He reminds me off Ma'a Nonu in that regard. Nonu also developed his game so much over the years to the point where he was the best inside centre of his time towards the end of his career.
Would love to see him doing some passes and play making, but I dont blame the controlled game plan that SA adopted having not played together in a few years. Imagine him spreading the ball wide to unleash all the danger men on his outside.

He worked hard on his offloading skill. At the beginning of his career it was frustrating being a Stormers supporter watching him run beautifully and then struggling to offload.
Yeah I agree. I also think it has to do with the gameplans of SA teams. You can see he has a lot more freedom when he plays for Munster and he proved to be very good on attack. The Boks just don't use him like that. The Stormers also didn't use him like that.
@@tasanalytics he has freedom at Munster because he has endless time and space. There is no rush defence. At stormers the outside backs were small and couldn't be relied on so he never passed to them

Jordan Hendrikse is a very good example, he was good at school but certainly not one of the top player, yet he came out of nowhere and is now starting flyhalf for the Lions (With a ton of potential). In saying that, the reason why I think Henco is such an amazing talent is because I love the way he plays the game. The way he organizes a defence and how he always looks work is great to watch, he honestly plays like a veteran. I also like how he's able to shine without getting the ball such as the Varsity Cup where he barely got the ball but made every bit of it count. Also when his team does not get ball on attack he makes sure he gets involved on defence and is always able to get 2-3 turnovers a game with his defence. To top everything off, the guy has no ego. TOP 3 inside center for me. I can't see how he would be better than his current contender (well, the WC trophy aside, not really down to the individual), but I'm not saying he's worse either. Henshaw is basically the same player, maybe inherently not as good but currently in the form of his life. Both are basically loose forward playing in the center, Henshaw is a bit more evasive while DDA is beefier, but they have basically the same playing style and strength, currently at the same level. And then, Fickou is in a completely different mold, clearly not as good in the crashball and other hard stuff, but much more subtle, very good animation/distribution, basically more complete, a jack of all trade master of none, but can do it all. All in all, 3 wonderfull player, pick the one that suits your style the most. And of course, Henshaw and DDA are very similar, since SA and Irish style are pretty close. But I wouldn't say any of them is dominant enough to be crowned single best in the world at his position.

The only part of his game that's "incomplete" is his distribution but that's because his teams dont use him as one Munster, Stormers and Boks slot their 15 as a second receiver before the 12
Nope, like Handre Pollard, he plays his best matches against the All Blacks. All Blacks used to beat us in the outside backs with big, powerful wings, but these days our wings and full backs can tackle them. Our centres have always been strong defenders.

