Slab leak. Determine if it's on hot or cold. Find manifold behind water heater or closet fixture where water shows up. Cut lines and look for the one without water. Fishtape through empty line to find the manifold it's connected to. Cut and cap. Run pex up and over through the attic. Tie back a on to fixture. No jackhammering. It's easier and cheaper to fix sheet rock than it is to fix concrete and floor. And it doesn't affect the structural integrity. 15 years plumbing and I have never pulled out a jackhammer or a listening device for a slab leak. Let me plumb with you on a slab leak....

If for some reason all pipes on the manifold or the nearest fixture has water in it then soldier on a pex to copper adapter and set up a gauge with a long pex tail and test each line individually. That's very rare that happens though

I run a pressure washing company on the side and have a hot box and had a plumber call me because a customer had leaking pipes under a concrete slab to heat the flooring so I pumped hot water through the system and they were able to determine where the multiple leaks were with a thermal imaging camera. It was pretty cool to experience but a bad day for the customer.

You fixed 60k worth of water leaks underneath a house? Please tell me this is was sewer/drain?

That would be water and sewer replacement. Both have a roughly 50 year life span. It happens all the time.

@@xNevlosx I think my question has been misunderstood. It was concerning 60k for fresh water. Which I thought was insane. But if it is for both types of slab leaks that makes more sense.

Talk, Talk, Talk OK in some instances but not in a visual presentation. No visuals. no examples, no detail, just talk, talk, talk.

It's a kind of professional talk for people in the industry. Leak detection is very niche even among plumbers. Only the best plumbers typically do it. You know the guys that wash their hands or... can read.

Sorry about that MoJo, I have more videos on my channel about slab leaks that HAVE visuals! Check them out, I hope they help you.
