My husband is a trucker and I would love for him to have a Volvo Truck, their much bigger than his Peterbilt.
Peterbilts have better resale value

Peterbilt classics are better for resale.. the Pete fleet trucks are garbage, long live the Volvo VNL 860
The Volvo gets 7.5 to 8 mpg. The Pete's get 5 to 6. The saving on fuel over 4 years will more than make up for resale value. I have a friend who is a o/o with a 2010 Volvo with a million miles and still going. Gets about 7.5 mpg. Plenty of room. He stays out for 2 to 3 months makes the money. Who cares about resale if you can keep the truck for ten years.
@@kingmike40 I've driven Freightliners, Volvos, Macks, Kenworths, and an International in my 3 year career so far. In my experience, the Macks and Volvos had the most problems in the time I drove them, which was a shame cause Mack used to be a good truck manufacturer before Volvo acquired them. From engine problems to electrical issues on trucks as new as 1 year old, I didn't have any luck with them. I wasn't in freightliners long enough to speak to them. Kenworths were good to me. I'm am owner operator now and I ended up going with a 2006 international with a c15 in it. I think they're a little bit subpar to the kenworths for a variety of reasons, albeit not by much, but way better than the volvos or macks and I think you get a lot of value for what you pay. But I'm not all knowing, and I'm sure experience differs from person to person, if your friend has had great experience in his volvo then I'm glad for him, the goal at the end of the day is to make money, it doesn't matter what you're riding in

Lonestar is badass loved it..volvo is also outstanding..
The volvo looks cool .but Scania is the most dependable in any environment...only Scania trucks last longer in difficult roads. all the others are built for asphalt roads. Scania is a beast in any kind of roads. That's why most countries prefer it. Next is Volvo. Then Mercedes. .

For everyone saying they need a driving job because trucks have beds and utilities I’ll let you know now you’ll barely ever get to use any of it. No “enjoying a meal peacefully”, or anything else peaceful. Doesn’t matter how luxurious the features are, you’ll feel just as primitive taking a dump in a plastic bag with your back against the refrigerator in your cab as you would feel doing it in a 10 year old Freightliner..

I have observed that all heavy vehicles are creating a lot of pollution.
In general all vehicle's silencers are horizontally arranged 2 feet above road level.
So the exhaust fumes are directly pointed at a person's height. This is effecting both the padestrians and two & four wheelers.
And road side dust is also thrown at the people and plants.
My suggestion is all heavy vehicles silencers to be orianted vertically, (similar to tractors silencer), so that smoke is exposed to the open sky, thereby padestrians and other commuters are not affected by dangerous exhaust fumes.
Kindly research on this issue.

When they say replace your home that's exactly the truck I have in mind and yes they may take quite a bit of fuel but you better believe you'll be well rested and less fatigued overall.

Totally left out Pete's here. By far my favorite to drive and extremely comfortable. No cabovers 🤮😂. All that extra noise. Also underpaid is a joke. Most professional drivers take in close to 1400 a week in the states and that's on company dime.

I am surprised. How the Kenworth W900 wasn't included? It has an 86 inch sleeper cab with more storage, than in any other of these trucks, and a sofa, that folds into a huge bed.

marie watson a base model 2017 International Lone Star goes for $140,000 the way the Harley Davidson model was specd was only available in 2009 and sold for $175,000 in US dollars.
The Kenworth and Volvo are basically fleet trucks and sell for about $135,000. Mind you those are bare bones models not including federal excise tax 20% and sales tax between 7%-10% depending on the state you purchase it in.
Underpaid drivers would most likely be getting day cap Peterbilt 579's.

Actually I'm a diesel mechanic I worked for a kenworth dealer and i worked on mack kw peterbilt international Volvo Chevy ford and as far as driver ease the Pete 379 is better its got a much better turning radius than a lonestar, KW W900, or really almost any truck out there also freightliner cascadia are good and so are western star
Yes the W900 turning radius is terrible but it is a very nice truck. They are comfortable.

The 389 is built on the W900 frame. The W900L has a surprisingly sharp turning radius.
