Yes it is proven to help with grip and spin rate on rotation. I always say that in game you do not always have time to set your grip with the seams so be able to shoot without them as well. Practice both with seams and without.
You forgot to talk about loading the wrist vs. loading the wrist too late and how you don’t want your hand directly over the ball because your wrist will be loaded way too late
Yes, that is why I say repeatedly that it’s not one size fits all. This is just how I teach shooting. My players have had unbelievable results following these progressions so that’s what I go with.

Yes, the earlier you get the wrist loaded the better. It’s a common mistake among many young shooters we see it a lot in our trainings.
