Clean comedy is a special, most appreciated TALENT that won me over to attend yours, and a scarce few others, in-person comedy performances. I’m truly grateful for each of you, who write and deliver your fun and thought provoking performances.
Saw you gentlemen with Jerry Seinfeld in Toronto - all three of you were so good. Thank you for making the world a little less crazy. It was so nice to laugh for over 2 hours.
I love Nate bargatze he is the best but he is overexposing himself he needs to cut back on the podcast because he's just out there all the time and I know he's trying to make his way but he has made his way he needs to pull back a bit he's Overexposed I get bored of him I just want to see comedy I don't want to see variety shows I don't want to see podcast from comedians just go out and make us laugh the rest of it I could care less about and that's what Jim does
I’m going to keep saying it but the people who watch videos like this (or listen), are comedy nerds. We’re here for the minutia. We want to hear about the process. If you want a well edited show of highlights, watch late night. We’re here for the dirt.
I love both guys. Tom has a great laugh and he is a nice guy when interviewing. Tip for glasses wearers: use a dab of antiperspirant on the places where the skin and glasses are in contact. Stops slipping glasses@
I was listening to XM Radio comedy and realized how much you two sound alike. This reinforced that opinion. You both are so funny. Thanks for the laughs!
2 of my fave guests on your show are Jim Gaffigan and Bill Burr. After listening to them being honest for about an hour about their lives n careers, they're pretty normal guys. Guys who are funny without even trying. And I think it's because they're honest. You're a fine interviewer n thanks.
This was awesome!! New subscriber, but old time fan of you both! Love you comedy nerds ❤ the talk about your visit with the pope was so cool! Great interview, keep'em coming...I enjoy listening while I do chores and gardening, thanks for all the chuckles 😊🙌💕
We just watched Andrew Schultz in Hawaii. We laughed so hard that our stomachs were aching 😂 2 days later, and we are still high from the experience. Comedians are worth their weight in gold.
Great discussion. loved watching it. love the inside on the Al Smith dinner.my question to you Mr Papas 49:00 mark what is it you think Trump plans on doing to people that you can't talk about?
Yeah Trump may make a turnaround yeah he used to be a Democrat and he told the girls on The view Right out and out hired him to go to Republican like a puppet... He was excited and wanted to play it
What is killing streaming comedy is the explosion of streaming services. There's too many and its crazy. It's clearly not just comedy. All movies and series across all genres on these multitude of services, are out of control. How much do you expect of people, to follow you guys on your service hopping?
Listening to the 2 of you talk about Sedaris was great. He literally does what stand-ups do by performing while editing. Stand-ups do it for specials and he does it for books but you both think it is brilliant.
Shout out from Tennessee! Beautiful scenery, friendly people, delightful music, delicious whiskey, horrible politics. PS-- And yes, Trump is a performer. Nothing more, and a lot less.
Just so both of you know, in Australia & first saw you Tom on specials from the Montreal Comedy Festival. Actually, might have been where i first saw Jim too..... #feedback
Comedy is the truest expression of free speech (see Ancient Athens). Just curious, who does the many drawings on the walls at the Comedy Cellar/Olive Tree Restaurant? I enjoy looking at them every time I visit.
I live in Rochester and am listening to this going, "man, people talk about rochester a lot. It's sad how things have changed". Anyway, help me :), I'll work for you Tom Papa or Jim. Always loved your work. I'm glad you're poppin out these specials before the magats try to cancel ya.
As a Gen X er I found you on Netflix. I was watching Jerry Seinfeld and it recommended you. Your humor matches Jerry Seinfeld. Actually I find you funnier and more interested in the absurdities of life than Jerry. I hate social media and only view your podcast on TH-cam.
