The newer mattresses, hybreds, now address the problem of the beds being to hot. I just got a Winkbed and I love it. Heat always bothered me too. My room had the heat turned off.
I'm five months pregnant and have always had a hard time sleeping, but the past few nights I went to bed with one blanket instead of my usual two, and I slept SO WELL. Like, better than before I became pregnant. So there's definitely something to be said for a cool room.
Im glad you found out. Youve missed out on a couple decades of amazing sleep. A nice cold bed is the best and warm it up yourself. One blanket with one leg out of it. Like a radiator system it lets just enough heat out your body from that leg Sleeping with a window cracked year round will help you sleep better and get sick less often. Your house air is 8x more polluted than outside air. Even if you live in a big city.
How don't you wake up with the cold? I don't know how sleeping in the cold really helps because of disruptive sleep, for most anyways who would never sleep in a cold room
A cool room helps you sleep so do warmer temperatures wake you up? I recently changed my alarm clock to half an hour earlier and I've noticed that about 10-20min before my alarm goes off, when I'm still asleep, I start to feel a lot hotter. Usually I'll kick the blankets off and then a little while later I'll hear the alarm go off and wake up.
i always preferred firm mattress until had both shoulder surgeries. now i have a foam topper on top of a pillowtop mattress on an adjustable frame. you are so right about the cold room!!!
I live in Far North Australia. Super hot right now. Leaving the windows open, no outside breeze, using just the ceiling fan, my body temp is still far too hot to sleep comfortably. Only the aicon suffices!
You are the BEST! My little one 5 gets hot in the middle of the night, not fever, but just plane hot. Then cool off... We adjusted around 16-18 Still wonder why she still gets hot now? Thank you from Madrid, España.
We keep our house at 60 degrees at night. I sleep on a gel foam mattress topper and sleep like the dead for 6-7 hours straight, waking up in the same position. @@ilovemochi35 It's like sleeping on a cloud. I got mine at Costco, brand is Novoform ComfortLuxe 3". It's neither hot or cold. I've had 2 of them, the last one lasted 7 years, worth the money.

Ha! I thought I'm not normal. I like it cold, open my window 1/4th to get the cold in and sometimes need to shower when I can't sleep, and drink a little cold milk. I LOVE it!!!
I love a cool to cold room, & have the window open in Autumn, Winter, Spring. I rarely feel cold, but with age came arthritis in the hips, usually in abeyance due to diet, but the cold rather annoyingly can aggravate it. Despite being a 'hot sleeper', I find the memory foam mattress invaluable as a warm substrate, I put the electric blanket on & the cooling once switched off helps me drift to sleep. I just wear a knitted tube skirt over my hips for localised warmth, (classy, eh?) & sometimes also an extra blanket just double folded over my waist/hips area. Yes, I am a foot poker-outerer! 😅
great video..💦 I'm glad I found someone that also sleeps in a very cold room, I thought this was very strange behavior, but it always seems to help me sleep deeply & sound.
I've known this for years. I used to love sleeping with my bed close to the wall. The cold from the floor and the wall would come upward to the side of my bed and it would get me to fall asleep very quickly. I prefer a cool to mildly cold room for whenever I have migraine headaches also.
Since I was a child, I’m known to get heat rashes. For me it doesn’t happen only in Summer but any place where it is hot. I could be really cold but if I’m sitting by an electric heater my legs will become itchy and red. My room is the only room in the house that has to be extremely cold. My husband has seen me in my worst and he understands why our room has to be cold. Thank you for the video . I’m so not looking forward for menopause 🙁
I grew up in a house with no central heat. Our bedrooms were not heated. The house did not have insulation. We were rarely sick except for measles chiickpox etc. I still prefer no heat in my bedroom.

We have a window A/C unit running at night year round along with a fan and we sleep hard. To me it’s the heavy bed covers that help, makes no sense but that’s how we roll. Thanks Doc!
That's how I grew up in Germany. My father insisted on sleeping with open windows even in winter. We never felt cold because of the warm down duvets. I like it still today. My husband doesn't agree. When he closes the window I sleep in the guestroom.
