The one thing the writers got right with Peter's character in the two films is Spidey's thing for cheesy quips while he's fighting.
That's not the only thing.
Also his swings, his chemistry with Gwen, his fighting styles, he acts like a spider
These are the reasons that make his Spidey good just like Tobey's and Tom's.
Only problem was story. Nothing else

People unfairly compare the action in these films to the Raimi films, which were way more over-the-top and stylistic but were too unrealistic for live-action films. And I'm tired of people comparing films poorly out of nostalgia.

It is absolutely insane how good the CG was for 2012. It was amazing in my eyes and I was very sad the series get conned out of a third entry. Can someone please explain why these visually stunning movies didn't do very well?
The first one did, pardon the word play, amazing. The second one.... not so much. A third and fourth entry were planned, which then changed to a Sinister Six movie along with a third entry, but after the second movie bombed, there just wasn't enough backing to justify making them. And while I can see your view on the CG, I just can't buy that the Lizard is actually there. He doesn't look like he's interacting with anything, his movements are too slow and clumsy for what's actually being done to the environment he's in. And, well, the flat face is real dumb looking.
From what I heard the second movie didn't do well cause of Sony's interference preventing the director from having any creative freedom. As for the movies from what I heard there they were discussing a 3rd movie when Andrew called out sick so they fired him and cancelled the movie

I couldn't help but laugh when "The Man" Stan Lee made that cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) when I first saw this movie in theaters. It happens to be among my top-5 favorite Stan Lee cameos.

Broo i love this film and i still do and rn im 14 and saw this film years ago and then when i was a little younger than now it evolved into a nightmare where the lizard invaded my primary school and in the nightmare when he arrived i was hiding in the head teacher’s office
And i also feel like the lizard is quite an underrated character although he has only been in this film and no way home he hasn’t been seen or or mentioned much in the other films and this is not including like the animations or the comics just the films
The lizard is also my favourite spidey villain because of his animalistic nature as the lizard but also to retain his human capabilities of speech and using his right arm just in a different way and also being able mix chemicals for a certain reaction and i for one am a guy who loves lizards and animals in general but mainly coz he’s based off my favourite animal and the science behind becoming the lizard and him being who he is a scientist who lost his arm in a plane crash as a soldier sent off duty then to study lizards and how he can use lizard DNA to regrow his arm and also his regenerative ability as the lizard
