O’Malley did not win round one, there was many take down in round one as well. I feel like the judges here don’t give much credit for them. I was hoping Sean win but not like this.
The facts that Yan put him to the test, will now only make Suga look closer to making himself better. We have yet to see how good he actually can be. Good deal Suga, learn from these close ones. 👌
I know what you mean but he was saying "they kept saying they should kick my legs, than they should try to take me down" Petr did all that, still won. It could've gone both ways imo, the takedowns by Petr didn't do any damage, Sean scored more point with jabs and legg kicks. He got my respect for sure
I believe in the rules that the UFC has been discussing, damage outweighs takedowns because takedowns don’t mean much unless submission attempts/ground control are involved. Ground control was technically involved, but no real ground n pound or submissions were really implemented by Yan. Basically alot of scrambling on Sugas part. I think ground control SHOULD be used as a sort of tie breaker for folks who don’t damage each other, but the problem is that Sugas striking damaged Yan pretty good. I believe Yan got outstruck down the stretch.
Strike numbers don't tell the story, O'Malley was flicking out jabs that were barely landing and also just tapping at Yan in round 3 with kicks, other than the big knee. Everything Yan landed was vicious wether it was leg kicks or body kicks or big punches, plus he had the takedowns, including a big slam in round one, with some GNP. Not a brutal robbery but definitely feel like Yan won, close fights can have a clear winner but O'Malley at least showed that he is right there at the top of the division regardless, just worry for him against Aljo that's like the worst matchup possible.
And for the record i would’ve given Yan the win but y’all acting like the judges don’t get it wrong 20+ times a year considering every fight on every card. Again, y’all proudly holding up a clown college certificate
Considering his huge jump in competitor, he done very well. Khamzat vs burns is a good comparison when it comes to ladder jumps, and we saw what happened there. Khamzat was made to look human. Suga done better than that, but I think aljo wrecks him. He still has a long way to go.

@@simmahdwn482 He lost do to takedowns....scoring high for takedowns when no gound&pouned or sub attempts is kinda gay to be honest....but he is the only fighter that put Yan in deep waters.....should've been a draw.
@@obijuankenobi420 ya sure. A draw would have been fair. He put on a great performance against petr. Pretty sure they rocked each other equal time.. just didn’t see sean win (neither did most fighters I’ve seen react to it) can’t leave it to the judges these days as triple c said
Suga’s chin was the biggest surprise for me, dude took some heavyyy shots. Respect 👊🏽
This fight just proves how little ground time matters if you do NOTHING with it. You have to completely control, transition, and throw strikes for your ground game to matter. Sean got up fairly easily from Yans takedowns. There wasn’t much struggle from Sean vice versa there wasn’t dominance on the ground for Yan. If you get to the ground you have to dominate or it’s useless. Yans undeniably amazing but he hasn’t been finishing these guys he clearly has a skill gap on. I personally think he’s better than Sean and Aljo, he’s just not finished people as of late.
I wish it was always like this. Guys will take down someone because they can’t stand with the opposite and then do nothing with it but they call it as “controlling the fight”.
Did you see the knockdown Petr did in 2 round?
Yea you've got a good point. Lying on top of someone shouldn't count for much.
Mate 6 minutes of control time in a 15 minute fight and you’re saying Sean got out of them easily 😂😂
The judges gave him that 2nd round dummy
He lost this fight but completely won if that makes sense, Yan is a BEAST would love to see 5 rounds

First time I've ever really given him the time and I can say I'm impressed. He's been on a tear and going toe to toe with Yan is saying something. I like how he doesn't want to compare or speak on the fight until he's watched it. Respectful and mature
Major props to Sean
I really struggled to like this guy before tonight, after seeing his humble side its fair to say that has changed. Great fight tonight, I'm sure you have a bright future dude.
This side of him has always been there, glad people are catching on though
same for TJ Dillashaw, the fact he survived the worst possible position with just ONE ARM for 2 rounds is absolutely crazy, big respect for him
He hasn't changed. He has always been like this but people like you just blindly hated him
In my unprofessional opinion lol it could of went either way in this brawl. Suga showed he could hold it down with a beast like Yan. Yan controlled the time and ground game, but Suga got out of a few tough situations on the ground and Suga and Peter both have granite chins. Taking some shots from Yan and Suga staying in the pocket throwing his all too, and Yan landing his big shots. Great fight from both these warriors.
yan landed more strikes and had 6 takedown to 0. your a clown if you think this couldve went either way
5 minutes of control in the ground, significant strikes were landed by yan, u guys are biggest CLOWNS

Sean proved everybody wrong. We all thought he was on Munhoz's level. Top 12-8 level fighter. He showed he was a top 5 level fighter tonight. Even if I scored it for Yan, he still took a round off and the 1st was at least debatable. He gave him a run for his money and that is very commendable. He will probably be a future champion
What's this we 💩? Anyone with a brain knew he was top 5.
He won for a clear reason…. Control and takedowns which led to no damage, it was clear yan was down on points and trying milk rounds using control time on the ground but it’s basically stalling if your just holding them there not doing damage or looking for a sub
Props to the Suga man!! I was not sure his power would translate to Petr Yan but he held up! Good job.

I’m a bigger fan of Sean after this battle
I believe in the rules that the UFC has been discussing, damage outweighs takedowns because takedowns don’t mean much unless submission attempts/ground control are involved. Ground control was technically involved, but no real ground n pound or submissions were really implemented by Yan. Basically alot of scrambling on Sugas part. I think ground control SHOULD be used as a sort of tie breaker for folks who don’t damage each other, but the problem is that Sugas striking damaged Yan pretty good. I believe Yan got outstruck down the stretch.

Love this guy next Champ over coming adversity...
