You really have to know your tennis to know what Murray is referring to. In the finals of 2012 Queens, Nalbandian kicks the small enclosure where the lines person is sitting, out of anger (a bit like the Djokovic US Open disqualification). Unfortunately, it's made of wood, splinters apart, and injures the linesperson. He's disqualified and the title goes to Cilic. Because it's the final, he has to sit around and give a loser's speech on top of that.
Yeah tbf, the attempted pass Novak makes is worthy of praise… it’s bouncing high, Novaks sliding low but he somehow manages to get his wrists over the ball to get some dip on the shot, and hits the angle perfectly… crazy skill and athleticism
@@sdstewart87 what are you talking about? Highlighting Novaks brilliant shot (as Murray did in the video,) only elevates Murray’s handling of it. Plus, nothing wrong with recognising ANYBODY’s great shot. The f is wrong with you?
I think he matured becouse he didn't seem to be very humble on court with his celebrations and face expressions. But he hasn't been on top for a long time I think It helped him to become more humble
I’ve noticed how tennis players have a very different view of the shots than us fans. They openly admit what’s lucky vs what requires a great skill while fans often swap them around. It’s quite cool to listen to their insights.
@4:51 Andy spitting such good knowledge here. Feel like these moments built from experience and adversity would make him a terrific coach. Love love Andy!
It's so interesting to hear what Andy has to say about his opponents and their skills, details which we tennis fans don't always appreciate! Andy is so modest and likeable.
Absolutely fascinating - the knowledge, experience and humility that's contained within those 6 minutes. What a class act, and one of the very best of all time. British sport, world tennis and sport in general all owe Andy a massive debt.
That’s Andy… impressionists LOVE teasing him about his voice. Happy? Sad? Same voice… and to be fair Andy is such a good natured guy he takes the teasing as affectionate, which it totally is. He really seems a terrific guy.
@@ddjr6673 Yeah, I think a lot of people misunderstood him earlier in his career and had the view of them that he was some miserable, dour guy. I'm glad that that turned around cause I find him really likeable, so it's nice that he became much more broadly beloved by tennis fans, particularly people in the UK who believed a whole load of nonsense about him early on.
@@jonathanb1406 Totally agree - he is also ‘judged’ by his actions - always supportive of others, speaking out against casual sexism, and looking after players welfare.
@@ddjr6673 Yeah, I think there's no coincidence that Murray seems very well liked not just on the men's tour, but the women's as well. Just seems an all round good human being. I'm sad he's not able to go out and play singles at Wimbledon one more time, but he's had a great career and is a credit to the sport. Legend.
To "do a David Nalbandian on someone" is the highest level of violence imaginable lol
It's basically stating an intention to murder
laughed out loud

@@tennisCharlzz I think all the people who liked the comment got that, man
@@tennisCharlzz Thank you for the context!
Andy is so humble that he was praising other players in his own highlight reel! Absolute Class from Murray.

@@Milkydrummerso it's a Murray appreciation video and you make it all about Djokovic. Good job 🙄
@@sdstewart87 Murray himself made it about Djokovic.

Man I’m going to miss watching him play. What a fighter!
The best part of this is Andy being able to articulate just what makes Novak and Rafa so rough to play just within those two highlights.
And yet he beat them both, but doesn't blow his own horn here, but he was considered one of the big 4 by the other 3.
Nalbandian catching a stray bullet from Andy lol
I nearly spat my drink when he casually said that 😂

He would make an incredible coach.
Always love hearing Murray talk about the game. So chill and insightful.

Andy in his prime is one of the best drop-shotters ever imo.
I used to do it a lot in junior competitions because of him haha
I like Andy, the man and the player.
No lobs?! Criminal.
I loved those half volley pick ups Andy did. Some of the best hands in the game
Andy is such a class! Love him.

Vs. Tipsarevic dubai 2010 or 2011 was still his best wall mode stand-alone point

Love Andy
Always praising his opponents even when winning the point himself

Can you guys remove the close caption? If users need it youtube provide an option for that.
Where the heck is his Rome Championship point against Novak? As hot as any shot i have seen from him!
The Nalbandian comment so casually mentioned. I bet a lot of folks won't get that one...
this video shows way andy murray and novak might be a great pair going into 2025
Almost did a nalbandian on him 😂😂😂
Deafs/ESL are perfectly capable of hitting the subtitles button. You don't need to force them on everyone
I would love if Sir Murray spent some post-retirement time in commenting on matches!!!
murygoat
Thanks for the subtitles. It is so hard to understand Andy, his voice is so robotic now that he has become a cyborg knight.
They should be in the CC area though, so they can be turned on or off.
Does he have any highlights of him hissing and cussing at his mum?? Those were my favorite
Plenty of highlights of him scuttling your mum
like this kind of relax content
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
if you close your eyes and listen you wont know the talk is about tennis or cricket with the accent.
Why is everything so monotone 😂
