@@everythingmossyme too! I already knew the musical but not well enough that I was aware of the mtv proshot, gone away and watched it and now I absolutely love it
"He was really good in Big Hero 6" First of all, Casper might not watch a lot of media, bur when he does he has good taste! And second of all LISTEN as someone who loves that movie and this musical, I was literally thinking just a day or two ago like "if I had a nickel for every time I liked a piece of media where the main antagonist was a grey-haired college professor named Professor Calla[g]han, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice"
I’m so glad people still talk about this musical with such high praise. It really is very unique and I think really elevates the movie in the best ways. I especially love how they changed up Elle in terms of how quickly she changes up her goals for going to law school. The movie was great with her quickly realizing her worth at the “costume” party and immediately saying a big F you to her ex. HOWEVER, I think the musical was more accurate to a certain extent. Being with someone for so long and having the pressures of gender roles ESPECIALLY in the 2000’s would make it hard to just change your mind set that quickly. I love the actual emotional journey Elle went on in the musical until she finally stopped working hard for her past and worked for her potential. Also Elle and Emmett actually had good chemistry in the musical so I rooted for them way more than the movie.
I also love how genuinely in love with this musical you are. This was my first ever musical I watched and I had nobody to talk to about it, I’m so glad that someone so outwardly loves it like I do without fear of being “too much”
@@elliottkane1519 stopp I LOVE how much you love this show! its one of the first i watched too, and i'm always so scared to say it's one of my favs, but like its genuinely so good. perfect balance of fun with a good message. and yess I totally agree, so many people say the musical is wrong for making her turning point not be at the costume party and have her 'less independent', but it truly is so much more real. both the film and musical are great respectively though!
Michael Rupert is fantastic as Callahan - OG Marvin from Falsettos! Apparently Christian was obsessed with the show during drama school so he must have been fanboying so hard getting to work with Michael!
My middle school put on legally blond when I was in 7th grade, me and bunch of my friends were in theater so it's something really near and dear to our hearts, it makes me really happy to see someone reacting to it.
I watched the full musical for the first time after watching part one and again to show my mom. I have been looking forward to getting to blood in the water ever since. I absolutely love the song, exited to see Casper meet my favorite character next time
I literally watched the first two videos of this series and then went and watched the entire musical proshot myself. Loved it! Thanks for opening my eyes to this show, you guys!
Hey all. I was actually in a slightly large for its kind production of Legally Blonde the Musical. It was through my school, but it had over 1000 people who watched it overall. Anyway, I actually played Professor Callahan, and I loved singing both Blood in the Water, and the other main one he sings (don't want to say anything due to spoilers).
As soon as Mortius mentioned Warner not having a villain monologue I imagined him having a whole Aaron Burr moment like in Your Obedient Servant "HOW DOES ELLE" 💀
I hope that you guys will do Love and War after the whole show is finished. It was the song that was in the show instead of Positive during the San Francisco tryouts, and was replaced by Positive before it made it to Broadway. It's a very different tone to Positive. There are no high quality cast recordings of it, but there are recordings of some performances on youtube (I recommend the one uploaded by "GlindyUpland"), and the lyrics can be found online. It's really, really fun, and I personally prefer it to Positive (though I understand why Positive made it into the show).
I WAS SOOOOO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!! legally blonde is my favorite musical and blood in the water is my favorite song in the whole thing right in front of legally blonde! the instrumental and lyrics flow soooo well and the actor (michael rupert i think?) is INCREDIBLE in this recording especially. i prefer it over the cast recording honestly! i would kill to be in this show one day
Yo, the train graphic and real life train sound was so perfect I didn't even think twice when I heard the horn. (I was also on the Portland MAX and WES almost all day, so maybe I have train on the brain.)
I didn't know about the cultural context of girls gone wild being a sexualized thing. That's why I love watching reactions cause I learn something new every time!
Practically every time Mortius is dramatically lip syncing along with songs in these coreactions I honestly am like "am I... attracted to Mortius?" Me and my thing for "theatrically confident" people I swear 😅
I would love for you to react to 'Tanz der Vampire', a german musical that's equally bizzare and funny. There are recordings with English subtitles on TH-cam as well. Sadly the Broadway version isn't at all representative of the original...
Can you react to epic cut songs like your light, I need her to be mine, Perimedes, Appetite, this is the way, trick, etc they have some of the best animatics
Mortius showed me Your Light as a Patreon exclusive way back before the Cyclops saga (because he's evil incarnate). We might check out more cut songs! We'll see! -C
19:11 Yep, GGW was similar to Playboy's Bunnies, except with the very specific distinction that the videos were marketed as all the actresses being college students, usually on a beach for Spring Break or 4th of July or whatever. Given the usual epithet of "barely legal," it was the subject of more scandal and controversy than the Bunnies, which is why _they're_ still considered somewhat classy, while GGW is mostly just an insult from a bygone (y2k) era.
How are you guys liking Legally Blonde on OAR so far? 👇
Loving it! I decided to watch the whole thing after seeing your first reaction to it, and I'm in love. Definitely a new favorite 🩷
This is my favorite musical ever and your insights are making me like it even more than I already do😭💖💖
I really hope you do more proshots like this, I love that you can somewhat get the experience of seeing an actual stage production🥰

I’m enjoying this musical - It’s especially fun to experience the interaction between you two.
Blood in the Water is my fav song so far
Don’t blame you. It s my favorite song of act 1
Such a good song
Fr!! When they dropped "Yes you have guts but now they're spilled" my jaw dropped harddddd
Its my favorite also. You should listen to the brasilian version, its the best version i had listened.
It's about to get
So much better!! 😜
Casper: “is she the one from the show where they get into the minds of criminals?”
So you mean Criminal minds😂
I read this right as he said it and now I can't stop giggling

Oh I’m SO ready for the reaction to Ireland and Chip on my shoulder (even if they’re separate videos)
Me when anyone says ruthless 6:55 :
'it's mercy upon ourselves'
Seems like that was exactly where their minds went too dsdfs

And then Christian himself got to play Marvin in the revival - in which he was incredible!
The reason Callahan got a big applause is because Victor Garbor is a Broadway “A” class actor.
Uhhh….that is NOT Victor Garber. Professor Callahan is portrayed by Michael Rupert, a fantastic Broadway actor in his own right.
You accidentally called out the movie actor.
Loving the Legally Blonde tracks. I’m sick and sad so I’m happy to have something to look forward to tomorrow.
I really, really hope you guys react to Starkid musicals at some point! I think you'd love them

@@colbyzimmermann7920 lol, between the time I asked and you replied, I saw the short.
I saw a production where the Vivan was a little person so the line “Anyway she’s twice my size.” Was a lot more funny.
There's another lyric set people use if the heights don't match. I wonder why they didn't change it?

Yes, I love Legally Blonde! It’s like the one musical that people don’t admit to liking a lot but everyone does.

Yeah, I immediately felt: this is a very Casper song. Nicely done!
Also, the intro channel pushing... smooth! :D
Love Blood in the water! 🦈 I can't wait for Caspers reaction to Paulette! And of course, the delivery guy 😅
