Wow, great find! This will make someone happy. These were awesome NYC taxi cabs, my friend had a fleet of them running 24/7 and one of them had over 650k miles on it before the motor gave up.
Brings back memories. I took drivers ed on one of these cars. Interior exactly the same as I remember. Me in the drivers seat, my shop teacher and 3 other students in the back seat. Shop teacher had us driving to his favorite restaurants and doing errands with it lol!
It's nice to see one of these that was taken care of and still totally stock. When I think of all the full size GM's that have been cut up and butchered to be pimp mobiles, it makes me sad.
looks like it just rolled off the factory floor ! truly a time capsule from a great bygone era. these boxy big body american cars are what got me falling in love with american cars back when i was just a little kid only seeing those in movies. ii still love them today and anytime i see one of them i can't help but smile. greetings from germany :)
I just got myself a 1990 rust free 80,230 original miles that was garage kept its entire life. Been to one dealership and one mechanic for over 15 tears for regular service. Mine is just the basic trim with crank windows as the previous owner didn't care for all the gizmos and gadgets. Besides for the price I got it for I can't complain. More often than not you see them tore up or a lot of silly stuff done to them. It's nice to see a clean one left alone.
2:07 - The 1990 version was as 'rounded' as the edges of the old 1977 B-Body Caprice/Impala would ever get, lol! and at 1:40 that totally mid-70s dashboard could hopelessly never be modernized, even with the stereo with graphic EQ in the center stack. GM was testing the public's reaction to certain previews of the totally re-skinned B-body(the aero composite headlamps, unified tail bezels, the subtle vertical curve of the grille proper, the flush fit of said grille and headlights into the nose cap, etc.) that had already been finalized in Detroit, and would finally reveal to the public in late summer 1990 for the 1991 model year. Overall, the 1988-1990 Caprice was getting, in my opinion, very close to the contemporary Cadillac DeVille or Fleetwood in terms of roofline and interior luxuries, except in price. Except maybe for leather seats, you could have all the Cadillac goodies - premium stereo, auto climate, landau roof, etc(not all on this subject car of course) - for $5,000 less than the price of an equivalent Caddy in those days.
My mom had a 99 caprice black and red velvet interior with half moon rims and got it for about 3k low miles, she says that was the best car she ever had. Steer good so is all the room and everything else!
It's a carburetor 4 Barrel Quadrajet with a lectronic choke it actually runs very good but the control mixture screws are controlled I rather have the one carburetor that's more manual where I can be the boss
I always liked the box look! Even though the 91+ caprices became some of the fastest with the LT1 in 96, they lost some of their class. I always liked the Caprice emblem as well.
A friend of mine had an 87 caprice very similar to this one. It’s a shame he never took care of it, because if he did he probably still have it. I think he said that by the time he wrecked it, it had 250,000 miles on it or something like that.
Fuck I miss my white 89 Caprice so damn much. So reliable and solid built to last. I crashed it in Chicago coming back from a party drunk and high...Good ol days.
Lots of elements here remind me of our old family Mercury Marquis...rectangle speedo, half-cylinder dome light, handles on the doors, rear ashtrays, column automatic, square window switches, boxy body, square seatbelt buckles, square lights...
@bahasad 1) most era's don't exactly end until after a new era has begun (ie. my dad told me that the 70's didn't end until 1982, and that the 80's didn't end until 1991) 2) it's rated at 170 hp and 255 lb. ft. of tq.
My grandfather had a 78 Caprice - still runs. I'm surprised they kept the overall design for as long as they did - you don't hear of a design sticking around for 10 years much these days, notable exceptions being the PT Cruiser and VW New (1998-2011) Beetle
@CHUUMPASS Haha, greetings from Berlin. Its pretty much exactly the same here. I love those cars (especially the 91 Caprice and other last gen b-bodies, but all cars of that era in general), a shame to see so many of them on the junkyard now. Im hopefully able to buy one in the near future and keep it nice and clean as long as possible. Atleast one or two of them will be saved then.
Kyle are you still using your Canon SD1400IS? I am thinking about picking one up today. Is it easy to upload videos to TH-cam from that camera? Do you still like it?
the 1977-1990 Chevrolet caprice was assembled in Arlington, Texas, United States Oshawa, Ontario, Canada South Gate, California, United States Detroit, Michigan, United States - Clark Avenue Flint, Michigan, United States Caracas, Venezuela
A friend of mine is gonna sell me his. He put a 1973 stingray corvette motor in it. Everything is rebuilt and new except the body which is still in decent shape including the interior
Beautiful beautiful beautiful car. So much personality to this car I fucking love it. Hardly any plastic used in these, the complete opposite of all the econo-shitboxes of the 21st century.
I don't like huge rims at all but I find it racist and immature that everyone bags on that which is a "black" method of customization but when someone puts giant lifts and mud grips on a truck it's considered a positive thing. Grow Tf up people there's multiple niches of customization in the car world..just saying....and I'm black btw
CadillacCampaign I have to agree with you I hate when people say a bunch of stupid retarded stereotypes like they do there's not that many people who are not racist in this world..and im white..and people should feel good based on who they are not be mean to everyone BC of their race I just hate racism in general
Beautiful car man.I love them 87'-90' Chevy Caprices. This one is real clean and fresh
This is still a dream car for me 😔
This is probably the last Caprice Chevrolet ever built that had luxury and the best styling.
And i have one orginal love caprices
Some loved it, some hated it. There's really no such thing as "the best" of something, everyone has their own opinions.
@@dave_riotsDoes the Top go down on this car?
There is something truly amazing about this car!
What a car !!!! Everything about that car is amazing !!!!
I love the way these old boats rock when you rev them.

cadiilac fleetwoods and the chevy caprices were the last big body box cars from GM.
this is a nice piece of history

That car is CLEAN inside and out!
Awesome! Love those older box style Caprices! It's nice that you keep finding them in such good shape! Great vid as always Kyle
Always loved this style and the one that came after this.
God how I miss the early 90s

wish I could find one that looks this good here in Canada.
One of the OG videos
nice car! that would be a great buy for someone. Screw new cars, this is all the car you need right here.
I enjoyed watching your video 🤩🤩 my dad used to have one ☝️ I also noticed this car and the Cadillac Brogham both have rear fual caps
Wow very large trunk . Love these classic cars
Awesome! Gotta love the Caprice!
I like Caprices, but the A-Body will always be my favorite GM car line. I look forward to the day you upload a video of a Celebrity, Kyle.
Beautiful antique
another great caprice video kyle, when ever i see another one in my sub box i get a little excited lol
and this one is in such good shape
My mom had a 99 caprice black and red velvet interior with half moon rims and got it for about 3k low miles, she says that was the best car she ever had. Steer good so is all the room and everything else!
That is impossible since 1996 was the last model year.
***** really? That's what it probably was. But the registration said 99
***** no it's not the caprice was still being sold in other countries after 96 so it depends upon the region.
what a lovely radio!
Hi Kyle .I was really surprise to see that the 90 Caprice has a carburetor .I thought by 1990 it would have been fuel injection .March 10 2019!!

Ah. It's a fantastic radio call-in show on NPR, but I listen to it as a podcast.
its just ...... BEAST!!!
@randomrazr Fleetwoods were on the D body until 1993, when they were moved to the B platform. Basically a stretched version of the B body.
This car and the cressida from toyota are very popular in Saudi Arabia i love it both🤍
Yeah I love those classic lines
