    Literally they play this instrument in different variations from Macedonia to Armenia to Turkey to Lebanon people - calm down. It’s a drum with sticks, one of the most primitive instruments that you probably can’t really place to one peoples history. Just enjoy the music

    its not bulgarian its a balkan instrument the whole Balkan plays it

      Yes. And, no. The drum is played all over, but "Tupan" is Bulgarian. Other countries call it by different names- Daouli, Davul, and lots more. Thanks for watching.

      DRUM Percussion Studio Im Albanian and we call it Tupan. Its a balkan instrument its not Bulgarian.

      It’s Yugoslavian instrument 🤣 and we call it “ enjoyed the ddrum “

      They also call it a Tupan in Kosovo and Albania as well it’s not just Bulgarian

      This was a short little sample to introduce the instrument. There are probably some really good instructional videos out there. This Tupan is from Bulgaria, but there are similar instruments all around the region.

      A "switch" just meaning a branch, he mentioned from the Willow tree.

      I think you can use a standard bass drum and use something like a long chopstick to imitate the tupan/davul
