  • The Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway is a tourist railroad and museum in northern Arkansas. Its trains run on 2.5 miles of former Arkansas & Ozarks Railway Company tracks, and they start off from the picturesque, historical station situated in a scenic switching yard complete with water tank and turntable.
In this video from the summer of 2014, we see an EMD SW1 diesel engine from 1942 pull an old Rock Island coach filled with happy passengers, but the star of the show has to be the 1951 Chevy that the railroad has converted to a track inspector’s car. We even get a “cab ride” in this unique vehicle and an explanation of its features.

The late 1980s was the heyday for this tourist railroad operation. It has never been the same since steam stopped running.

I bet life was better before airplanes and interstate highways.
I loved technology, however the last 10 years have really shown the dark side of it!

No doubt about it, technology is okay if it creates a better environment but I do not believe that faster, quicker, sleeker has created a better place for us.

I went there 20 years ago with some friends... The steamer was just getting done with a run up and back , talked with the engineer as it was cooling down... Sad to see it is parked, but boilers need regular teardown and rebuilds... The Inspector car I thought did not run... They must have wrenched it back to health... Neat to see that rolling.... Went on a dinner excursion to the end of the tracks, fine 4 or 5 course white linen prime rib dinner at a good price.... Walked around the yard and checked out the old rail cars.... Funny how the old cars had restrooms with a hole in the bottom so it just dropped on the tracks as one went.... Great yard, good to see they are still rolling.

At over $200 a night they probably died when they saw the bill 😄
You want the real haunted experience you gotta hop freight trains and find the real spooky, really abandoned places, there are all sorts of huge spooky places you can't find on the internet 👻 🚂
