My daughter’s high school mascot is the ram. I’m going to have to learn to get good at these.
The rams head is awesome and you make it look so easy
All it takes is a little practice. Thanks Douglas!
Fantastic video ! Thanks.
Excellent. Very smooth. One day I’ll get it. Thanks
What a blacksmith !
Thank you Joe
nice job
Very nice, thanks so much.
I have watched a lot of Ram head videos and I really like the way you made the horns. It looks like a Big Horn sheep we have in Alberta, going too use this way for sure , thanks for sharing. Going too make the horn tip go just past the eye so it a legal ram and a keeper, lol.
Thank you so much Randy! We are very glad to hear you found this video useful. Thanks for stopping by!
That's awesome, you make it look so easy too! I will definitely be making one of these sometime soon, thanks!
Thank you, Jason! We'd love to see how it goes for you!
Great work thank you for showing us how the BOSS does it ! i must get round to having a go at one ,between metal detecting, wood carving ,painting ,guitar practise im sure i can get it in somewhere dam it ,lol
Work of art great video keep them coming .
Great video ! The best in a visual explanation so far thank you
Thank you for watching!
Hope you wear ear defenders at all times with that level of noise..😲
Love the head detail..👍
Very nice, thanks from Hannover Germany
You made it look easy , i think it would make a really nice door knocker for a farm or country house.
I've been struggling doing this with RR spike heads and was looking for an easier way. I can't wait to give this a shot.
Great work!!!
Way cool. Thanks.
Very nice work.
Thank you Jack Dawg!
Wooowww! Awesome job! 👍👍👏👏 I kinda laugh after you put the eyes, nose and mouth because of the facial expression of the ram he's kinda shock!😅.. all in all awesome!
We never noticed that before, but that's true! 😅 Thank you!
This would make a fnatastic knife or sword end. Awesome work.
I gotta try this. Thanks for the lesson!
Thank you worldtraveler!
Subbed just for this video
What soze stock did younstsrt with?
Красота!
Maravilloso , gracias por compartir
Very awesome visual lesson my boyfriend is an aries and will definitely want to try this is that just a cold chisel you split with
Thank you Nichole! The splitting was done with a hot chisel and the grooves in the horns were done with a small radiused hand fuller. Let us know if you have any other questions!
how long did it take you to make it? and how long are the horn
I think it takes me about 30 minutes to do the rams head. I split the horns about 2-1/2".
A bit different to others I've seen, I like the horns done this way.
Работа супер
Great stuff. Do you by any chance sell these?
Hi Joe, yes I can sell you one. Contact us through our website. www.www.kensiron.com/
When you fold the horns back, are you doing a weld?
I'm referring to just before you add the eyes
No, it is not welded. If you get the fold right you don't have to weld it.
Looks more like a bull than ram. I'm going to do one with horizontal slits for the nostrils and move the eyes more toward the side of the head. We'll see how it goes.
In 40 years ive never found a reason or understood why tap the anvil between blows
You ever thought about quieting that anvil down? Don't like wearing earplugs when watching videos.
Personally I like the sound a good anvil makes. I apologize that it bothers you.
Cool. But it hurts my ears.
how are you holding the iron while you hammer/split it??? . . .
I'm holding the iron in my hip. You can see a *very* brief example of this in our Rapid V-Bit Tongs Instructional Video here: th-cam.com/video/HZw40OyKbdA/w-d-xo.htmlm51s
nice video but lord put a damn chain around that anvil. it would drive me nuts!!! I had to shut the sound off
I don't recommend wrapping a chain around your anvil. There are much too many useful places for shaping and bending on the waist and base of the anvil to cover it up with a chain. As for the ringing, that's why we have hearing protection and a mute button!
Put a chain around the anvil. You gonna go deaf!😅
