  • In this video, I break down the tape from Paris Johnson Jr.'s rookie tape. The Cardinals drafted PJJ with the 6th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and although his numbers from year 1 aren't incredible, relative to the rest of the league, he showed a ton of promise. I think he will make a big jump in year 2 and turn into a franchise tackle for Arizona.

Gannon just announced they are moving him to left tackle and see how he does in preseason. Sounds like it’s part of the longer term plan to cement him on the left while they keep upgrading the right tackle.

Man not to mention the guys he had to go against all year. Nick Bosa twice, Rams dline twice, Z Smith and Myles G, Montez Sweat twice, TJ Watt, Haason Reddick and the eagles, Will Anderson, DLaw and Parsons, And the bengals and Ravens have good dlines. Hoped we would've seen him play some left tackle at some point during the year. I still think he did great and I couldnt be more excited for this team.

OJULARI. He really broke out the 2nd half of the season

BJ Ojulari is a guy who should make significant progress in his development this year. Now that he’s had a year to bulk up and address his strength deficiencies I think he takes a big step forward as a 8-10+ sack player .
Another guy I really like with his elite athleticism who I think will benefit greatly from working with Nick Rallis is this year’s 5th rd pick formerly the #1 recruit in OLB Xavier Thomas who’s very athletic with elite agility/bend around the edge n very strong hands, also has a complete arsenal of pass rush moves in his tool box. I think he will be a much better pro than collegiate player n could be a nice 6-9 sack/year player who’s ceiling is even higher, he’s also stout versus the run and physical with a high motor that doesn’t stop. He has late 2nd/3rd rd tape n we got him in rd5, great pickup.

Considering the murderers row of pass rushers he faced I think he was exceptional once he settled in last season, he ranked as a top 25 OT over 2nd half of 2023 between WKs 9-18. And that was all despite playing at a RT a position he’d never played until he was drafted.
Year 2 I think he will be elite sliding back to his natural position on the right side and he should be a lot stronger after a year in a weight training program. After signing another top tier Tackle playing the right side in RT Jonah Williams and drafting two incredibly gifted athletic OGs battling to start at LG I think AZ will have a top 10-12 OL Next year in front of KM. Their line is loaded with talent.
I also really liked the drafting of RT Christian Jones landing a guy who should of came off much higher where they did, he’s a guy who can develop for a couple years b4 taking over starting duties at RT serving as a capable swing tackle in the process .

Did anyone notice that the “Most improved 2023 Lineman” in the 2nd half of the year were DJ Humphries & Paris Johnson Jr?
Hmmm 🤔, this wouldn’t have anything to do with…you know getting Kyler Murray back during that timeframe or anything 😅
Joking aside this dude should be beast mode this year at LT. Arizona has never had a great O-line and the new regime seems to prioritize the line along with the run game. Couldn’t be happier with the changes they made.
