This was me literally last month, watched Emongg play and it occurred to me that it’s really good to just hit even if you’re not in battle so you could hit Sombra out of invis . It’s a good practice to have to keep you busy

A thing I learned with brig is to always give glances at your teammates even with a sombra on you. Focusing TOO much on sombra can make and break a game as support. You got this!

I’m silver 1 support on console. In my last 20 games, I’ve had to deal with an enemy sombra in all 20. It is genuinely making me not want to play the game.

Honestly fr. Idk why people wanna play her so much this season but it’s really getting on my nerves. I don’t usually struggle with sombras but as a support player having to use like +100,000 brain power just to deal with her makes me so upset
I think Sombra is fun to play, but I only play her if they have a Widow who is just getting free kills because my team is ignoring her or they have a Doomfist or Ball that continually keeps diving me on Ashe. I don't really think she's a fair character to play in 5v5, especially with all the buffs they gave her. Maybe if this was 6v6 and you could rely on peel from a tank, but the majority of the time, you're just on your own.

Yeah same. She goes invisible way too fast when throwing her translocator. She doesnt even touch the ground before she's invis. So annoying... She also always picks the same person over and over and if thats you then you get to have no fun that game :)

Spawn camping on console vs pc has such a large difference. On console it’s way easier for people to get stuck in spawn, cause almost no one escorts. While on pc you can get them stuck in spawn for maybe a kill or two before they get escorted or you die.
That's more rank dependent than platform I'd say, I know in my diamond console lobbies I or my duo would go help escort the camped support back to the fight

I was getting spawn camped today by a duo of DPS players. They literally lost the game just trying to hold me in spawn
It happens in bronze. Such duos usually throw on purpose.
i had a sombra and genji spawn camping me a few days ago. i was a mercy and theyd only kill me, not my teammates running past them. my soldier and moira had to escort me cuz they’d only kill me when i was alone lol. my team completely wiped them because it was a 4v3 the entire match
This happened to me last night. I played Illari was spawn camped all game just for them to type in chat at the end of the game “2 and 17 lmao”. I was pissed to say the least
This is why I turned off my match and team chat. Too many toxic people. It has been a blessing so far lol
I say if you won you won, if you lost the rest of the team just lost a 4v4 instead.
A good sombra can spawn camp and stay in a team fight somewhat to keep it a 5v4 but that is much harder than just spawn camping

Just a quick tip for any support struggling against sombras, they really hate kiriko. Suzu can save teammates from being picked off, and you can tp to other teammates to save yourself. I know kiri's kit is a bit op and stuff, but honestly if they're gonna play like that, they can deal with a kiriko.

You can; it just makes aiming harder when you increase the sensitivity. Unless you're Ana, Illari, or Bap that extra sensitivity won't matter.

At this level you can tank with brig if you know what you are doing. Using corners to behave like Rein, her flail works around corners just like Reins hammer. Use whip shot to keep distance as you have the longest reach melee weapon in the game. I wouldn't say that you should choose to go against a Rein, or Mouga, but if its between letting them run loose and attempting to keep them contained, if you do it right you can win a lot of fights.

@@faxmine if you can keep him at the edge of your flail and whip shot range then it’s ok. But he gets close enough to hit you and he’s gonna roll you. Definitely not something to do with a competent rein. But at the silver and gold level you can often get away with buying time this way and you can even win if you are smart with an ult. But the key is playing corners and knowing when to give and take ground.

