My name is Lucy, I'm a 23-year-old girl from the Netherlands, and I'm here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies & tv shows and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I do lifestyle and beauty videos as well, ranging from wearable everyday looks, makeup tips and DIY natural beauty treatments, to fashion lookbooks, vegetarian recipes and more extreme Halloween tutorials.

Yes to bangs! When they are growing out you can always fade them into layers.
When I was born I had jet black hair too! And a lot of it. And then it fell out and grew back blonde! Now it's a similar colour to yours! Hahah

your Amy Lee hairstyles were the first videos of yours that I watched back in 2011! I loved them so much and I've been following you ever since! I totally remember your black hair & your bangs oh my goodness
My hair stylist also told me "NO" when I wanted all pink back in 2008 LOL. She ended up giving me pink highlights. I'm glad she said no because pink doesn't last long and I had insane splits until the bleach from the highlights grew out! I got bangs this spring and regret it because they are so high maintenance... I'm growing it out now.
I prefer you with no bangs but totally up to you. I recently got bangs and hate them and find them so hard to style as they grow out. You're my hair inspiration, I'm trying to grow mine long and get back to my natural colour
I just recently successfully grew my fringe out, so celebrated by cutting it back in! Haha... I may yet regret it, and I'm having to train it back into place again, but I wear my hair up a lot and the fringe give me some softness I can't replicate with anything else :)
I loved your bangs back when I started watching the chanel. I say yes, go for it! It's cute. I don't think it affects hair tutorials that much and, as you said, you can even have more options. And now you know many ways to style them in a cute way while they're growing out.

And I also think black hair looked great on you! And also yay for bangs, you'll still have a long hair length to be able to make braids and/or more complicated hair styles with the added plus of cute bangs. And it's like how you say, your hair grows quickly so even if then you decide you don't want them anymore you won't be stuck with them for long :)
I also loved the red wig that you wore for one of your past xmas videos. I think bangs make you look cute and young. I have liked you without bangs; it looks more grownup in a model kind of way and accentuates your natural hair look. I have grown out my bangs past my chin and get tempted to cut them but I must not!
Your hair looks beautiful just the way it is! I'm sure it would look great no matter what you do with it, because you are gorgeous!

I normally tell people to do whatever they want and not care what others say (specially in your case, since you do look cute with a fringe). However, since you do hair tutorials from very different time periods and styles I think it might be hard to do certain old timey looks with a fringe, so it's something you should definitely consider. But you know more about this sort of stuff than us, and if you believe it won't be a problem in this regard, then go ahead :) It is your hair after all ;)
I recently cut my bangs for the cooler seasons and I love them! I have found lots of updos that look great with bangs, so I think you could still do hair tutorials very well if you chose to cut yours! I also agree that they look fabulous with hats. I try not to wash my hair too much, but I've found that my bangs need washed at least every other day. I usually just pull back the rest of my hair and wash my bangs in the sink! I think bangs suit you, but you also have very nice eyebrows and would be covering them up, so that's one con. I hesitated for a while before cutting mine because people told me not to, but I'm glad I took the plunge, it's my favorite hair cut yet!

My mom always cut my hair when I was a child. She would never let my bangs grow past my eyebrows and it looked horrible!😂😂

I have and love them, but sometimes I want to do fancy hairstyles and I have no clue how to incorporate them into those hairstyles..(Especially when I'm doing historical hairstyles for my historical clothing)

Loved that video and I think, the black hair looked quite good. Though, I do love the snow white style as well, so.. :D even though, I myself wear a fringe, I'd say no to a fringe. I tried to grow mine out and after a while I just cut it back because it was such a pain in the bum and did look ridicilous most of the time.
I'd suggest getting those clip on bangs (they have some really nice natural looking ones) and wearing those for a while before deciding to actually cut your hair.
In high school I had red hair, blonde hair, and black hair and black was Definitely my favorite! But everyone said it washed me out. But it was a much more romantic feel with black hair. I miss it, but it was so hard to grow out.
Your hair is awesome, not boring at all! I believe natural is always better, and your long hair let you make that incredible historical hairstyles that I love. You look very elegant now
Omg, the same thing happened to me with black hair : when I dyed mine black, I LOVED it, but after it grew back brown, so many people told me that black actually made me look harsher and that I should never do that again :( I'd like to try it once again though, I like the Dita von Teese look of it ! And btw, you looked beautiful with black hair ! You look gorgeous with your natural colour, but as you said, black hair gives you more of a Snow White vibe ! xoxo from France :)

Haha, my mom cut my hair too, after her stylist messed up my first official cut. And then in 7th grade I started cutting my own bangs (usually too short), until I finally grew them out the following year and used those same headbands (both kinds)! And I'm going to be the odd one out and say I've always loved the look of black hair on you. It's definitely edgier, but to me it's edgy in a good way, not a bad or weird one.

Every time I get bangs, I end up regretting them. I love all your faux-bangs looks and bangs can be really cute, but I know I always end up hating them after a few weeks and then the awkward growing-out stage lasts forever!

