing all day is a mystery 😅
I ask myself that every day! 🤣🤣
That pipe through the wall is full of dirt which could damage the boiler.
Tape the end before you push it through.
I push it through then get my lips on it 🤣
Tape or blow! He Chose Blow
Com certeza...👏👏👏🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
@@mmplumber 😆😆😆 get high off the inhibitor!!
Hi i just want to thanks you from 🇫🇷 because you are one of the rare plumber able to show a quick efficient productivity skill, amazing tools with a really estetic and operational results. i have 2 two observations regarding what i learned that :
1- radiatiors must be feed horizontally to increase the surface of exchange in order to get the maximum heat from the radiator. exept larger radiator than higher and high hand design radiator with different internal feeding.
2- you use i guess for practical and efficient reason industrial connector ( time and so monaie saving and effort) that increase hydraulic resistance. would you show us a classic copper pipe jump and a chipping on pipe that readuce at least in my mind connections and hydrolique resistance ? thanks and your content is amazingly satisfying
I'm not a plumber, so dont know to much but i am very impressed and would be over the moon if this was fitted in my house .especially after the rough work i have seen in my house Big up mate top work
Thanks mate!!
Enjoyed watching that! Subscribed 😎
Spot on work, always going to get a ‘I’m a professional plumber’ have something to say in the comment section 😂
Joke innit😂😂
Very nice job 💯
So satisfying!
Very nice job ❤
Not a criticism, more of a curious question… why do you cut ‘the middle bit’ out when fitting the tee - surely you’d cut once then just slide along?
Hehe I forgot I didn’t connect the radon next room so went ahead in my normal process 🤣🤣
👏
Nice work, as always.
Excellent work make it simple ,can I ask does that Wera Joker do 15 & 22mm nuts on fittings.
They adjust to different sizes and each spanner in the ranges only does specific size which are printed on side of spanner
The xl does 15mm the xxl does 15 and 22 👊
You are amazing man
Awesome channel! Can I ask you a few ques please:
1. What compound did you use & how come not white boss?
2. Is the orange stuff liquid PTFE?
3. How come you soldered instead of using the Novopress. Should you not use it for central heating systems?
Perfect video thanks!! So run pipes above skiting. So how high approx is bottom of radiator from the floor?
Abit of emery cloth to smooth up those rough edges from the powder coating on them rad unions before you wind in them bleed valves could stop any risk of you cutting into them orings. Just a small tip
Good afternoon. Tell me please. Do you use copper press fittings in your work with radiators? Why do you use soldering? Is it cheaper for the client?
Yes and yes depends on price really
Just wondering, did they ever import “Yorkshire” brand copper plumbing fittings into the US?
Yorkshire fittings had a ring of soft solder incorporated into the fitting’s socket end.
You’d just hear the copper tube (not the fitting) and the solder would melt and form a nice joint.
No additional solder was required. These fittings were available in Australia in the late 70’s and 80’s but I haven’t seen them around for a long time.
I used them with great success.
I used to always fit Yorkshire fittings they are the best in my opinion
In Australia we still use “Yorksil” fittings which can either be silver brazed or soft soldered.
These days I have to ask for “capillary” elbows or tee pieces as most of the young counter staff are too young to know what Yorkshire fittings are.
Keep the videos coming as I find it interesting the differences between how plumbing work is done in the US as compared to here in Australia.
Good on ya mate 😁👍
He’s an English plumber not in USA
Hello Mr. Plumber , thank you for that excellent video ,
Question , where can I
Get those ratcheting adjustable crescent wrenches ?
Thank you
Keep up the great content
Superb!
Those are some cute little standoff clamps for your copper. Where do you get em?
I'm assuming that there's a drain off fitted at the next radiator? Enjoy watching your videos and I've picked up a few good tips from you. 👍
Thanks buddy! Yeah it’s connected to a drain below with a drain point 👍👍
Not criticising but 2 questions
Why use a trowel and not a heat mat as surly the heat transfer through the trowel can damage the walls
And why have the pipes spaced that far apart
Great install tho nice to see a plumber clean his install
What’s wrong with the trowel? It still does the job tbf, I don’t see how it can be damaging if all the heat is being absorbed on the plate
@@louis_1up398 the heat transfer through the metal if that’s on a surface that can be damaged it will damage it a heat mat won’t
Not sure if your a plumber/gas fitter I am and worked with lots of people on many sites and never seen this done before but I’m always open to new tricks
@@mickgascoigne4003 yeah, I found it quite cool tbf, I mean. There’s also this metal attachment you can get that you put on the heat gun and it intakes all the heat it’s like a circular attachment and it’s 10/10. Used with rotherberger
@@louis_1up398 yeah I’ve got one a those but they are not in contact with the wall but there the trowel was
Just seemed dodgy to me as only takes a second for it to get red hot and damage what it’s in contact with
@@mickgascoigne4003 true, I guess it depends how much heat you’re using on the heat gun tbf, can u adjust obviously but get what u mean
Great video. I’m close to buying one of those Wera XLs. Are they worth it?
I think so it’s what reach for now!
Not the 24-32mm one, too big and bulky for my liking 🤔
@@danielbailey1452 I use the 24-32 more on installs like cylinders etc
Thanks
What's the brand of that ratcheting wrench?? Pretty cool piece of kit!!
Great job
What size Joker wrench do u use and great plumbing
Hello master, when you boil the pipe, does the inside turn black or does it remain clean
@mmplumber hi what is that spanner you are using on the rad valves?
Most likely " Wera The joker".
