My whole time on swathers was the Versatile with the 4 cylinder air cooled Wisconsin engine, truly amazing little engine and always ran great but you sure had to be careful with those Versatile swathers they got stuck so darned easy it was crazy!
@@peterloewen3201 Peter the larger tires would have been wonderful to have, ours had small skinny tires and the machine was so light I could get stuck in 2inches of mud. Then it's walk to a tractor to pull out the swather. I am not sure how I could have been so dumb as not to try different tires?
Sorry for the slow response but I looked back at when I took the videos and don't have a model number for the header - I can't seem to get a model # off the side of the header. Sorry
There were some minor adjustments you could make on thise old machines. Canvas speed was one. On some you could insert an additional short Canvas to narrow up the swath. That Canvas insert would often cause problems Wasn't much
This was a good video to see.The older equipment still cuts good, I still have a Versatile 400 with a crimper and a Massey Ferguson 36 with a crimper.
I still use two 400's with crimpers and also still have our Massey 36 with a crimper.
Nice old vintage machines 🚜👍👍

We had a CCIL with that same engine. It had large tires and was pretty good in muddy conditions

What is road allowance?
I had a 550ccil. It was 26 feet, and had a Belarus diesel. I traded for a 200 Massey . No regrets lol
What is the model number of the hay krimper on the 8820