Dr. B - I'm going to one up you. In the winter I sleep with the AC on!! Plus I live in Canada! It was -7 outside last night and I slept with the AC on.
I get crazy dreams that are off the wall when I sleep in a cold room with heavy blankets; however, I don't toss and turn and wake up ready to go! Just woke up from a crazy dream, got my coffee and got on the Internet and here Dr. Berg has video on sleeping in a cold room. I keep my room at 67 degrees and find I get my best and deepest sleep. I sleep on a 12 inch Memory Foam bed I bought years ago. I wish I had a Foam Bed as a kid, as when I get into I feel like I am sleeping on a cloud. I bought mine off of Ebay for $250 bucks (queen sized) as the local bed store wanted $600 bucks for a single 6 inch foam. I walked out that store thinking I would be better off sleeping on wood than spending $600 bucks on a flimsy 6 single foam bed. Then I found the one I sleep on, on Ebay! Best price and best bed for me, ever! Love 4Truth!
I'm a hot sleeper( and ' hot awake') living in a tropical hot humid country and found that if I sleep on the floor with a thick sheet( thicker on the back area) my sleep quality improved, among other things that I've done. I also don't use pillows because my head and nape tends to be hot. I don't like air conditioning because it makes my nose stuffy since I have allergic rhinitis. I love the " cold" months. Summer exhausts me so much. It's like sauna all day everyday, sweat doesn't dry easily. I also get rashes easily.
Getting away from wiring is a tough one. There is a plug every 6 to 8 feet in most rooms. It is true about emf. I use Shungite and it works but there is a lot of fakes out there. Test it with and EMF Tester to see if it lowers the EMF and get your Shungite directly certified from Russia.
We leave the heat off in our bedroom in the winter. Our house has baseboard heaters and each room has it's own thermostat. I would rather snuggle up in a blanket then be sweaty for sure.
Temperature is important, but curiously if I have vivid dreams or borderline nightmares I always wake up and either the covers are off me and I'm too cold. Only happens when I'm cold.

Dr. Berg, so glad I saw your video. I too like to sleep in a cold room. I have a memory foam mattress, which tends to get hot (holds body heat) what brand of gel toppers did you use? I tried the cooling mattress covers, made no difference.
Dear Dr. Berg. I am healthy 41 years old man. I am on IF+Keto. In the days of prolonged fasting, after the day of feasting I am sweating at night, during a sleep. Why? I appreciate your response and wish you all the best!
You nailed it Dr Berg!!! I used to sleep on a waterbed for 20+ years loved ❤️ it because the temperature was always consistent in the winter and summer (never to hot or cold) but when I got married I had to get rid of it after 4 years because my wife didn't like it so we went to a memory foam mattress. Now my wife really likes the memory foam because it does keep her warm but I never slept well because it was hot I would get around 5.5 hours of restless sleep a night for 12 years. In December of 2019 I bought the Purple mattress and I couldn't be happier, now I get a little over 7 hours of sleep a night because it is cool it kind of feels like you are floating on air. My wife is still sleeping on the memory foam mattress and she is fine with that. (BTW we have a king size bed so we have two full single mattresses inside the bed frame). 😀

I never use aircon when sleeping in winter time. I can just sleep much better that way. My mom always try to warm up my room so have to turn it off well before going to bed lol. Thank you for the explanation!
Love this channel
A day without dr Berg's video is a lost one. Thank you for your amazing work!
Thank you so much! It's my pleasure!
@@Drberg And I mean it. It's my habit :) Watching your vids while drinking my daily chamomile. Thank you! (I love the liver - related content. It's fascinating)
I sleep at 64 degrees in the nude. Often with a fan in front of a cracked window. I live an hour from Canada. You are the Jesus...of health! Thank you Dr. Berg.
You’re gonna stay single
The newer mattresses, hybreds, now address the problem of the beds being to hot. I just got a Winkbed and I love it. Heat always bothered me too. My room had the heat turned off.
Looking in from England - My grandmother always said to chose a bedroom that was in a north facing room - now I understand why.
