The Caprice Classic Brougham series was introduced in 86 and moved The Caprice into the upper medium market. This was done to appease many buyers who were turned off by the front wheel drive Olds 88s 98s and Buick LeSabre's and Electras. Cadillac buyers could opt for the RWD Fleetwood Brougham for their customers who were turned off by the FWD DeVilles and Fleetwoods.