The goal is to cancel it, either by shooting or using abilities (random hacks from different directions, distance, timing etc.)
Oh, there's a code similar to this where you can practice canceling Sig ult with Lifeweaver tree!
This is funny because this just happened to me when I was playing. I was playing support and the opposing Sombra would spawn camp me and would target me out of the whole group. I switched from Mercy to Kiriko to Juno. And the whole time she kept on targeting me, she wouldn't even go for my other support. And I play on Switch, so I can't really type out that I need more help with the Sombra. I felt terrible but tbh my whole team was struggling lol
It never mattered what character you picked. that is a skill issue. That's a sombra that discovered they could kill you without too much effort and so it doesn't take a lot of effort to do it repeatedly. It never would have mattered if they were sombra or not either they discovered they could kill you easily, so you became the primary target
I play on Nintendo switch too and had the same issue !! but they stopp spawn camping after getting killed by my tank so they got humbled
I just wanna say, I love these video's and ever since I've been watching them, I've become a better player. I chose Ana and literally kept my cool, changed position with sight in mind and had my first ever "No death Ana game" (we also won, and I had top heals). I have much to work on but you made the game more fun for me and... I'm kinda dangerous now. Thanks Emongg!

This happened to me. I was playing mercy (my main is mercy). The enemy sombraa kept spawn camping me over and over, and I tried defending myself, but I kept losing. My Brig in my team always came back to escort me, and I couldn't get my revenge on the Sombra, but in the end we won.
That Rip-Tire was a mercy that Junkrat had to feel bad to not go for it.
Sombras have been becoming such a huge issue with spawn camping people, support or damage. It's not funny considering that it makes the game unfun except for the sombra player/main.
I'm usually getting the "attack, run, cloak, and repeat" type of Sombras.
It gets tiresome and frustrating really fast.
Not to mention I've witnessed spawn camping happening and I couldn't do a dang thing because the person whom is targeted is taken out too quick.
just remember whenever you get spawn camped to blame yourself
it helps a lot if you tell yourself it was your fault you got spawn camped it'll help a lot in future matches as you can watch the replays and know why sombra killed you

For my console people the best thing you can do for yourself while learning to improve your gameplay is to increase your controller sensitivity. It is basically required after gold. I keep my horizontal sensitivity at 100 and crank my vertical sensitivity at 50 or below depending on the character. This makes it easier for me to lock in my aim at head height while still being able to rotate my character 360 as quickly as the controller allows. The time difference is a huge advantage when dealing with flankers, especially a Sombra.
@@oldiemcfee that’s good to know, I’ve been messing with my sensitivity today and still trying to find the right fit. I wasn’t sure if I should crank it up to 100, but I’ll give it a try
@@Scordizzy Play around with the setting and see what works for you. Just keep in mind if you are not used to high sensitivity it will feel awkward for a few just give yourself time to adjust to the changes.
Ive been struggling with sombras lately and I'm okay at brig. This gives me some good tips :) i usually play kiriko but half the time im dead before I can use either of my abilities and occasionally the abilities dont work for whatever reason? I must get killed in between the animation and the effect happening somehow. I feel like brigs shield would take lot less time to think about for me than those abilities... maybe. Whenever Sombra is a strong character the games feel horrible to play still though.

In my personal experience, Kiri is my go to against a sombra that’s focusing me. Even more than Moira. After I swap Kiriko they typically leave me alone
Maybe you could do a serie, its a bit longer format but that you watch a clip of them and then coach them for one game or two to explain to them and it will show how your direct advise works. Great vids emong❤
one thing i will say about that ult in front of mauga, she lost her sheid which she got back when she ulted. so she may have been killed by the mauga and sombra. :)
Brig can be great against Sombra... If you're good with Brig. The problem is, if you dont have lightning fast reactions to swing your shield to block the hack or if you're not good with swing/whipshot combo, you're not going to get value with Brig against a Sombra who doesn't have to really do anything but hit a few buttons to roll you. I also have to question if they listen to the horrible advice i've seen other T500 players give which is "just keep swinging all the time". I don't know who started this advice but it's absolutely horrible and especially if you're starting new on Brig, standing out in the open constantly swinging is going to get you killed so much. It felt like that's what they were doing a lot, just standing around. Keep your shield up if there's a Sombra. Less buttons to press if all you have to do is spin around. You can also use the third person perspective you have with your shield up to peek around corners without actually having to put yourself around said corner.
Big tip, bind "I need help" to an easy to reach button. As soon as you get dived by anything, spam "I need help" "I need help" "I need help". This is great for making your team turn around and pay attention.

