    Hello Everyone! Thank you for your appreciation! Due to your consistent questions about this video, I will further explain each detail to make sure that you understand everything:
    1. I used vodka or ethyl alcohol to make the soap clearer and finer. It preserves the fruit juice longer to prevent fungi and bacteria to inhibit early in the soap.
    2. Vodka or ethyl alcohol is optional only.
    3. You may only use melt and pour soap for this. Glycerin soap fits the best. Goat's milk base or shea butter melt and pour is OK.
    4. Vegetable or coconut oil is used to make the soap bar harder and to create more lather. When we add liquid substance like juice or water, the soap's lather production decreases.
    5. Sugar is added to increase bubble production as well as to support lathering.
    6. 3 tbsp. papaya juice is enough to add in the soap. An allowance of another 2 to 3 tbsp. juice (1/4 to 1/3 of lemon) is OK but that is the maximum amount already for a 135 gram soap. Add another tsp. of sugar if you do this. In the video, I got 2 tbsp. extract after mashing the fruit. I added another 1 tbsp. of papaya juice before pouring the melted soap.
    7. Melt and pour soap produces minimum lather and bubbles because of high glycerin or emollient content.
    8. I added few drops to a teaspoon of liquid glycerin to add "moisturizer" in the soap. Liquid substances and lather supports decreases the soap's moisture, esp. if you add lemon or citrus juices.
    9. For some, like me, the soap may be a bit drying. Put on some moisturizer after shower.
    10. If you add lemon or citrus juices, the soap use may be a bit itchy and drying. Again, moisturize after shower and protect your skin w/ SPF.
    11. The soap does not need curing period, it is ready to use as soon as it molds. Use a plastic, parchment or napkin wrap to store it in a dry place w/ room temperature.
    12. It expires as soon as the color darkens. My soap browned after 7 months. It is best to use the soap at its freshest phase. At 1 week still.
    13. You may add few drops of Papaya fruit essential oil for additional skin nutrients.
    14. For advanced lightening results, you may add few drops to 1 capsule of vitamin E oil (Tocopherol), and/ or 1 powdered tablet of vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), at least a teaspoon of Kojic acid powder and/ or Glutathione powder.
    I hope this may help you, Thanks again for watching! :)

      A month or two will do, or until you don't see it become brownish. Just wrap it well and store in a cool dry place. Good luck! Use cling or plastic so you can see its color from time to time.

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Ify! I recommended transparent bar soap because it is suited best for the ingredients mentioned but it is ok if transparent soap is not available, use melt and pour shea butter soap or goat's milk soap as long as it melts very well and can be moulded. Then you may skip alcohol use as well. Thank you for watching!

      Hi Yi! I guess you may just have to put the papaya into the blender (but without adding water) if you want to make a bulk. I can't advice you to put all the ingredients in one blender because if we do, the chemical reactions of each won't be the same and will contribute different reactions. Thank you for watching!

      Follow up question, alcohol serves a preservatives? And can be used upto 7mos. Am i correct? Because i’ll definetly give this formula a try.

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, alcohol serves as a preservative and may last up to seven months when stored well and wrapped well, but may still vary depending upon weather and humidity, thank you for asking!

    • @KhimmySedillo
      @KhimmySedillo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ethyl alcohol can be a substitute for bodka or gin? Or only drinking alcohol? Sorry for asking so many things. And aside from then alcohol what other preservative that i can use? And the measurement of possible preservatives for this soap making.

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Any drinking alcohol is serves as a preservative, particular to clear spirits or white wine because we also want our soap to be clear. Aside from alcohol, I don't know any preservative that I could advice because for other soap methods, they don't require preservative or they use a higher grade such as Paraben which is not organic. A teaspoon of vodka is the best for me. Thank you for asking!

    can i use snow whitening soap instead of glycerin bar soap?

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question Gian! Since Snow Skin Whitening Soap is already a prefabricated whitening glycerin soap, there is no need to add bubble and lather enhancers. Instead, try adding 4 to 6 tablespoon fulls of pure papaya nectar and fragrance of your choice. It will higher the whitening efficacy of the soap. Good luck & thanks for watching!

    Hello! i want to ask you something :).. I'm kinda new to this soap making and stuff, It's for my Investigatory Project actually. if you are making a soap, is it important to put glycerin in it? is it necessary?..please help meeee...

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi chrisally! Glycerin is a versatile compound usually from alcohol or vegetable oil which is commonly used in confectionery (for syrup and sweeteners) and pharmacies (for laxatives and liquid medicine) and as well as cosmetics (for makeup and bath products). This compound is necessary for soap making because it adds humectant (to render moisture for moisturization and hydration) to the soap and binds well with the ingredients to produce a high quality, fine soap product. Thank you for watching!

      @thekitchencastle  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but be careful w/ the amount of lemon juice or essence you put because if you put too much, the soap will mold very soft and very blurred. And if you use it, your skin will be a bit stingy and tight at feel. Maybe you could just use 1/4 to 1/3 juice of lemon for every glycerin bar :)

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joyce! If you are referring to the soap base, I buy plain glycerin soaps on nearby beauty supply shops, but sometimes they are available at hbc. However, they are also available on derm clinics and online. But you may simply use plain pears soap or snow if you can't find one. Thank you for watching!

      Hi Raslen! I used 1 tsp. of coconut or vegetable oil to make the soap harder. You may also try using sunflower or those that are best for skin. Please see my pinned comment for more details.

    • @thekitchencastle

      Hi Faria! Only you may use glycerin based soap because of its "melt and pour" soap property, and glycerin is a humectant for skin moisture and nourishment. Yes you may skip alcohol and you may add 1 to 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice. Thank you for watching!

    can i use "safeguard" soap instead of glycerin?

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Khriste Lei! I'm afraid you can't use safeguard soap for this project. Use clear and light weighted soaps (glycerin soap or transparent or melt and pour soap) that is easy to melt and can be mixed easily w/ the said ingredients. However, i will consider your questions to produce a video in the near future about it. Thank you for watching! :)

    Can I use lye instead of glycerin bar soap?

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! For this soap project, you cannot use lye because this is a different soap making method. This is melt and pour soap method and you may only use melt and pour soap base like glycerin base or goat's milk opaque base. Thanks for watching!

    how can I replace Vodka??
    pls suggest a substitute for it

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have rubbing alcohol like Ethyl, you may use it. But if your alcohol is scented it may affect your desired fragrance. Alcohol makes the soap clearer and finer, but if you skip it it's just okay. Maybe Whiskey, Chardonnay or Gin won't hurt? Just be careful when using these alcohol to prevent accidents. Always see the video for reminders. Thank you for watching!