Just love this rapport. But, as a former citizen of a third world country...to see grown men comparing food protocols. Two dinners!! Really!!?? Where to eat..when to eat..how often...do I do delivery?? dive thru???. Talk about the sheer luxury of food availability in the U.S.A. Just mind blowin'.... plus....you guys handle it sooo well. It's not like two white middle aged comedy statesmen...but rather, brothers/tribesmen talking about shared agendas...nicely done....Bravo!!
Weird, weird world we are living in. We will always need court jesters😂!!!!! Show us how to stay real. May the creator and the creatives save our souls. Bless both of you ❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!
Jim Gaffigan you will never lose your popularity and I am speaking as a 60 something year old woman and my daughter who is 34 and her fiance and I come to every show when you are in Oklahoma but and I love Nate bargatze but with his podcast he is over doing himself and I'm getting bored from seeing him too much I think you've done an excellent job of spacing out your tours and you stay off social media in between I never watched your TV series I didn't connect with that at all but to be honest you pace yourself very well you don't overdo compared to Nate bargatze I know he's trying to make it I love him dearly he's funny but I see him everywhere and after a while you just lose interest where is with you I'm always curious to see what you're coming up with keep up the pace and we're not going to stop enjoying you but you continue to go away sometime so that we have a chance to miss you I think you are on the right track if that means anything Merry Christmas
Hey Tom, love you and the podcast but I think I saw a cataract in your right eye. Are you seeing ok? I think there's surgery to correct that. Just a concerned fan. Keep up the beautifully silly work
I wish the intro song was back I composed that one and the Theo Von one yes believe it or not I met Theo in 1998 That's the first time I'm paid for music since I'm 7 and I've never straightforward my parents siphon the money
Y'all are right: covid killed music & bumped up comedy! Maybe it's worth a try to have a decent band open for you? I'm dyin' ovah heah! Hello is this thing on? Check check. Try the LIVER
Look at this way: A century ago Al Capone, using the underground railroad & Borscht Belt, created a touring circuit to move booze during prohibition (which, in a way, was a viral opposite of covid! Yeah, I'm waxing here...). That circuit lasted about 100 years! Covid was the nail in the coffin that youtube, itunes & spotify etc started. If music doesn't have a sentimental gangster with good ears to save it, who will step up to the plate? There are literally thousands of young musicians popping out of the the schools every year, eager to play & learn, willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES. In my early years, I wouldn't go out the door for less than $100. These kids are playing for the hat like beggars. NEW music is teetering on collapse. The business model needs to be modified so everyone can make a fugging living.
PS: Louis Armstrong, before he became famous, made $100/night with the Fletcher Henderson big band (i.e. 12 musicians). The math just don't add up! lol
3D chess? As a comedian, jim should have known better than to reguratate a deplorable talking point Edit: kudos to Tom for saying I dunno what you're talking about
I can't afford therapy, so stand-up fills the void😂Thanks for peddling laughter.
Tom and Jim, my two favourite comedians talking on one podcast? what a blessing!!!
Clean comedy is a special, most appreciated TALENT that won me over to attend yours, and a scarce few others, in-person comedy performances. I’m truly grateful for each of you, who write and deliver your fun and thought provoking performances.
Comedians are amazing healers. You are two of the very best. You’ve helped humanity look at life differently - lighter. Thanks for what you do!
Saw you gentlemen with Jerry Seinfeld in Toronto - all three of you were so good. Thank you for making the world a little less crazy. It was so nice to laugh for over 2 hours.
If the 2 old farts from the muppet show would magically become human - they would be Tom & Jim. 💯😂😂😂👋🏻
Lolol
😂
I get paid more for my other intro songs which are now out on TH-cam but ask Tom to put mine back .. if you like it??❤
😂The Statler and Waldorf of Comedy!
Two of My ALL TIME favorites… Since I really started paying attention to stand up in the late 80s… LOVE YOU BOTH! Thank You.
This was one of the best chats ever! Could listen to them for hours more....
You are great people. Thanks for the laughs guys. Much appreciated.
This is one of the best podcasts around. Great to see two great comics just mellowing out in conversation.
