Those two fish were a spawning pair FYI and it might have been a more ethical route to focus on just releasing the fish you had and not messing with the spawning fish, but that's just an opinion of mine. Great fish either way, love chasing these big girls on the fly, nothing beats it.
Sitka Gear Fanatic , these fish were all still pre spawn - water temps in that stream were low 40s - if I’m not mistaken , the magic number that starts the muskie spawn across the county and continent , is 54-55 - I can see how you would think they were spawning as they were close to each other but that’s just a trait of this particular stream , the muskies group up in the best holes over the winter and you will often see 4-5 of them all together in one spot just picking off food as it moves down stream.

I am actually from the Northern Panhandle of WV and absolutely would love to catch a muskie especially on fly tackle out of a kayak, sadly I don't have a kayak that I can stand up on to do figure 8s and such, but it is still a sit on top. Definitely a great video, and what absolutely gorgeous waters. Pretty cool to see those two behind the canoe as well when you landed your fish.

I believe that line was scientific angler 357 - but I have since moved all my line over to airflo depth finder - and I would suggest airflow over SA any day . The 357 didn’t last long before it started cracking and falling apart .
80-100lb flouro bite leaders -> 40lb flouro break off leader -> Main Fly Line . All line attachment points are perfection loop to perfection loop knots.
I’ll agree I had a small net that day . But it worked , the Fish was landed , handled and released safely . Saw her a week later in the same hole . 💯💯👌🏻
