Mam,first you knit the front panel only and not the back panel. Next time you say that just now we have knit the back panel. But you have actually not knit the back panel. You have knit the front panel.I always stich the front panel stich in every row.
But the way you explain every step is really appreciable and make knitting very easy and interesting for learners like me.Thankyou so much.

At 10:58 I saw that there was a lot of progression. Are you supposed to switch between the first way at 7:39 and the other way at 10:16 until you get to the length at 10:58? Or do you just continue doing the pattern at 10:16

I just continue doing circular Knitting which i start from 7.39........to 10.58......and there is no other way..... only one pattern for palm, thumb and fingers which is circular Knitting.