It was a total delight to spend part of my afternoon with you guys -- adore you both!
I love this❤ I am recovering from a major head trauma, and listening to this is so helpful ❤
Hope you get better soon!
Jim Gaffigan, Leanne Morgan, Nate Bargatze … I can listen to them all day long!
I love Nate bargatze he is the best but he is overexposing himself he needs to cut back on the podcast because he's just out there all the time and I know he's trying to make his way but he has made his way he needs to pull back a bit he's Overexposed I get bored of him I just want to see comedy I don't want to see variety shows I don't want to see podcast from comedians just go out and make us laugh the rest of it I could care less about and that's what Jim does
Just saw Jim in Philly. What a great show. Cant wait to see Tom live too! Great talk guys!
This was great!
Perfect, seamless conversation. Thanks guys.
I’m going to keep saying it but the people who watch videos like this (or listen), are comedy nerds. We’re here for the minutia. We want to hear about the process. If you want a well edited show of highlights, watch late night. We’re here for the dirt.
It’s the asides I love. The offhand comment that makes me laugh out loud. It only takes one laugh and I’m showing up for all the podcasts.
Where's that beautiful intro song ?
Signed,
The composer!
Love these two comedians, they are fabulous!😊😊❤❤ God bless their spouses and families.
The nerd stuff is priceless!!! Thanks guys ✨✨
Great interviews Tom, subscribed 👍🏻
I love both guys. Tom has a great laugh and he is a nice guy when interviewing. Tip for glasses wearers: use a dab of antiperspirant on the places where the skin and glasses are in contact.
Stops slipping glasses@
😂
My two FAVORITE COMEDIANS together🤗🥳
You guys look like brothers...entertaining conversation.
This was grand
Love you two, love comedy nerd stuff. 😂❤
I was listening to XM Radio comedy and realized how much you two sound alike. This reinforced that opinion. You both are so funny. Thanks for the laughs!
Tom you need to do more specials!!!❤
2 of my fave guests on your show are Jim Gaffigan and Bill Burr. After listening to them being honest for about an hour about their lives n careers, they're pretty normal guys. Guys who are funny without even trying. And I think it's because they're honest.
You're a fine interviewer n thanks.
Great podcast ❤
Excellent conversation
This is such a nice show-I love it!!
Watched the special because of this channel + 👏 to health. Great work Jim G
❤love you both…. Merry Christmas
“Please say Juice…!” Almost made me fall out of my chair. 😆. Thanks Gents!
Love y’all!!!!! 🎉
❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂 way to make bread for your guests! 👌 awesome
“You get that clam breath” 🤣
I love these two! 😁
is that my exit music composition!!! Yay! Trees falling down in Florida watch to fix. I hope I can write everybody fantastic music end of my life.
It’s amazing how two comedians in conversation are so naturally funny.😊
Great discussion. loved watching it. love the inside on the Al Smith dinner.my question to you Mr Papas 49:00 mark what is it you think Trump plans on doing to people that you can't talk about?
Yeah Trump may make a turnaround yeah he used to be a Democrat and he told the girls on The view
Right out and out hired him to go to Republican like a puppet... He was excited and wanted to play it
I just love Jim❤
Jim finally went to an all Bacon diet!
Good!
I just gave up pork 😮
When Jim Gaffigan talks, I get the feeling he's going to break into a John Malkovich impersonation. He sounds just like him.
Being John Malkovich was the creepiest movie ever😊
What is killing streaming comedy is the explosion of streaming services. There's too many and its crazy. It's clearly not just comedy. All movies and series across all genres on these multitude of services, are out of control. How much do you expect of people, to follow you guys on your service hopping?
Exactly. I cannot afford to subscribe and pay for all the content. I feel like I am being used and abused by the system.
Yeah I sure wish quality over quantity was the money maker but i guess the general public doesn’t give a shit.
Instant download
great pod
I found you through "Live from Here". Miss that show.