I personally dont struggle too much with sombra, but im sorry this is just such a sh1tty thing to do to someone. Why is there a hero in the game whos core design is to ruin the game for others. This person isnt good enough yet to deal with a sombra, so it really rubs me thr wrong way that someone is able to just pick a perma invisible hero and make it so someone literally cant play the game. Thid persons team has been fight 4v5 for an entire point because of bad hero design and flawed competitive design. Get Sombra out of competitive play, period. There is absolutely nothing skillful or competitive about a perma invisible hero that can press a button and hack all your abilities. I generally have the "skill issue" mindset, but this is just so bad for the game that people are allowed to do this in a competitive gamemode.
I dont understand why invisible sombra is invincible against moiras damage. Thats a typical example of dps getting overbuffed, because its player base cant play the game properly.
Reaction time/speed issue, dude is dead by time he's turned 1/4 of the way around to look at the sombra.

ima be honest. having a perma invisible character is just bad especially since it’s automatic now. it feels like her kit is specifically made to be annoying and i feel like theres so many other things they can do with her to encourage better gameplay strategy
In my little bronze game I held off Orisa for a time as Brig. She's a brick of a character for real. It was my other support, one of the dps and myself and we held off Orisa with me at the front. It was enough for the tank to come back and take over. :D
No words can describe how much I hate spawn camping. It's such a cowardly move, especially spawn camping supports as sombra. I love playing sombra as a flanker, but I would never sink to that level of dps ego. It's not even effective to spawn camp, it's just bully-behaviour.
I got spawn camped by a sombra and genji duo two games in a row in comp recently. Same duo. It was ridiculous, they lost both games because their team had no dps while mine had one. It was really frustrating at first, then I realized not only was there nothing I could do against two of them, but they were going to loose the game because of it.
@1:00~ in general, the moment you hear the hack, hit shift, double jump, and ring the fuck out of there. At low ranks this is right 99/100 times
@2:30 as brig, don't just swing swing swing.... instead, swing, BLOCK, BLOCK, BLOCK, bash, whip/swing.
If your block is blocking damage, that means your first swing is healing you up. You want to kill time to get back to full health, so it is 100% vs 70%~
Provided she is a low level, such a as yourself, she won't have the aim to burst down your shield and you should be able to heal up.
After your shield is just about to break, or you are full health, or inspire is up, use your shield to bash to proc inspire again and go for the swing kill /w whip as needed.

I had a pharah spawn camp me I asked my team for help and they started flaming me same with the enemy team I was playing support and there was nothing I could do they were playing on a alt and knew what they were doing😭

I haven't been spawn trapped in a hot minute. While Brig can be OK so long as you can prevent the initial hack or survive the virus, Kiri is the way to go IMO. Just head to the Sombra and she more than likely will back TF off and if she doesn't you keep going after her head. You have the advantage 100%. You can suzu yourself if you get low. Eventually you'll be within range to TP out.
As a former silver on console this Brig/Juno gameplay was so painful. How were we in the same ELO?
Noticed that their sensitivity is also really low. They seem to only look in one direction as Mercy, and again hardly react when they get shot at. No wonder they were spawn camp, it's not a team issue to babysit someone who has the reaction time of a grandma. Maybe if they looked around more often and react better, they can handle themselves better instead of just waiting to die and asking team to hold their hand.

i'd say practice alot of brig techs and keep trying you'll get better and climb higher
o yea i had i have had a sombra tried that an i reported the sombra for griefing. o boy they got banned an was so salty. it counts as griefing if you spawn kill a single player for over 1 min. now they no play. i went on to just play for the rest of the day. all you have to do is go an kill a diffrent enemy to prevent being banned of griefing. i know there's ways to kill a sombra who try's that but i just said to myself " whelp you don't need to play ow2 anymore hope it was worth it." it's never worth it. did make me smile to know that that somba was banned felt soooo soooo gooood.

