Are we counting O’Malley jumping submission as takedowns for Yan? I thought Sean’s defense from his back and get up game won him the fight. Defending and working your way back up to your feet is a big win in the grappling exchanges
yeah i wonder why, oh wait no i dont. sean was blatantly putting his fingers in yans gloves preventing ground strikes. not to mention the 4-5 fence grabs that went unnoticed by the ref. ( btw i had sean on a parlay so im not biased in the slightest. just what i noticed rewatching the fight 2-3 times)
@@ElijahW_ yeah yan couldn’t because sean had his fingers in yans gloves. rewatch the fight he blatantly cheats multiple times. i had sean in a parlay so idc, i won my bet. yan won that fight even when sean was cheating. not to mention he wouldve got about 10-11 takedowns instead of 6 if sean didnt grab the fence 4-5 different times. oh and yan shook off an eye poke in rd 1 instead of having the ref stop for a break. yans an absolute beast, i feel bad for his next opponent because i guarantee he wont be satisfied w a decision
@@yourmumsahoe1 I did see him grabbing the fence a few times and def ngl as a Suga fan I’m happy he won but was def expecting them to call Yan’s name post fight based on the takedowns alone jus from the scoring side. Hell of a fight, regardless of fingers in the glove or grabbing the cage, Sean put some bad ass damage on him and both put up a great fight. Also good shit on hitting that bet tho 😂 W
@@ElijahW_ yeah he forsure is the real deal, a true mixed martial artist. glad he shut up alot of haters thinking yan would run through him. i just feel terrible for yan lol, i feel he won and without the cheating i feel he would’ve definitely won. either way it was a great fight like you said!
I don’t get why all of a sudden we are discrediting take downs. I mean if you take someone down and hold them the whole fight but don’t inflict much damage you’re still going to win. So it’s kind of nonsense to say oh you didn’t do anything. Then why even have takedown defense as a stat? Takedowns should count. Takedown denied should count. It is a skill set that is different than general grappling on the ground. I’m a huge suga fan as well. I thought he won the striking battle for sure but it was close. Yan had takedowns and ground control. It was a split decision and rightfully so. It really could have went either way and I wouldn’t have been upset.
Suga did more damage. Yan had more takedowns. In real fighting, Suga gets it for sure. But in UFC judging standards, probably should've went to Yan. idk. Either way it was a fight of the year candidate, and we win as fans
Can’t leave it in the judges hands
these two are pretty comfortable together 🤣

Was a close fight . I had it for Yan. But Yan didn't do enough to complain. Literally held him done and didn't strike

Facts bruh Yan is a beast but didn’t do shit when he got Sean down. Suga’s striking and damage to Yan is what won him that fight

Sean normally doesn’t run his mouth after a fight. He is usually pretty stoic after his fights.
that's why ONEs scoring is better for mma
How does that work?

I thought Yan won at first to but after looking back at it and the stats and what all happened Suga for sure won that fight
