  • World Map Time-lapse of Paleontological discoveries (2019 edit)
This video shows chronologically where Dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals were found for the first time. A graphic timeline of the History of Paleontology of sorts. It might have a few outdated details because it was actually made in 2019. I was planning on making a new updated version, but the new one will have a different focus.

I have plans on making a new version of this ¨old¨ (2019) video, but it will have a different focus, so I decided to upload this one too. Besides some minor outdated details, it holds up pretty well. Let me know how many of you remember this one!
The new video chosen by Patrons will be finished next week! stay tuned :D

Great video, I really like your artworks, eager to see the updated one :)
A few things, I found the term "discovery" a bit misleading, as your are sometimes not using the year when they were found, but when they were described for the first time.
    e. g. Kentrosaurus specimen were first discovered in the years 1909-1913 in Tanzania, but described in 1915 by Edwin Hennig. Also in some cases, fossils, which were found years before were later described as a new species. e.g. Giraffatitan specimen were also first found in the years 1909-1913 and at that time described as Brachiosaurus. The description as Giraffatitan was way later in 1988.

The discovery in Egypt corresponds to the craze in archaeology in ancient Egypt at the time, so they we’re literally digging in the desert.

The ancient Greeks recognized the remains as bones, but assumed they implied the existence of the Cyclops, as the hole in the skull, around which attached the trunk muscles, was assumed to be a single eye socket....... Similarly, the protoceratops was the inspiration for the "griffin" with beak like eagle and body like a lion