Can you explain abit more on hanging unit how do you get the measurements ? Please what is the fundamental ?
Can you please show the TOOLS that you ve used in this video ? I would like to buy them for myself. Thanks 👌🏼
He has a Joker spanner. Automatically adjustable from what I can see
Do you ream the pipe after the cut?
Cracking vid that buddy, I've been doing this for a while but love the trowel as heat reflector, majes soldering a breeze. Could I just ask what the threadlock liquid is that you use please and the abrasive cloth for cleaning? . Keep up the great work. Rob
Thanks rob! It’s loctite 577 for the liquid, 55 for the thread and today’s tools cleaning pads for cleaning! Not used wire wool in years! Appreciate you watching mate 👊
What type of loctite is that? I use ptfe & jetlube but yours looks much handier. Also I need that spanner 😍
Loctite 577 or the 55 thread mate dream to use!
The spanner is the wera Joker 15mm
Nice video, what joining compound are you using at the radiators and compression fittings?
Well done. Super Pro
No sleeving where pipes go through the walls?!
Neat job.
Wonderful
Yikes I think you may have forgot to flux the short piece on the horizontal. Regardless great video Im always picking up information as well as the assortment of tools the you use. Today one of those things was the tech screwdriver looking thing that was a pencil!
You are doing perfect job I wish I will be like you ❤
Thank you very much for kind words! Means a lot
Spot on
Thanks Bobby ❤
Tidy work. Going to try with push fit fittings coz I can't solder!!
How much should someone pay for installation of 1 double radiator? I need 6 new radiators installed so wanted to know please any plumbers out there
Great work but unnecessary with the lasers imo. Get those brackets measured and hung in minutes without it but you know what, it works so who am I to say otherwise. Nice work!
Best and easiest way to remove layers of old paint off a full pipe fella ?
Cleaning strips. Heavy duty ones that u rub on the pipe does the job.
I wish all pipes were elevated an inch or two more above the skirting board.... makes the skirting far easier to paint....!
All that craps just gone down your copper pipe when you shoved it through the wall. Shove a stop end it or a bit of tape .
Missed some flux on the lower elbow joint? 🤔
Please tape up pipes before running them in masonry walls 🧱. No debris flying around the central heating. Did you blow or vacuum pipes?
Whats that spanner called?
Bro that house needs some work done, hooooly!
Put 15mm pipe cap on the end of the pipe when you put it through the plaster board wall. No good having thousands of tools and clog up the heating system with plasterboard debris and dust…
All gets flushed
What brand are your scuff pads. I got some cheap ones online but they do snap after a bit of buffing out solder marks.
Nice tidy rad 👌
There from macdonaldplumbingsupplies pal todays tools
@@mmplumber thank you 👍

Thank you!

Where to buy ?
I’m digging the heat mat. 😂
Pro.
Il est où le robinet de vidange? Un peu bricolo non?
It’s connected to a radiator below with a drain point 👊
But i would of done it better😢and pipe dope😢 and wheres that spanner from😢
😂😂😂 keep up the good work
🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks buddy
The wrong tee on the supply. Should use a venturi tee.
You don't put the radiator perfectly level or the air won't bubble out to the valve
Весь мусор в трубу😮
А грат с трубы снимать не нужно что ли? Или я чего то не понимаю?
Can do if you like, such a small system it won’t matter but yes good practice
@@mmplumber I was going to ask about this as well because it's something I don't see many plumbers doing but the air conditioning guys always seem to do it.
One thing I've noticed is that the automatic cutters leave a much larger burr than the manual ones - A burr so bad it takes forever to remove. I've found that the Javac Edge Mini Tube Cutter (JAV-1010) works much better for this - It still has a spring so you manually set it to the "hard" copper setting and then just spin it like an automatic cutter. I've found that it leaves a fraction of the burr that you'd normally expect. I'm just an amateur so I can't say how well it would hold up to regular use, mind.
It's a very neat job you've done, btw.
Still solidiering with the valve in place despite everyone telling him not to...
Зачем вырезать катушку на лежаке после разметки , просто сдвинь трубу . Перерасход !
How disgusting is having pipes running on the wall... incomprehensible to see shit like this in Italy...
You should learn how to use pipe deburer unless you don't know what it is for, your video just show your unprofessional attitude
What a load of rubbish, if that's the only criticism you can come up with. Everything else about this mans work is exceptional and exhibits a high degree of professionalism.
It’s such a small system it won’t be affected mate 👍
What a negative person u are
@@Roblovesbushcraft he's a troll.
As a professional plumber I'd recover this. Pipe work is too high up and too far apart. Not even the correct way to measure the radiator distance for the brackets. I will to bet load of mistakes where made but not shown in this video.
He seems pretty competent to me and there are many ways to measure up a rad before hanging. As long as they’re level and not too close to the floor, it’s a success.
No mistakes mate, they are having high skirting and wanted the pipes above 1inch. 35mm center distances allows it to be so easy to work and cut the copper. For too long talons are used and they are horrible for a engineer prospective
Lots of ways to hang rads, do what works best for you right? As long as customer happy and system works well!
Great job, ignore the twat 😂
As a "professional" plumber , how far apart would you like the pipe to be ? Back in the day i would use the width of my spirit level as a guide and that way it would keep everything consistent.
What's that stuff you put in the thread
Loctite 577 for liquid and 55 for the thread 👊👊
0:13 you put the pipe trough the wall and as I see, you didn't do nothing to prevent dust to go inside the pipe.
I couldn't wach further.
So amateur....
👍👍👍
@@josephfelts6560 thanks bro