@@gamerhelli3027 o yes if its griefing. an griefing has a set requirement for it to fall in to that category. killing the same player for over 1 min at their spawn point or near the first check point in many maps cause then its labled as griefing if it hit over a set number of deaths witch is 5. After that an you get reported the game will watch you an if you keep doing it your account is banned for griefing. for a month or 2 not very long. but boy it is fun to nail dipshits with it.c 99% of the time its sombras cause the invisibility many gert cocky an overstay their welcome setting off the requirements more than any other character. could be why they are trying to rework her invisibility. its easy to avoid just by killing a different player just once.
Gonna be honest, when a team is kinda just acting selfishly and just pressing buttons, I feel like it's not a sombra problem but just all of them

The other day I had a Lucio kill me, and while i was spectating my Cas after i died i noticed the Lucio ignore the fight and run towards my spawn. I figured i was being spawn camped so I poked my head out the spawn doors after I respawned and sure enough, Lucio was there trying to kill me. I started spam pinging and thankfully, both my Cas and my Hanzo saw and came back to kill Lucio and taxy me back to the bot. Looove when teams help you when youre being spawn camped ❤
I dont understand why you are asking him to shield up after he is hacked. The hack prevents you from bringing up your shield. He has no choice but to juke shots or attack.

Spawncamping on console looks too easy, msot of the time they can't turn arround before you kill them.
Yes i main support on console and fighting a sombra is bs i can Run/evade her but that's because ik the map so ik where She is and can evade the damage long enought to get my abilitys back and try to do something to survive but there's a big chance you Will get finished By the vírus damage

i play console games on a extremely high sens and can turn around almost as fast as pc players
@@cemitery Me too, that's more of a low elo thing, adjust your sensitive and get used to the new setting and you can turn fast as a Mnk and if you have a good aim is just GG, I play on Xbox series S, I played with a friend that play on PC and I got the PC lobby for that, I have good aim on controle and know how to positioning, man... I was thinking that play against Pc gonna be a pain, but turn out that was not different to play against what I was already playing against on high rank console matchs, I win more than I lose against Pc players

Why is Sombra still allowed to exist in this game? I know we can't remove her existence because she's a long time character but they should at least change her kit in a way that doesn't make her a perma-invisible, super shredding, hacking nightmare. Perma-invisible might just be fine but not when paired with hacking and super shredding
She's allowed to exist because she isn't actually good in the higher ranks. She's a low rank killer.
On high ping it feels impossible to react quick enough for hack. I play on 280+
Ok reading some of the comments here i honestly believe sombra should be reworked again and removed from comp till she is.
Put her cloak on a timer again
Have her discovery ring increase the longer she's cloaked
Melee ranged virus
Increase the uzi spread
Increase the hack time (cooldown by a lot or cast time)
Decrease health
Any one of these because having two entire roles be unfun to play is not equal to having one hero less fun to play

The idea is to turn fast enough that she doesn't complete the hack. Either way, you get your shield back in a second. Put your f****** shield up

Sombra is why i dont really play anymore. Just not a fun hero to play against or have one on your team. (teammate sombras are hella unreliable in teamfights, they tend to peace out when they take 5 damage lol).

Sombra really isn't that hard to counter at high ranks, the issue is that people just ignore her at lower ranks, leaving her to do what she wants to who she wants, if most teams actually reacted to her and coordinated together she wouldn't be able to do nearly as much - speaking as a sombra main who has to switch off often after enemy teams actually pay attention to me

I only play sombra when they have a widow, ball, doom or OP genji or sometimes a sombra on the other team. Just goes to show how often these picks are appearing recently which is interesting considering that until recently all but widow have been considered widely as pretty mid.
You acting like console players can turn 180* in less than half a second to shield against the Sombra hack. Plus kept shouting at them to shield up while they were already hacked and was unable to do so and their only option is to swing
