    ok sekarang ni aku plak nak jelaskan knp orng melayu pnggil char kuew teow tp bila siap order sampai yg basah.
    bnyak orng cina yg keliru dgn penggunaan bahasa CHAR disini..ada juga sesetwngah orng melayu yg x mengetahui maksud CHAR dlm bahasa melayu terutama orng2 bandar..
    CHAR dlm bahasa cina bermaksud goreng.manakala CHAR dlm maksud melayu kampung iaitu " becak@basah".contoh ' hari ni aku nak mkn kuew teow..timah wey..tp hang buat char (basah) cikit jgn buat kering cam hari tu..
    char juga merujuk kpd sawah,tanah bila waktu hujan..harap dgn penerangan ini tdak ada lg yg mempertikaikan perkataan char...

      Jacky Phantom Good to know, but at that price point and the reactions of the hosts, damn they’re sure not gonna recommend a shot of that RM43 to their friends. And I’m sorry if living in Singapore got me a taste of halal chinese style char kuey teow... even penang has some without pork and lard. Too bad I can’t taste them pork but thanks for your concern.

    • @zulfadlib26
      @zulfadlib26 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacky Phantom well not all chinese can do that. There are definitely limitations due to personal dietary requirements. It’s alright not having that full authentic taste, personal acquired taste matters. What’s really authentic and great for you may not get the same reaction from another person. Cheers and goodnight :)

    Honestly I used to eat so called CKT like the C one at one of well-known hotels in Malaysia. But looking at the look, it is more like kuey teow goreng mamak rather than CKT. The B one is more like standard kuey teow goreng sold at any food stalls or pasar malam together with cucur, keropok dan air tebu. The A one of course no doubt is original CKT.
    However, the malay version of CKT is more gravy and wet which not actually presenting the original CKT (mainly made by Chinese) but they keep on using that term because of attracting attention among the Malay customers only. the Malays many of them prefer the wet and gravy dishes. if I call it kuey teow goreng basah, some sellers still call it CKT but they are not wrong because the kuey teow goreng basah usually do not have egg unlike the malay CKT which contain mostly egg. But yes the problem arises because of the misuse of term.

    Cantonese char kuey teow was all my time favourite noodle! Those egg saucy tasted sweet and moist at the same time. Vegetables, prawns and lots of soft and moist kuey teow. I always go to bistro in AEON to eat this because they cook better than in arena food court but the price is pretty expensive. Also, I cannot eat at chinese restaurant because I'm a muslim and often mamak restaurant or any other malay food store didn't provide this kind of kuey teow.

  • @azztaffm1365
    @azztaffm1365 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Even from the look of it the first CKT looked legit and delicious. The most expensive CKT I paid was RM16 at a nice restaurant. It was worth it because it had tonnes of big prawns and the char hei was definitely there.
    To pay RM43 for a fried kway teow that looked like the one you can get from a mamak store is ridiculous.