Listening to the 2 of you talk about Sedaris was great. He literally does what stand-ups do by performing while editing. Stand-ups do it for specials and he does it for books but you both think it is brilliant.
Perfect!
Besides the buzzing noise the audio on this is great! Try using a power conditioner if you didn’t try that already 😉
Shout out from Tennessee!
Beautiful scenery, friendly people, delightful music, delicious whiskey, horrible politics.
PS-- And yes, Trump is a performer. Nothing more, and a lot less.
Tom--your last name means POPE, FYI. Happy Holidays from San Francisco. Just binged half a dozen of your episodes.
You can just grab a shirt on the way out? Great, I've got tickets in February for Jim. I'll be sure to grab a shirt.
Just so both of you know, in Australia & first saw you Tom on specials from the Montreal Comedy Festival. Actually, might have been where i first saw Jim too..... #feedback
Delightful ♡☆
You need to have Sedaris on the show.
Yes yes yes and YES!!!
These guys are always great.
….who did those drawings on the wall?
Jim you haven't been to Green Bay for a bit. We miss you!!
Comedy is the truest expression of free speech (see Ancient Athens). Just curious, who does the many drawings on the walls at the Comedy Cellar/Olive Tree Restaurant? I enjoy looking at them every time I visit.

LEEEEEEGENDary episode
I love Tom making it clear what Kill Tony is about. Papa knows
You guys need smoking jackets to wear in the cigar bar. That would be brilliant! ❤

Jiim back down to his Boilermaker playing weight.
TOM PAPA!!! ARE YOU WEARING KIZIK'S???
Weird, weird world we are living in. We will always need court jesters😂!!!!!
Show us how to stay real. May the creator and the creatives save our souls. Bless both of you ❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!

Jim going to Bern’s in Tampa 😅
Bern’s!!!!
Or steak & a show @ scores! Not sure if mons has a dinner service 😊
In Canada at least The Skinny is on Disney +
So these two aren´t the same person after all?
If they were to hold hands the universe would implode
Huh?😊
I love Tim and Jim but this sounds like the only profession that needs a year to produce an hours worth of work. Check out Josh Johnson.
They look like they could be brothers
Jim Gaffigan looks like the type of person that sneezes in his hand.
Not!
@ He did it in the video. You lose.
I wish I could afford to see Springsteen 10 times. I'd love to see him once but he's never come around to our little state of Maine
Nate has been around longer than Jim implies.
Guessing both trying to reel in their conservative audiences.
Tom: Chick-fil-A is fast food.
Kathleen Madigan fits in with you
I think that Hinchcliff kid is laughing at the wrong parts of jokes.
I'd be first but these two guys are such dirty comics I just cant
on comedy longevity, we use to go see band like YES or zappa in arenas. so comedy could loose momentum
doing fine just snuggle a snorlax or knoick the wake up MOVING
The idea that Trump has any forethought about manipulation or smart business acumen shows how much of a con man he is for Jim to believe it.
Am I the only one who takes notes when I watch this show?
Y'all are right: covid killed music & bumped up comedy! Maybe it's worth a try to have a decent band open for you? I'm dyin' ovah heah! Hello is this thing on? Check check. Try the LIVER

Weightloss meds are good for the environment. But BIG Restaurant collation will do anything to prevent making it affordable and the norm.
Jerry is for sure rubbing off on him. You can always come back but once it's overcooked it's overcooked.
Is this interview gluten free?
Ican't tell who is who here? I've always confused these two... now they're together... lol
Kill Tony is shit comedy.
3D chess? As a comedian, jim should have known better than to reguratate a deplorable talking point
Edit: kudos to Tom for saying I dunno what you're talking about
Problem with comedy is some (won’t throw out names) are charging too much. Other great comedians are $50 or less.
Gonna have to disagree with Tom that the system for promoting bands has broken down. Guess you guys never heard of THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW??
