- So todays episode is a one of two episode in updating the C8 Corvettes Engine Bay to really round out a good show car finish. This first episode is focused on the engine cover and transforming it for less than $35. And the best part is that its completely reversible if I decide I want to go a different direction. Enjoy Guys!

What do you think of this Engine Cover transformation? Comment below!
I'm intrigue by your talent watching your videos!!!
Thanks bud I truly appreciate it! 🙏😎👍
Looks good - they sell lettering kits for the engine cover on ebay in different colors - I think it would be a nice touch 👍
Thats a really good idea I completely forgot about! Thanks Steve! Ill be looking into it! 😎👍
Wow youre very talented nice job 😍👍
Thanks bud very much appreciated! 🙏👍😎
Really Great Video!!! Two questions…(1) What products did you use and in what order to clean and ready the paint job?? (2) What heat gun did you use to lay down the carbon fiber sheets?? How soft was the material…What plastic instrument did you use to get the fiber into the grooves??? Thank You…Dr Bob
Hey Robert thanks for the comment. So the dip products themselves you can find via dipyourcar.com. i used a general autocleaner first (any waterless wash will do) then went over with basic rubbing alcohol to prep the surface, then applied the painters tape to the spots I had wanted to keep oem, and then finished another round of rubbing alchohol to be certain surface. The heat gun is honestly a generic one from harbor freight. Any heatgun will work though just work in small sections. Then the plastic tools are a generic brand of vinyl tools you can find off of amazon. Ill try and put links in the description but thats the basics. Hope it helps!
LOOKS GOOD.
Thank you Izzy!
Looking good man!!
Appreciate it! 🙏😎
Nicely done
Nice i like it all but the carbon dosnt match in the same direction
Plastisdip on engine cover? How much heat can it take?
@@tilligetbig surprisingly alot actually. So long as the prep and application is done correctly, it will keep well.
did the wrap not melt? on the hot engine...
Hey thanks for the comment. Actually its held up really well. And your talking in hot TX weather too so far.
The only cover that looks right is a red cover since the engine has red valve covers. Sorry.