@@6VITU9 He is better than Radradra, Am's rugby iq ,as well as his defense, is far superior to that of Radradra's. Just say you don't watch De Allende play,
@@areyoustillridingthegoat2954 hahahaha not even. Hahahaha Semi Radradra tackles Basteraud with ease.
@@areyoustillridingthegoat2954 you forgot that Radradra hasplayed against best 13 and made them look noob. You also don't know there are better 12 out there like Laumpe who can steam roll him any day, Botia who can smash him any day, Tuisova who can run over him any day and many other southern hemisphere players who can smash him anytime. They only won the world cup because they didn't meet All Blacks in the playoffs but he wasn't able to do anything when he played against the All Blacks during their pool matches.
A popular selection for the boks. Damien is a consistent defender. From an Englishman , damien is the best centre in the world . Boks have 95% of worlds best players
😆 not one clip from Province and Stormers. 👏
I try to focus on a player's last 2 playing seasons to keep the video between 6-8mins long. If I added the WP and Stormers games it would be a 20min video 😂.
@@tasanalytics I'm a Bulls supporter, hence I ain't mad buddy.
Definitely the best for the Boks - BUT made to look good/ordinary playing the All Blacks.
So do the abs when playing against the boks. Both very equal teams
@@unleashsenshi466 But the ABs are 9-1 against them? Makes no sense
Lol ask David havilli if de allende is average. He'll probably be mumbling though considering how de allende beat him out this past 2 weekends he got smashed
I actually dont think he is that good...but respect.
Shut up
@@aifesuwaukor4513 Thats my opinion....deal with it or dont deal with it...I dont care.
Immature comments like that may be original for you...but its boring to me.
How come you dont think so? He's a turnover merchant, a monster defender and can crash it up better than almost any centre. The only part of his game that's "incomplete" is his distribution but that's because his teams dont use him as one Munster, Stormers and Boks slot their 15 as a second receiver before the 12
Who do that statement, springbok media...best centers is from the land of the Silver Leaf
Nope, like Handre Pollard, he plays his best matches against the All Blacks. All Blacks used to beat us in the outside backs with big, powerful wings, but these days our wings and full backs can tackle them. Our centres have always been strong defenders.
@@dantewalters5209 well.how come you keep losing then? 3 from the last 20 mate, c'mon
@@joedennehy386 Yeah, mostly close encounters, though. The pendulum has shifted though and I predict that the Boks will beat the AB's more often now, as well as 1 or 2 other teams who can establish forward dominance. Let's face it, the Boks will have the stronger forward pack and gone are the days of weak defenders like Jantjies and Rhule who missed 23 tackles between the 2 of them in the 57-0 farce.
@@joedennehy386 The teams now are completely different. This is the time of the Springboks. Just like the time of the All Blacks between 2011 and 2018. There's always a shift in world rugby and who dominates. Mostly it's the Boks and ABs. I predict the Boks will beat the ABs in the next encounter.
Let's give the wallabies some credit guys..
They had Mr perfect and won back to back world cups
So I'd say change in dominance that stays in the south
ALB
De Allende is good, but even as a Munster fan I have to say Ma'a Nonu is better
He is a legend of the game, but hes hardly part of it anymore
@@longegg9892 yeah no shit what do you think happens when you retire?
He's not bad but saying he's the best is a bit quick or your own personal preference.. People like Jan serfontein should also be mentioned, there is also alot who already retired as well ...
With best, I mean currently playing as of 2021. He still has a bit to go to be considered as the best 12 for SA but if he continues his form for the next 3-4 years then it would be hard to argue he is one of the best 12's for SA
I used to love jan. But what did he really accomplish. Where is he now ?
He must stay hungry and not let vids like this go to his head...
I find it hard to believe he'll get an ego by watching a video, in fact, I doubt he even knows about the videos. You don't get that far by just having talent
First clip is hard to watch, awful defence
That's what happens when you have a centre that's as big as a flanker.
Grat video but eish the music is kaaaak. rugby videos need like thrash metal or something hard and fast
Unfortunately he is too one dimensional at internasional level. I blame the coach for it, he is a brilliant player & should get more freedom
I understand what you're saying but it's important to remember he has a very specific role in what he does for the Springboks, and he is darn good at it. But I don't think anybody can argue that it would be nice to see some more creativity from the Springboks. However I don't blame them keeping risks at a minimum in a series like the B&I Lions.
@@tasanalytics agree with you 100%. He creates a lot of space with his runs but there are times that he should just pass the ball to the player next to him. Imagine what Kolbe and Mapimpi would do if they can just get the ball a bit earlier
@@iea9677 Yeah I agree, but like you mentioned it's coaching because it's what he's told to do most of the time. Haha I honestly won't even be mad if we play Kolbe or Mapimpi at 10 just to give them more ball😂. I know they're both good with their kick chase but they're too good on attack to not get more opportunities.
@@tasanalytics yeah felt like whenever they got the ball in the series they were so dangerous. I was disappointed we didn’t get to see more of their runs.
Lol the best?? Your best not everyone else's.
Great player; no Fickou though.
Doesn't matter, he's a World Champion and that's enough
Bra De Allende is better than Fickou. DDA may not be to your liking because he does the basics extremely well and not flashy.
wtf is this song g 😭😭😭
Well, no.... He's not Robbie Henshaw
Henshaw can't lace De Allendes boots.
9 world cups
8 in Southern hemisphere
You have no credibility here my friend. De allende bossed the lions. Who is Henshaw. Did he even play
@@luqmanamardien5812 A big centre who uses his strength well. But really, Semi Karevu outplayed him v the aussies.
Can't say Ive ever seen Damian dominate against quality opposition. he is a big powerful brute but too often went missing in big games and until you have a quality passing and kicking game on top of and eye for a gap and the power running, im not sure you can make the claim for the best center in rugby today... can't even say there is a stand out atm.
disagree de allende is one of the best in the world but not THE best. NO ONE is the best at something in a team sport
How can these videos be so good and the music so consistently and truly awful?
Music and hyperbole. If those two things could be improved, this channel could be really excellent.
If an argument or a case is strong, there is no need to exaggerate. Exaggeration and hyperbole make arguments less credible not more compelling.
'The worst I've ever seen. The best. Etc. Sentences like that are almost always false, so just don't use them.)
(Not talking about exaggeration in this video but on the channel generally.)
Jean De Villiers was a much better no 12 than De Allende will ever be ,I am a staunch Stormers supporter and at present Jan serfontein is also a better no 12 than De Allende.i seriously think this guy is overrated. To even compare him to Jean De Villiers is a disgrace,Jean was a high Quality player .End of story.
Should change the heading.
Certainly an outstanding player but far from the best centre in World Rugby 😅
Losses to the Wallabies showed cracks in his game. Please correct this 😂
P.s All Blacks are going to whip the Boks next week unfortunately.
Hahaha
Yeah, almost as good as Ma Nonu was.
Music ruined it for me
BORING!!
Not unlike yourself....
Farrel is better
Love this video
Thanks!
