Under 25 age and after 65 age , medications are also free with healthcard. Over 65 age, people need to pay $100 deductibles fir year and then every prescription is 4.11$

@@PrabhJossan Last year when I filed my taxes, I had to pay 644$ in case I had provincial health insurance card(without any claims), but since I already had my private insurance I was exempted from paying 644$. So I guess having provincial health insurance card has implications as far as taxes are concerned. That is why I asked if we should still double up on private insurance and also provincial insurance plan.

@@navjoshsingh2074 yeah I got it. If you have job letter that’s fine. But it depends Bcz sometimes they ask for work permit and sometimes they are good if you show them that you have applied.
