I see you keep making one mistake. You attack ranged units when you block them. When you block off ranged units most of them have a huge damage penalty. So you should attack the melee units nearby instead of the blocked ranged unit. That is the benefit of blocking them especially with a unit that voids retaliation from the enemy attacked stack.
Even with all of the abominably silly mistakes (like not TP'ing Thant back to protect vs. Sandro), an all VL run against computer players is almost always a guaranteed win.
You have expert Town Portal - yet you never used it to hop around in towns to gather your vampires or to defend against small attacking enemy troops. ..... Once you have expert Earth Magic and TP your can 1-hero most maps..............
I just finished maelstrom part 8 earlier and so when you nonchalantly opened a Pandoras box my heart did a beaty thing 😅 i guess this map doesn't instantly kill you with 50 super mario bros
IIRC, vampires are even more OP in HoMM4. Dunno why Van Caneghem haven't introduced something to counter that. Say making the turns into day and night, so vampires would be powerful only during the night turns. Otherwise there is just no chance against a large enough stack of vampires. Only the HoMM1/HoMM2 ghosts are more broken.
Yup, in HoM&M4, vampires are even crazier with bloody 75HP. Compile that with some spellcasting and they're totally invulnerable. One major stupidity in that game was making each individual creature stack hold movement energy. TOTALLY breaks having "hero trains", and makes it pointless except to split weak troops into individuals and having them go berserk collecting loose resources. Friggin' stupid. What's the point of having "heroes" at that point?! Speaking of which, it was way crazy to have heroes fighting on the battlefield. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨
not to backseat game you or anything,but at the 35 min mark you could have town portaled to your necro towns collected extra Vampire Lords portaled back to the tower town and Dimension dorr to the magic well all with out spending movement points more then you would have doing what you did lol, great job thou one unit type only (tat isn't skels) is not an easy task
Is this remastered version of Heroes 3? I have H3 with all expansions yet my options etc look nowhere near like in the game you play, even trading troops etc.

Since you had expert air magic you could've used counterattack on the vamps so they would recover more health from all enemies in a turn. And I would've given another hero a few vamps just so they could sustain themselves with life drain against weak heroes and monsters to cover more of the map. I enjoyed this series and I'm looking forwards to more!
Also getting that flail artifact EARLY in your 2nd video would have made your vampires a lot more effective - also they deal more damage and they also regain more life.... any artifact that increases artifacts for vampire lords is a must.... also you could have gone for artifact merchant in the tower.....

Also, not using View Air and View Earth to locate even faster the towns/heroes is a mistake in my eyes. Not using TP to def towns, winning battles on auto and then canceling the end result to play it again. Meh I guess, more content time for YT, huh...
I think he played pretty well! Don´t be negative, you can play this game in 100 of ways, depends on what your goal is with it. When you play on almost impossible you kinda need more than 1 hero... even with TP, you can´t cover enough with only 1 hero when the map is large and you have several opponents. I play this game alot and it´s called "HEROES" for a reason. I use like 7-8 heroes often even with TP and DDoor :D

I always thought earth and air magic was kinda broken when it comes to exploration. For me, for any larger map, town portal and teleport is a must.

How about going for counterstrike instead of raise dead? Wouldn't that give infinite life drain, and perhaps save some spell points?