Like a radiator system it lets just enough heat out your body from that leg
Sleeping with a window cracked year round will help you sleep better and get sick less often. Your house air is 8x more polluted than outside air. Even if you live in a big city.
Yes, last night I just slept in a cold dark room and it was great! I feel like Dr. Berg always knows what we are doing....😁😀👍
his cat is a psychic
Its -50 *C here ... my window is cracked 1” and floor vent closed. McAwesome sleeps!!! A warm dog or 2 pressing up for warmth also. So cozy !!!
My room has to be ice cold. Even when it’s snowing my window is open all night.
you need a large horizontal fridge !
snap! blizzard outside and id still have the window WIDE open
Same here, hell its winter, outside full of snow, my Window is wide open
How don't you wake up with the cold? I don't know how sleeping in the cold really helps because of disruptive sleep, for most anyways who would never sleep in a cold room
Sounds good.
Whenever i visit my mom i am gasping for air as she has heating on so HIGH.....i come out sweating, irritated with a rash and itching
Oh no! Hopefully there was some compromise.
You change our life...
Thanks alot
Very glad to be of help.
About to go to sleep now, insomniac checking in, stretching helps(10-15 mins.) then sitting there for a bit stationary afterwards helps 🦉
thats why airconditioning and blancket work so well
A cool room helps you sleep so do warmer temperatures wake you up?
The fan is also about the white noise that helps you sleep as well and circulates your air.
My husband is envious of how I can sleep. Also, I meditate when I shut the light off and fall asleep in 2 minutes. I'm lucky in the sleep dept.
How does the gel feel? Is it cold and soft?
@@ilovemochi35 It's like sleeping on a cloud. I got mine at Costco, brand is Novoform ComfortLuxe 3". It's neither hot or cold. I've had 2 of them, the last one lasted 7 years, worth the money.
@@SuperCheeseUs woah sounds great, I'd like to tried that sometimes after this corona ends
We live in a climate with extremely hot humid summer nights are the norm. Thank goodness for air conditioning. Clean sheets under the covers set to comfortably cool temp, low humidity in a darkened room works for me.
Oh that's why we sleep better when I set the temperature low, thank you Dr berg. 🤗 now I know Alhamdulilah.
you are a man of refined tastes, sir.
great video..💦
I'm glad I found someone that also sleeps in a very cold room,
I thought this was very strange behavior, but it always seems to help me sleep deeply & sound.
You are great. Thanks & Love from India.
Thanks for watching
I've known this for years. I used to love sleeping with my bed close to the wall. The cold from the floor and the wall would come upward to the side of my bed and it would get me to fall asleep very quickly.
I prefer a cool to mildly cold room for whenever I have migraine headaches also.
Thank you Doctor❤
Your advise is always 💯%
Please do a video on sugar as a body scrub. I am happy to not eat it, but now I wonder how it affects the skin when used as a body scrub. Thank you for all your efforts to provide well researched information.
As usual, thank you Dr. Berg for all this useful information! You're actually an encyclopedy !
Very glad to be of help.
I have always turned my heat down before bed. Sleep great.
I find this subject fascinating! I've been doing cold training with keto/IF for about two years and found a lot of unexpected benefits. I recently started your Bulletproof Immunity course and wondered if you are aware of any benefits cold exposure can have for the immune system? Thanks for all of the information you provide!
Great information, thx!
Very glad to be of help.
Cold room, white noise, gravity blanket 😴😌
Wowwww thanks doc I was wondering how much weirder menopause is turning me , maybe into a zombie , but now I understand. I literally turn my heat off in my room to be able to sleep .. again thank you so much for your time to make those videos 🙏🏾 ❤️
Thank you DR Berg for always coming through. Now I have proof to show my husband why I need the room cold at night. I have to sleep with the window open and the heater off....
I love my memory foam, best mattress EVER.... I also keep my house cold
I keep the heater off in my bedroom all winter long as well. Sometimes have the window open. I sleep better in the cold.
Hi Dr Berg i feel better from watching your get heath video wish i could call you so much to say
During the winter is the best time to turn your air unit off And save a lot of money & you can sleep better at night. How beautiful is that
Merci Dr Berg.
