how i only stumbled into this channel now, I'm watching all the videos regarding interviews and javascript and you do such a good job of actually explaining from experience, if i manage to land a job this channel will definitely be part of the reason why!
Absolutely clapped when you used an object map for the second part, it would have been great to hear the "CS" explanation as to why that's a good data pattern "O(1) lookup, etc" for the junior engineers. Question about using a const sortedArray with a for in loop versus Object.entries(totalCallsPerPerson).map(). Is it perf? Cleanliness? Ease of reading?
Watching right before bed, relaxing video & simple overview of Array.map Array.reduce Array.sort & Array.filter! The trickiest stuff for me is always dealing with object structure (I completely forgot about hasOwnProperty), which gets even hairier when you're working with immutable objects.
Can we use notes during a junior frontend interview? What if I understand all of this but I need to look at my documentation, code snippets, or written explanation to help explain what I am doing.
Really great video. I'm gonna have an interview this week and I'm super nervous. When I follow I understand everything, when I have to do it alone without my notes I panic. 🤞
I love how at the beginning you said that they would likely give this type of assessment over a leetcode one. I wish they'd do that for all levels. Wishful thinking, am I right? I'm a senior Frontend dev. I'm starting to wonder if leetcode is the only way up nowadays. Some companies have done straightforward JavaScript tests which is fine.

Not gonna lie, those are tough for me too but it just takes a bit of practice and seeing it for it to start to click

Leetcode isn't a 100% requirement like you said and some companies that aren't necessarily in the tech space won't ask them, but it's good to prepare
