@@ninetailedfox579121 honestly, this is the craziest part. It basically means that we get Cooper on a one year rental (probably the last big deal of his career, so he's gonna want stupid money) but I'm ok with it.
This is a great move. Decent size proven receiver paired with existing weapons and the improving run game makes the offense look like it's going to be ok.
Our record through 6 games this year is 4-2. Guess what our record through 6 games last year was? And we could have very well beaten Houston is we hadn't played so poorly on offense.
This is what I wanted since Diggs left. Give Josh all the weapons. Keon and Kincaid can really turn into something. But I want some Pro-Bowl caliber receivers for Josh, right now. He's #1 in QBR already this season. He's going to go lights out. And Amari needs this. 3 years in the sunken place...he's going to ball out now that he's free.
Agree with the sentiment, but with Cooper they have a very good top to bottom WR room. They were just short one real 3 level boundary threat. Cooper puts everyone in their ideal roles schematically. Top 4 of Cooper, Shakir, Coleman, and Samuel is on par with just about anyone. Then you factor in the TEs and RBs and it's a top 5-6 group.
Yeah every team has their warts this year. Buffalo couldn't really expect to make a deep playoff run without a proper field stretcher on the boundary. They weren't without talent there, but they didn't have the proverbial head when forming their Voltron on offense. This pushes everyone into their ideal roles. Big cascade effect.
Not only does it give Josh a legitimate #1, it also lines the other receivers into their natural positions. Instead of Shakir playing the one, he can slide into the slot, or the #2. Same with Coleman, big slot, or the Gabe Davis big #2. It also opens the middle of the field for Kincaid. So it's not only are we adding 1 legit WR1, the rest of the receiving weapons get better.
