Banadir Factor are bringing us closer to the Swahili people with whom in the past centuries we have built a cultural history made of enviable peace and progress. Walking through the streets of Lamu it seems to be in Mogadishu or in the old Shingaani with the big difference that the people of Lamu have preserved their most precious antiquities to the point of being included in the Unesco list. Instead in Mogadishu everything is destroyed not only out of ignorance but also out of a childish ethnic envy of the series "that ancient mosque was not built by my clan and therefore can be demolished".

Dear Abubakar, currently the greatest danger to our antiquities are some Banaadiri clans. For example, one of the oldest mosques in the world, the Al Jaamaca of Mogadishu in the Xamarweyne district a (636 AH/1238 CE) - is gradually destroyed by a Banaadiri clan and government institutions have never put anyone in jail for this affair.

@@Tiinhamar subhanallah that is sad to swallow. Such masjid need to be preserved is our evidence to show how long we have been here in the coast. I don't trust this injustice government thus why you don't see no peace in this country.

Amazing historical video about the part of the culture we share with this island! Before watching this, I've never seen Lamu in such a clear picture, but this video gave me a lot of knowledge about the culture and civilization they have, which is similar to our culture and our civilization. Keeping making more of these qualitative videos!
    Thanks for Sharing 🤝🏻

I have been obsessed with this cute little town of late. Are you still there? Please can you find out if any one exports Swahili furnishings to the UK? Thank you.

The people of shela came from Manda when the water there ran out . They were granted the land at shela to make a village by the lamu people . They got a good deal because now they have the beach and the fresh water !
I lived in Lamu for a number of years and I love it dearly but there are a lot of problems , mainly of drug abuse

Chimini (chimbalazi) and kibajuni language have alot of similarities in their accent. Especially the Banjuni from kismayu and our brothers from barawa mashaa Allah.

I have come to a conclusion that Swahili identity is built by those who immigrated on the Saba Coast - from mainland Africa or the far east like Indonesia.
May Allah bless the monarchy of Saba.
