  • Witness first-hand the glory days of sport fishing’s past as you travel to some of the world’s most fabled fishing destinations. Come along with fishing industry legends and Rapala Founders, Ray Ostrom & Ron Weber plus Bill Cullerton - Rapala’s first rep group namesake with a supporting cast of others from Ray Scott, founder of B.A.S.S., Mark Sosin, legendary saltwater angler and fishing celebrity and the local guides that put them on some of the best fishing in the western hemisphere.
Filmed in the 1960s into the 1970s, witness a bygone era with trips from Alaska to the Amazon to the Baja and Costa Rica featuring fishing gear, tackle and boats from the fledgling days of some of today’s most famous brands that will make any collector swoon.
Created by Ray Ostrom, these films, from the Normark Film Library and the Estate of Norma and Raymond Ostrom, were used to share the excitement of fishing with fisherman across the country. Loaned to fishing clubs, American Legions and, on special occasions, shown as feature films at local Minneapolis Movie Theatres. Ray, an avid photographer and film maker as well as fisherman, was the driving force behind the concept and creation of this series.

It's amazing how many decades this guy has been performing in front of the public. He took the stage at 8 years old in 1958 and is still doing it.

2 years later in 2024 he's having a tour, fingers crossed hopefully me and my little girl get to go, she loves him more then i do I think and I got the ruger symbol with hank jr tattooed on my arm, with "whiskey bent and hell bound" under it. Kind of a crazy idea I had wish I didn't have the lyrics under but anyway. I have seen him once with Eric church in 2008 2009 I think. Cool cool show man.

things were a hell of alot easier back then just the old humming bird now there's sonar for sonar and google and all kinds of high tech distracting bs that keeps a man spending more time playing with his boat instead of enjoying fishing keep it simple and catch more fish and have fun !!

I loved my Garmin fish 13:15 finder. Had down scan, side Svan and traditional 2d sonar. As well as really good mapping. It was on the console of my boat and was handy fur finding schools of bass, striper, crappie and white perch on my local lake. Walleyes too in another lake. It was handy. I had a little 7 inch Lowrance on front at my trolling motor, it only had 2d sonar. I mainly only used it for water depth and Temps. But I did use it for dropping spoons, jigs, and shad on stripers, dropshotting bass directly under me, and getting right over top of schools of crappie and white perch to drop a jig head with a berkleyy gulp alive minnow down on em. See the fish, drop bait down to em, watch the bait go down, see the fish approach jig it or pop it, maybe dead stick it and bam you get em. It's kind of fun. They got the forward facing sonar s now and they're nice sure enough. Wish I had one. And an ultrex trolling motor with spot lock. Just can't afford it at the moment. But I'll have one 1⃣day. But I'm still gonna fish shallow water power fishing like I like to. And when I do that, your fishing cover and covering miles of Shore line with the trolling motor turned up casting and winding really. Nothing better than bringing a square bill crank bait by an old log or pile of rocks and feeling that bass slam it, or slow rolling a spinner bait in brush or trees and they lock the reel up. Or the best walking a spook back, or frog, or buzz bait and hear that bwooosh bass blows up wait for the pull then cross his eyes!!!!!! Don't get much better then that in the fishing world.
