The California Mental Health Services Authority, CalMHSA, will cover State Qualifications for Supervision of Peer Workers and Best Practice Guidelines for Employing Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists.
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Gisselle Galloway and Mayra Corral, CalMHSA
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗼:
Gisselle Galloway, program supervisor at CalMHSA's Peer Certification Program, also volunteers at Over the Influence Recovery, a non-profit she founded. Passionate about empowering mothers in recovery from substance use disorders, she works to destigmatize their journey. Embracing the SoCal lifestyle, Gisselle enjoys family time, beach days, painting, and karaoke nights.
Mayra Corral is Workforce Development Program Manager at CalMHSA, where she primarily oversees certification and application processes for the Medi-Cal Certified Peer Support Specialist Program. Previously, Mayra supervised a multi-disciplinary team of psychiatric social workers, case managers and behavioral health aides for Monterey County Behavioral Health Bureau’s Access to Treatment & Adult System of Care Services.

I wasn't able to pass the Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist state certification exam the first time - I took it on Monday and got a 68.75%
