Thanks for the video. As a student pilot training at a non-towered airport, this really had a lot going on with the intimidating ATC communications. This really helped me a lot. Thanks!

Glad this helped, it was easy for me when I started taking lessons many years ago because I was already used to radio comms being in law enforcement. Always remember that ATC thinks every pilot is a high time pilot ,it's just the nature of the beast. Always keep in the back of your mind it is ok to let them know on the radio that you are a low time pilot then they will slow down for you.

The correct answer is “honey, you’re right, I’m wrong, I’m sorry. Choose your tone carefully though. Do you ever have trouble with high CHT’s? The Dakota I fly in Georgia is constantly hot down low.

on a hot day,my cht”s are very finicky on takeoff only, I come back off the rpm at about 800 feet agl. then set my climb speed to 100 knots and that does the trick. during cruise my cht”s down low are anywhere between 385-395. Try different power settings and make sure you place a light under the bottom cowling, throw a blanket over the top while you crawl under the blanket. If you see very much light shining it very well might be the baffling needs some attention. what are your two hottest cylinders?
