Nothing remains greyed out, but the highlight is still there.
I am working on filtering/removing filters across dashboards... and having that highlight acts as a selection (preventing user from making a different choice on the other dashboard) even though we have covered the grey selections

So, that is a nice feature. What about the reset button itself? i notice it stays highlighted as well when you click it. Mine does that and it will not remove the highlight until i click it again.

Hey Anthony, thanks for the video. The removal of the highlight is great, but one thing that bugs me is that the button still looks selected even when the highlight and filter are both cleared. Any thoughts on that?

I don't have a step by step video build for this dashboard (those take a lot of time to make) but you can find my Tableau Public page and download the workbook for reverse engineering.

I am having 3 dashboards with global filters (with drop down). This visual filters removing highlights effect is only working with the single dashboard visuals, but the global filters are not updating (showing all values). How to make our disabling highlight functionality to effect the global filters as well?

Your videos are helpful, but please get to the point faster. It took you four and a half minutes to begin your tutorial.

Thanks for the comment. In my videos I typically showcase what I built AND share FREE knowledge.

It's not necessary to be passive aggressive. You earn money from TH-cam, and we pay for your earnings with our time by watching ads. You're not being altruistic.

I assure you, the time to money ratio is not worth it if I cared about money. This channel is my after work creative outlet. Best of luck to you on your next video experience.

If you have your dashboard half built and you are looking for a specific solution, I agree it can get impatient times before getting to the exact solution/bit of information you need.
The creator does not know what YOU need, and will create content for the wider audience to better provide context.
And this type of content (non-entertainment type) is not designed for views (read revenue), its meant to share knowledge. The ownness is on the seeker to find what they need.

@@AnthonySmoak, ah don't mind me. I'm bent out of shape working with people who want to "Excel" with Tableau.

    • @AnthonySmoak

I've felt your pain. Many stakeholders believe that Tableau means automated Excel tables in lieu of visualization. It becomes an opportunity to educate if possible.

      @@AnthonySmoak absolutely! Agreed.
