I think the nylon liner is fine. It's nice to the contents, adds some waterproofing, and is light weight. All that leather adds weight, and if you're lugging it around, it gets hesvy fast.

I've had it for a year now. The dark chocolate brown color. A fantastic bag, on par with Hermes, Prada , Gucci or LV, for a fraction of the price. It has real presence. People are staring at it with awh and are not sure why the brand does not ring a bell. This is, in my view, for people that like maximum quality without the 'show off' and without selling their kidney to pay for it.

    • @someoneonyoutube1993

That's what you say. People kill for $50 and give a kidney for $500. So maybe $590 is for you spare money. Good for you.

I've owned this bag for about a year, and so far the quality is awesome! Holds up great, easy to clean. Kindof wish I would have gotten a bit larger bag to more easily fit water bottle, etc, but the craftsmanship and durability is 100% on-point. For a smallish slim briefcase, this is tops.

For the people commenting about the nylon lining. I have used this bag as a daily driver for work since 2017 when it first launched and when you chuck a laptop in there, some paperwork, some random tech, maybe a powerbank and whatnot, it gets awfully heavy. I would NOT want even more weight. I also have the bigger brother Palissy 25h and that one gets too heavy, even if you don't fill it up. Which is why I only used it a handful of times and now it is collecting dust.

@@D3vtsb No, it does bleed if you keep things that tend to be moist (e.g. a water bottle, even well-sealed) in your bag, if your hands, going in and out of the bag, are prone to sweating a lot... • @Joseph_yy
      @Joseph_yy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I just checked their website, the dress shoes is resoleable, some of them are full-grain leather, the ones with heel do have shank and their sole if from some well-known brands. So I would take a educational guess and say they’re decent quality shoes. At least better than Cole haan and rockport. Plus they’re made in Portugal unlike other “sneaker dress shoes” that are made in china. So if you’re looking for soft and comfy dress shoes I will say go for it. Hope this helps!

Yes, I've used watches for years and searching for decent leather watch straps at a reasonable price has been a journey, (very expensive when you add up everything). They sometimes overstretch/break at the holes, they're mostly not full leather they're pressed leather at the top and some sort of canvas, rubber or lining against your skin. Also, "Genuine leather" varies a shit ton in quality and if you search for high, top or full grain sometimes its just fake. I could go on for days on this subject and different brands.

Yeah, you can tell the fella complaining about the lining not being leather is completely new to briefcases. Leather lining - even a quality one - does bleed if you keep things that tend to be moist (e.g. a water bottle, even well-sealed) in your bag, if your hands, going in and out of the bag, are prone to sweating a lot... Maybe leather lining is good for wallets, but when it comes to briefcases/bags, it’s safer (and lighter) to go with the nylon lining. A 100% full-grain leather bag (especially the double Plissy that CF sells) would be way too heavy and burdensome for a man who actually walks with it. They have to be functional, not just be statement pieces.
Not to mention that a leather lining is INCREDIBLY difficult to clean; a canvas lining, in turn, absorbs any ink or fluid coming from a pen or whatever you keep in your bag, thus damaging the outer leather. Nylon, on the other hand, keeps the leather well insulated, is lighter and much easier to clean.

I think lining choice would depend on if you are looking for a bag to keep for a really long time or just a nice piece to use for awhile. If I was looking for really long term use to possibly hand down one day I would prefer leather lining. If this was just one of many that I used as the mood struck then I think nylon is fine especially since it's lighter and more easily cleaned. Only downfall I see in nylon is that it's plastic and if you're plastic adverse then canvas would be a better choice. Overall I think it's just a choice like the upholstery in your car and doesn't really diminish the value very much.

I actually prefer the Nylon inside, it's light so when you open the bag up it's easier to see. Plus, less leather that I have to worry about conditioning.

I think the zipperless pocket on the front is a little difficult to get into simply because if you've just chucked your keys in there for convenience they're less likely to fall out.
I see it more of a temporary pocket. You wouldn't put important stuff in there for the whole day, just a quick fix.

  • @tplambert

I don’t mind the nylon. We had shops in the UK like ‘world of leather’ where I feel it’s a little cheapened. Nylon provides a nice alternative interior.

You should totally cut a Coach bag apart. I have had a couple of bags from them, and they last amazingly well. Their prices are easily comparable to this briefcase.

7:55 Tokonole/gum also cracks, and not after 2 years. On items like wallets tokonole won't even last a couple months. Plus paint can be easily reapplied cause the edge is preserved. You won't be able to do much with edge finished with tokonole which started to worn apart.

So, while I agree about the leather lining in theory, I purchased (a-bite a far cheaper) messenger bag and it had the leather interior, which in my case turned out to be the interior side of the main leather bag construction (although quick thick and substantial). I ran into (2) issues with this build. Firstly, the interior leather stained folders and paper that I stored in the messenger bag, and it even stained the corners of my MacBook pro. The second reason was that the bag had major issues standing up with no laptop in it to give it that firm structure. So my preference would likely be to have a cotton fabric liner in place of that nylon, just as nylon is very cheap looking on that bag and really brings down the look and ascetic. of it.
