    Very nice new boat with lots of boxes ticked. I like the large walk thru bath, very spacious as well as large Fridge and large holding tanks for water and waste. The stern was well thought out, especially with the demountable tables. I would have opted for either a cross or extendable width bed, and I would add Solar and a Washer as well. This boat will sell quickly I believe.

    Storage space is at a premium on one of these, would make for an interesting B&B set-up or vacation ( holiday for my English friend lol ) rental.. I can see maybe a "Minimalist" living on one.. would absolutely be an experience. Hope the new owner(s) enjoy it! (Hopefully you got whatever caused the electrical fire sorted out..)

    Well laid out, and I don't even mind the huge dinette (though I think I would halve the long side). Bath is fantastic, and uses the limited boat space very well. I can see that some space in sacrificed in the bedroom, but considering that one does not live in the bedroom, that is perfectly logical. Galley is very well designed, with all the appliances needed, yet more counter space than expected. While I'm not 100% with the stern for its looks, I do like the little bit of extra privacy, and safety aspect for pets and small children. The stove in the centerline is unique, and I rather like it. Also, the well deck is quite unique, but I think the wrap-around seating may cause some trouble while casting off or mooring. I see no socket for a table or umbrella either, nor any fittings for a cratch cover assembly. That would be extra cash on top of the total purchase price. Personally, I would simply add the umbrella/table mount, and heck with the cratch cover altogether.
    Beautiful boat, well made, well designed. Fill it up with solar gear and extra domestic batteries, and of we go!

    I love the light wood & the beautiful soft blue kitchen - keeping that color scheme for possible use some day ! The only thing I would say is more space in the 'lounge' are a smaller bathroom because you only go in there for short periods at a time. It's good the bathroom can be shut off completely I hate the walk thru bathroom styles ! A lovely boat so someone will be a proud new owner!

    Love it apart from one small concern - the storage under/behind the steps.....are the handles safe, they look like they could be a tripping hazard to me, I think I’d catch them on both upward and downward manoeuvres- maybe they’d be better if they were countersunk or just magnetic push style ones. On a more positive note there’s loads of room and it’s really modern, practical and stylish - sadly I couldn’t afford one but I can dream lol

      @MrSheckstr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Old question but you wouldn’t want to put a lock on anything containing something combustible like those gas bottles. The other thing is that latches and even more so locks are easily rusted given the very damp environment. Those that prefer storage that lock prefer car top style plastic storage unit that get mounted on the roof that come with locks designed to withstand the elements.
      All that being said I’m sure there are those that as a preference have latches and locks installed, but thievery along the canal system is something those whose business promotes the lifestyle prefer not to advertise

      I doubt there has been a fire. They used a bit of marked wood knowing that it would be covered by a fake front to match the steps below but it seems they removed it to fit the engine covers locking mechanism and never put it back. I expect it is in the workshop somewhere waiting for a hole to be drilled in it!

      @@vonasi2 No. Look when inside cupboard to left. Scorch marks on the back piece and small ledge/higher base piece. Parallel, horizontal linear scorching on both sections. Near electrics, which cables run behind. Steps, scorching runs to behind that same cupboards, small piece of trim covering.

The storage cupboards under the rear deck seating don't appear lockable, cupboard doors in the bedroom aren't fitted properly and don't close either, I think it's about time they swapped over to European hinges as in kitchen cupboard type with soft close, and the stern deck seems so very high compared to others I've seen, not necessarily a bad thing, I like the bow deck alot, but the quality issues in the fit out have Pretty much changed my mind about considering a Colecraft boat, so thank you for that.

      It may one of two things: either it's reclaimed wood or, that is a natural darkening from water stain as the wood was stacked outside for too long. Running it through the mill just made it look burnt. On the other hand, perhaps the boat works burned down around the hull...

      It looks to me that they used a bit of wood that had either been burnt or has water damage knowing that it would be covered up by a fake drawer front to match the other steps but they never fitted it due to the engine cover locking mechanism.

      @@ianc1097 certainly a different quality to life and one that can be enjoyed. Appreciate that boats depreciate unlike a home which retains its value. But when you consider a home is typically bought with a mortgage; that has interest payable and monthly running costs (not to include the upkeep of renovations), a boat can look like a solid investment. I wouldn’t be surprised if this boat has a fairly stable resale value, in the years to come. The market is quite strong which I would say has come from the media coverage here in the UK. Amazon and BBC have all had various endorsements to promote the lifestyles. You should look at the boat before this one; Oakums.

    Looking at all those burn marks you have to wonder if the leisure batteries (I wonder if they were Lithium) caught fire? Built for an owner who refused to take delivery of a faulty boat? There is a lot of wood there to be replaced, and the wiring will all need checking. That will cost a lot of money to check and rectify. Can't see any easy place to put a washing machine either.

    • @johnnycarrotheid
      @johnnycarrotheid 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think you may have hit the nail on the head.
      The burn marks are likely enough to put off someone taking delivery, but compounded with all the minor quality issues, added up together, most people are going to have serious questions about purchasing this.
      £115k and needing to sink more money into it, solar etc and making space for washing machine that should be built in.
      Too much imo

    Looks stunning but looks can be decepetive. This boat comes with a hefty snagging list, the much mentioned burnt step, unlockable lockers, no kitchen drawers, no washing machine and no space to put one unobtrusively, tiny shower cabinet considering the spacious bathroom and very little hanging space in the bedroom, no proper wardrobe as such. Love the woodwork and demountable double tables and the sensible option pump out. Why is there this dreadful fad for painting boats grey? Drab and dreary. This boat could have been stunning with a bit more time and thought spent on it. For the price you'd expect that.

    narrowboats will sell faster than ever this year as a lot of people made a lot of money on bitcoin when the price of bitcoin doubled towards the end of 2020 in november and december 2020 and the tech stock rally earlier on in the year plus a lot of people will have been made redundant in 2020 which will mean they either need to get a job pr sell the house buy a narrowboat and not need to work so the competition this year for narrowboats will be very competitive and i wouldnt be surprised if narrowboats arent selling for above asking price

      House prices have took a hit. The only ones buying are buy-to-let owners at the moment. People are scraping through the current trouble as selling atm is probably getting back less than it was bought for.