I say go for the bangs, I'm sure you could find a way to conceal them for a historical hairstyle if needed. Also I'd love to see the tutorials you could do with bangs!
Go for it! I think they really suit you :) if you don't like it they'll grow out anyway. In a couple years you might regret not doing it more than you would regret doing it. Totally your choice though :) xx
I would do some kind of Brigitte Bardot bangs, I think they would suit you more than blunt bangs, they are easier to wear with a part and easier to grow out. You also have to consider that you will probably have to wash your bangs more often since they tend to look greasier faster.
I think you should definitely get bangs, they really suit you! Don't worry about the tutorials, if you get longer bangs they won't be impossible to get out of the way. And bangs do open up new video possibilities so go for it if you want :) Also you should think about dying your hair black again sometime, it looks so great on you!

My mum cut my hair too. I remember one hairstyle especially that I had when I was like 9. So I guess that my mum wanted to give me layers but didn't know how. Yeah, she just cut the hair on top of my head to be the same lenght as my bangs. I practically ended up with a mullet.

bangs always seem like a good idea, and then you get them done, and then they start growing, and then everything is just a mess! x) I suffered through the entire year with my bangs

Hi Lucy, I have a question about henna in your hair. I've been told it will react to the swimming pool chlorine, did you have any issues with that? And did you have lines when it started growing out etc?

Hello! My mum (Whose name is same as yours) used to cut my hair as if we were in 1920's. Always on my jawline, always with bangs and there's this specific period of time where she decided to cut my hair herself. I suppose I was about a year-old or so. the thing is I ended it up with bangs in a V shape. No kidding. Anyway... I really liked some of the videos I've seen (Found your channel just a couple of days ago) and so far, my two favourite ones are the Lily Elsie and the Clara Bow ones. ;)
I think baby bangs look great on you! You definitely have the face shape to pull them off :) someone said no because of your smaller forehead but in actuality they add length to your forehead. But I don't think you should have them too long because it cuts off too much of your face! Honestly your short bangs are the best! Think Audrey Hepburn!

Do you know what caused your hair loss at age 18? I've always had fine hair, and I'm 35 now and I feel like it's getting thinner but not sure why...

Since I was 16 I've been wanting to dye my hair purple or another crazy colour. Back then I was too scared, for a while it hasn't been on my mind, however, now I get that urge again. The only problem is, I'm almost finisched with uni and I have to get a job, so it feels like I can not dye my hair in a crazy colour anymore, I'm too late.

my hair has really thinned out over the years. I'm thinking because it's because years of using permanent dyes and bleach. I haven't dyed it in a few months. any idea about how to get it fuller, longer, and healthy again?
I would suggest doing what YOU wanna do with your hair, the black hair did reminded me of Snow White especially with the red lips. I used to pay attention to a lot of what people would say and their opinions until i realized.....sometimes their opinions weren't too great. Do what makes you happy, what you feel like doing
Yes can you please get bangs and do some vids on them. I recently got bangs and well it's my first time having them, I have no idea what I'm doing. I want to find out different hair styles to do with bangs cause all I can do is a ponytail and hair down :). I vote yes!!!!!

my mom saving my hair when I was little but she was a hair stylist so she still cuts my end (whenever I don't do it myself because it's so much fun but it's clavicule length right now it's hard to get and I have really uneven hair x) )as well as my sister's

when I was born I had a lot of hair. My jet black hair stuck up and wouldn't go down for my first few weeks. When I was a baby my hair was short and thick. I had blunt bangs. As I grew older I had always had bangs and shoulder length hair. I had my hair like that for a while until I grew out my hair, including the bangs. In 4th grade I decided to cut my waist-length hair almost up to my shoulders. It quickly grew out. then at about 9 years old I BEGGED my mom for side swept bangs. we decided to do them at home and I really loved them. At this time i loved doing fancy hairstyles. At around 5th grade I noticed my hair getting lighter. In the sunlight, strands of my hair would look BLONDE. I had the same haircut for a while, side swept bangs and long hair. 2 weeks before 7th grade (this year) I got layers and I TOTALLY regret them!! I've had layers and my fucked up side bangs for a while. i usually clip my bangs back. Now this Friday I'm going to get my bangs fixed, and I'm going to cut my hair to shoulder length.
You look way prettier without bangs. Your hair with long layers suits so well your face shape.
I would suggest clip in bangs instead of cutting your hair. Growing bangs out is such a pain, haha.

bangs would look adorable but don't forget to factor in practical things while deciding whether or not to get them.
When I was around 10/11 I had wanted bangs so badly and after a few months finally got them. For some reason they made my hair look even oilier than it actually was and since dry shampoo wasn't available in Malta back then I had to resort to washing my hair way to frequently. And the dandruff... oh my god I hated that I would wake up with loads of tiny flakes sitting on top of my fringe (I have a huge dandruff problem, the fringe just made it all the more obvious)
Then again, these problems are very much dependant on hair and scalp types so they might not affect you (and dry shampoo is a readily available thing in The Netherlands so that problem's eradicated either way)
Ultimately, choose to do whatever you want to with your hair, just take everything into consideration and form a decision. You look great with or without a fringe/bangs. Worry about the tutorials after you've decided on the style you want because either way, there are possibilities for tutorials.
