I remember playing the VG game solo as well. I have this GMT version and made custom VC counters and use a system within excel to randomize hexes. Then place a custom vc counter as a holding position. When I decide to activate the unit or if the U.S. attacks I then take a game counter from a bag, so that the unit type and placement are 100% random each time. Makes game a different experience every time.
wow, another huge Vietnam map, but beautifully designed and some neat track work and chart placement! Very easy on the eyes. Nice overview Moe! Thanks
Yea, a big beauty of a map. GMT did a great job with this one.
I had the '84 version, but I remember it being suitable for solitaire play. Maybe I'm just old now and can't remember the details of play.
Yep, you can solo it, as long as you've got the time! :)
Yea, i played the original solo. It can be done randomizing the VC units attacking.

I liked the original map better, especially the Mekong Delta. This is a great game, although difficult to sim the VC side.
Original map was definitely nice, and I love this one too. Definitely needs another player (or two) to handle each side.
I agree. I love everything that they did with the reprint other than the dull washed out colors on the map.
"It's still a touchy subject for the US in a lot of ways" - Yeah probably for the Vietnamese too
I'm sure it is there as well.
Touchy for the Aussies as well.
Strange?....did they forget the B52s and air Cav?