We have a window A/C unit running at night year round along with a fan and we sleep hard. To me it’s the heavy bed covers that help, makes no sense but that’s how we roll. Thanks Doc!
This is very true! When I sleep with my heater off I wake up feeling energized.
I too sleep in a cold room. Lots of covers. I do get night sweats, menopause, which is why I layer the covers. Good sleep ❤️🌹💕🌻🐱🌎🌈😸
That's how I grew up in Germany. My father insisted on sleeping with open windows even in winter. We never felt cold because of the warm down duvets. I like it still today. My husband doesn't agree. When he closes the window I sleep in the guestroom.
Since child I am scare of darkness i always keep lamp light on or street light illuminate my room it help to fall sleep better
Always, THE BEST health information!
I 100% agree with sleep issue I will look into a gel top for bed
I shut down the temperature and open the window a little bit in the winter in Canada perfect sleep 👌
Great intel, doc. Thanks.
Amazing Dr Berg ✌️ awesome information thank you for sharing 🙏
Very glad to be of help.
I love the memory foam!
And a nice cup of chamomile herbal tea an hour before bed time!
you are the best doctor in the world
This video is great! Has helped a lot.
Fans help with providing white noise too. My ears ring when it's really quiet and can't fall asleep easy without a fan going.
The demonic spirits are visiting......they have a cold chill about them. And.... Yes, things in the spiritual realm can move things in the physical realm. Some serious rebuking may be the order of the day.
I'd given thought to the possibility yet they shall not pass , they may visit yet I trust in the Creator who resides within the Realm of the Absolute, whom over watches all here within the Realm of the Relative -
You are amazing Dr. Berg!
Dr. Berg, so glad I saw your video. I too like to sleep in a cold room. I have a memory foam mattress, which tends to get hot (holds body heat) what brand of gel toppers did you use? I tried the cooling mattress covers, made no difference.
Sage advice Dr Berg!
Dear Dr. Berg. I am healthy 41 years old man. I am on IF+Keto. In the days of prolonged fasting, after the day of feasting I am sweating at night, during a sleep. Why? I appreciate your response and wish you all the best!
Sleeping in a room now 66 degrees. ❤️ it. Just had to take a bathroom break 😆 and click this video.
Thank you so much.💛
Dr Berg
I sleep on a tempur pedic memory foam. I agree it’s hot 🥵 . You’re right on with this topic. I run hot. I use a 4” fan and sometimes feet out of the side of my covers. Excellent video. Looking into a gel topper. Thank you for helping us.
Love the gallbladder formula and adrenal.
General repair 👨🔧
A fan does the job in summer, winter, I love being cold to wrap myself in my doona😂
Helen your comment made me smile. My Hungarian Grandma called the puffy satin quilt she gave me, Dun-doo, phonic, how she said it.
I was 4, 5 yrs old. Doona, Dun-doo, prob the same. I remember the quilt, I can smell it in my head, the heavy satin. I had to be made in the 40's.
Crib size, feather down, heavy satin both sides, satin braided edges, deep silver and mauve pink. I loved it so, esp yes when it was cold in the room.
I use car radiator fans in my room for maximum thrust
@@fidelcatsro6948 🤣🤣 maximum thrust huh
@@freefallin7304 I don't use silk, and never will 😊
Thanks doc. now I understand y my hubby complaints disturbed sleep
Glad it helped!
yes dr berg i have to sleep with a fan on all seasons and the a/c in summer and have the window cracked in the winter because my upstairs is way too hot and stuffy
I never in my whole life Heated my bedroom. Some time in winter I leave my window opened all night. When it’s really freezing cold, I open it to lower the temperature before going to sleep. I bread better too. Between 12-14 Celsius (53.6 to 57.2 Fahrenheit). Above that, I got trouble to sleep.
This is great to hear but I have the issue of stuffy head if I sleep with the fan on in the summer even if it's not pointed at me. Air conditioning needs to be adjusted overnight but the fan doesn't. Thanks again though.
