the standard minelab equinox metal detector ML 80, ML85 and ML105 headphones are not waterproof, neither is the Equinox WM 08 or Minelab WM09 wireless receiver for the Minelab Manticore, Minelab Equinox 700 and 900 and the Minelab X-Terra Pro, and if you metal detect in the water or Rain with the chance of the head phones falling off or in the rain also this can cause an issue, here is a solution to keep you metal detecting in the rain and the water. problem solved with this waterproof case and in ear monitors

Waterproof for keeping unit safe from rain or very shallow wading, but just like the XP Deus the radio signal does not transmit thru the water when you fully submerse the control box. Get a pair of wired headphones modified with the proper waterproof connector like I did and be safe and productive being able to fully submerge your Equinox underwater.

Thanks for posting. Another option is thee XP Deus makes this whole setup wth earbuds for around $70 on Amazon.
Looks good that Paul, I've only just found out it's better to use the little box instead of just pairing the headphones to the nox, it's only 17ms instead if 40ms with the headphones.

very useful! I have that same pouch minus the headphone jack, it is simply the pouch. I also have a low latency TV Bluetooth transmitter I used on my last detector with some bluetooth headphones. Now I am wondering for wireless underwater sound (Might not be the best) but I can hook the WM08 up to the Nox800 then hook my low latenct bluetooth transmitter to that, then connect a pair of 15$ cheapo waterproof bluetooth earbuds and see what happens. I will try first with my original bluetooth headphones and let you know soon. next few days. great videos.

All the ears in the making and the headphones are not fully waterproof and the sound quality isn't great on them either so a few lads have said good honest video Paul cheers

Good report but the background music was doing my head in trying to hear what you where saying.
Afaik the WM08 uses Wi-Stream Technology, not BT. It's the fastest wireless audio option (approx. half the aptX-LL latency).
The WM08 istself is water resistant, but not submergible.

Nice waterproof addon case for you Minelab folks. That would probably work with the Garrett Zlynk wireless for my Ace 400. But I don't need it with my AT Max. I like the earbud adapter & that head sock, I like that.
If it uses 3.5mm or 1/8inch jack then it will work mate yours has the 2 pins doesn’t it?
Actually it wouldn't work as I think it over because the Zlynk has a transmitter & receiver. You can put the transmitter in your pocket but the receiver attaches to the machine arm IN THE WEATHER.
The must be waterproof already then mate, the standard Garrett ones aren’t though but the blue ones on my seahunter are. I use it on the deus it just makes a non waterproof set of headphones useable in all weathers, we just gone to arctic weather here 😂
I don't think mine are. The Ace 400 machine is just a backup machine with the wireless. I use the Max 100%. Yes a couple other mates I sub are talking about the same temps. Supposed to get 60 degrees tomorrow so I OUT THERE wearing my new vest & Snickers lol.
That water proof bag with the audio cable is a cracking idea Paul, I got one for Foxyju for her phone but it does not have the audio link in it so it's not fully water proof when you plug your earphones in.
I use it with the deus and ctx wm10 aimple cheap and effective

Nonsense. I use mine WM08 underwater. Just unscrewed and put silicot on the rubber. No leaking

Yes ear buds would but if your doing it make sure you look at very low latency ones, or you will find the signal is where the coil was... 11ms is low latency...Paul

Good solution if you want to hunt in the rain or wade in the shallows. It won't work in the deep water. The moment your control box is submerged, you will lose all of your wireless connection to that box. Literally....once it's 1/4 inch under the water your signal is reduced to zero. :/

Hi all I have just got my NOX 800 and apparetly you can pair it phone as well. I can pair phones to my android but can't seem to get both paired.. Any ideas

Paul may I ask which beach profile you're detecting with, and what the Recovery Speed and Iron Bias is set at?
Extropy i just use between the 2 beach program i have adjusted the tone breaks to try and minimise the amount of bottle tops dug up, but havent discriminated anything out.. Paul
Thanks Paul, i'll give them a go. I normally use a CS4PI on the beach but I've been thinking about trying my Equinox 800. I'm liking the idea of discrimination on the beach. With the CS4PI it's very deep, but you have to do a hell of a lot lol
@@extropy1 that's what I've just done; come from a CS4Pi to an Equinox. The lack of discrimination is what made my mind up too. Only had mine today though so I haven't had the chance to use it yet.
@@VengerVideoGamer Equinox is great on the beach. I think my post here was 2 years ago and I sold the CS4Pi about 18 months back. I've been using the 15" coil since it was released, pinpointing takes a little getting used to with the big coil at first but you soon get used to it. I like Equinoxes so much I now have 2 800s. It's saves me disconnecting coils. I just leave 1 with the 11" and one with the 15". Overkill i know, but it saves messing about
@@extropy1 I had it yesterday afternoon and charged it and the headphones. I put it together and paired the headphones, then disassembled it to put in my bag to go down the beach later this morning. I can't wait to take it out, but I know it'll be a very steep learning curve going straight from the CS4Pi to this, so I'm not expecting instant results. I'll just be happy with a couple of coins.
I don't mind corded headphones. Can you just buy a set of water proof ones like grey ghost or something similar?

Good idea! Might not hurt to contact the suppliers like Gold Digger and Kellyco. Might pull some additional weight. I know the Excalibur head phones are waterproof. Do you know what the deal is with the CTX3030? are they waterproof? Doesn't seem like a big stretch to fix it.

I enjoy your videos Paul - keep em coming! My initial reaction to the Equinox 800 after using for just a few hours:
I like it though it does seem coil heavy after using an AT Gold. Finding things mixed between iron in a heavy trash park.
Why would anyone want to use the WM08 ? Its not wireless because it requires corded headphones according to the online manual. I understand it's faster but I tried the wireless headphones without using the WM08 and had no problem with 40 millisecond response. I really don't understand the need or purpose of the WM08 on a detector that's being promoted as submersible.
The in-the-box getting started guide only mentions that up to 4 WM08 can be paired and used simultaneously - why? The online manual also says nothing about when you would want to use it or the benefits other than it's 17 milliseconds - but that isn't worth having to use a cord on the headphones in my opinion. Did I miss something?
If anyone can explain it to me and let me know what I'm not getting I'd like to hear it.

paul cee . Minelad seem to have forgotten about the people including yourself that we put £2000 down for our detectors paul. We are not testers we are run of the mill people so we have to pay . How many updates as the ctx had ? 1 maybe ( salt water settings ) I feel bitter and let down , not with the new nox or the folks that payed out but minelad. Loved watching your beach hunting paul keep up the good work with whichever detector you choose to use..

If your local to the picture in the back ground and are very savvy when it comes to using the nox I will gladly pay anyone 25 pound a hour or so to help me understand ... I also have fields to use but I have one on the cliffs tops what runs all the way to the cliffs which I will gladly meet you at ...if you can help us show us how to use the machine if anyone can please .... I’m country lad with friends and famley that are on farms too ... Just suffered with special needs at school it’s just the understanding I find things Easyer with some one breaking things down for me that’s all .. Thankyou x
