- A mod I have been wanting to do for years! Finally decided to give it a go! I believe this will also work for WRX's of the same year, but not the STi's since they are 6 speed. I had a bunch of questions before I installed this shifter so I hope this video helps with any you may have!

Great video. Glad to see it required quite the WHACK to get it in place. (Done with a Kartboy shifter) I thought I was going to break something haha.
The proper way is to go under the car and remove the o ring but ain't nobody got time for that! Haha
How has this shifter held up? About to install an identical one in my 02 bugeye wagon.

@Zach Lush !!!!! I DID THE SAME THING TO MY DOOR, where I put the panel on, and couldn't unlock it with the key, or the fob, or anything like that. DO NOT BEND THE INTERIOR PANEL, all you have to do is pop the little trim for the handle (on the interior), then there is a little cover you can remove with a small flat head and that exposes a phillips screw theat you can use to remove the handle from the door, now you will still have 2 arms attached to the handle, the lock and the opening one. All you have to do is get a little punch, and punch out the rod from the lock mechanism (the one that shows if the door is locked or unlocked) that should allow you to take off the metal arm and manually unlock the door!

I have the same lights and they've worked perfectly without a single issue for over a year now, but because of the reviews I used a clear UV resistant wrap and went over the seams with another layer of silicone sealant before installing. They should be fine if you let them dry and then do that.
Happy to hear you've had good luck with them. After using them for awhile I found the condensation kind of went away. My only real complaint is the green wire that shows, and I persinay find the high beams are not very bright
@@zach_lush The green wires are only visible super close up on mine so maybe you got a defect, and I didn't expect them to come with bulbs at all so I swapped them to some LEDs I ordered. They look pretty good that way.

On the inside under door handle should be a screw pull it out and take off the plastic should be able to pull door latch

@@slowahhhroush I know I had to give mine a really hard hit. If you have too jack up the car and remove the c retainer ring. That may help you pop it in.

Hey bro. I just installed mine and i added an extra washer as well. But theres still the rattling noise. Its getting more n more annoying. Any other fix? Or im thinking of going back. Appreciate the vid holmes
No problem, only thing I can recommend is removing the shifter boot and going through the gears to check for what is rattling. Might need another washer, but could be something else.
Dude stop buying from eBay never trusted them or Amazon that's. Just me tho
All good, I've never had any issues with it. This car has been parted out now and I don't even have the shifter anymore. But it never failed me
How did you get seat warmers in the Impreza?
It can be a factory option
What did you use to trim the gasket because I’m about to install one

I assume this should fit on an 05 xt?
I believe so, but I could be wrong. I know I just did a short shifter in my 06 Legacy GT and it uses a different short shifter.
Doesn't look much lower than old shifter
It's the shifting length that changed, not the height. But even the height was a bit lower compared to stock
