Hazard Sky 2 Inch Jeep Cherokee KL Lift Install!

  • Well I finally finished installing the lift! It all in all wasn't to difficult. It took me around 4 hrs in all to install both front and rear. This video ended up a lot longer than I was really meaning for it to. I know for myself I've watched a few videos on installing lifts on the Jeep Cherokee KL Trailhawks but didn't see the level of explanation that I wanted. My Cherokee is a 2015 Trailhawk. I hope this video answers any questions you have about installing a lift on the Cherokee KL platform. If you have any questions or comments then hit me up in the comments section.
    This install is the Hazard Sky 2 inch lift/level kit. One of the things I wanted to see was what the measurements were on ground clearance before and after the lift was installed. I ca say I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. You can see those measurements towards the end of the video. I also took some footage off road before the lift was installed and after with a short walk around. That is also at the end of the video. One thing I'll say is make sure you plan on getting an alignment a soon as possible after you install a lift. It felt like I was driving on tip toes. Weird feeling.

    Great looking Jeep and great video. I just got my MFC lift and will be putting it on tomorrow. I think I have watched every video on TH-cam about installing them and your's is by far the best, most realistic, video out there.

    We just installed the 2 inch lift with the pinch weld, on my 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk from Hazzard Sky, very glad we were able to reference your video, It still took 4 hours, and very happy with the results. I noticed no drivability issues, not even a slight vibration at freeway speed after the install but will have the all wheel alignment completed this week. thank you for the the Videos !! Hazzard Sky customer service is awesome, I did call in with a few questions prior to the install and they mentioned the Wheel Centering kit in not necessary on the 2019 and newer Cherokee's, so they deleted that from my order.

    You are mechanically inclined sir! Your right, these things do require patience :) thanks for filming it and the step by step because now I have the confidence to do it myself (ordered my kit today for a 2019 trailhawk). Glad you found it helpful. I tried to use the spring compressor on it but found it to be pretty difficult to get it position due to lack of room to position it. Great video! Thank you so much for the clear instructions. I haven't received my kit yet, but it appears your install only included one reinforcement collar per strut. On the HS website, there is a picture that clearly shows two reinforcement collars on a strut. Does the kit only include 2 collars? I feel like it would make more sense to reinforce that gap completely instead of leaving a space between the collar and the strut.

    Hey ! So I’m still new to owning a Cherokee and. Really want to get a lift and some bigger tires. If you don’t mind I would like to pick your brain about why you choose the hazard sky over mfc, and when u do the punch weld mod it’s only the front to tires correct ?

    • @MootsKLAdventure
      @MootsKLAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey yeah you bet. I went with Hazard Sky over mfc mainly due to price in the end. Their really isn't much to the lift so I wasn't really concerned with any type of you get what you pay for on this lift. If you really have strong feelings towards keeping the front on lower than the rear then mfc is the only one that lifts both front and back 2 inches. HS ends up leveling it out with more of an 1.5 inch lift in the rear. As for the pinch weld you only need to do the front. Hope that helps.

      It's definitely the best bang for your buck as far as lift kits for the KL. As for longevity or possible wear on some of the other components, I'm sure it will have some long term effects. But that happens with pretty much any vehicle that you modify. It's a risk you take. Their are a lot of people running 2inch lifts on these without real large long term issues so not to worried

I can't wait to put some rubber on it to see what a difference makes. Biding know if I can fit 265 because I'm an inch lower than yours from factory. What do you think? Should I just do 31s to play it safe?

      Hahaha. Glad it's been useful. If I was you I'd probably go smaller than what I've got. Its pretty tight in there overall so any less height I'd probably just play it safe.

      No. Handling was the same after I got an alignment. That's a must after installing the lift. But it really doesn't change the Handling.

    • @MootsKLAdventure

      @@CodyJohnson_ccj Hazard Sky only offers the 2" kit as a lift/leveling kit. It lifts the front by 2" and the rear by 1.7". The only front and rear 2" lift kit available that I know of is through MFC. If you want to 3" you can add the Dobinson suspension to the Hazard Sky or MFC kits. You can buy that through MFC and Rocky Road Outfitters and possibly elsewhere. Hope that helps.

    Maybe I'm dumb... dont understand why you had to drill the flange? The spacer has nothing to do with it. Watched a guy put on a rough country and nothing to the flange. By the way Albanese is right now the road from me lol installed some......security systems for them. Have a great day

    • @MootsKLAdventure
      @MootsKLAdventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So when it comes to the flange you don't have to drill through it if you want to just tear it off. The reason you have to do that is because the bolt you take out that holds the strut, it's hole is covered up by the flange once you lift it. So you just need to uncover it by removing or drilling through.
