If I remember rightly, Sister Ray moved to the opposite side of Berwick street and so did So Hi Soho. I worked in Soho from 1997 to 2006, good times, safe and fun.
Alas they wouldn't let you film in there. There was a strict no filming or photo policy, if you tried, they would physically confiscate your equipment.
@@zeddeka yeah you are right 1996 summer weather wise wasn't that great the previous year 1995 from what I can remember was a really hot 🔥 summer 🏝️ and one I will never forget was out in Clapham common most of summer 1995 still a teen back then hanging out with friends having water fights with the girls around the area good times.
Worked as a postman in London soho in the 90,s. Loved it. Soulless dump these days
Great video... been living in Soho the past 12 years so good to see the place when I first used to come here. Lived in Medway too in the 80s.
I was there that month. . It was in Berwick Street at the King of Corsica pub that i watched England beat Spain on penalties in Euro '96 (22 June).
Yep, great vibe that summer with the Euro '96. Old Oxford St was amazing, all soulless now.
Wow. Amazing footage.
I used to spend hours at record shops in Soho!

I miss this place.
So wish you'd have gone into HMV! What a mecca that specific store was. Same with the Virgin Megastore just down the road.

2022: You want 'hot'? ...I give you hot 🔥🔥💯🔥
What Fort is that at the end?
I remember this was a hot summer
It really wasn't. We had some of the worst, wettest weather in 1996. Look at Wimbledon that year - rained out.
