I can't express how sad the Monica-Richard breakup made me. I really think he was an amazing boyfriend for her. He got her and her quirks. I understand why they had to end, though. 😢

Monica and Richard's breakup is for me one of the saddest moments in the whole show. Over the years, watching the series over and over again, I've learned to love Monica to the point that she's become my favorite character, despite her flanderization. I suppose it's partially due to Courteney's amazing and underrated acting.
I don’t think she was flanderized. More she got sidelined so her most memorable moments in later seasons are jokes, there was little big storylines. But she had similar jokes in early seasons. Like here with her and Richard and the quirk discussion in this episode!
Yeah. Age difference romances are usually pretty creepy in shows/movies (for obvious reasons) - but the writing here is really good. Like they have real, believable chemistry and Richard is acting reasonable and devoted, treating Monica as an equal.
He may understand her, but I mean, that can happen after knowing someone since they were a child 💀 I can’t get past it lmao Richard is a major creep to me 😭😂 and I feel like I’m the only one who gets thrilled when they break up cause I sometimes have to skip the Richard episodes 🤷♀️

I just wanted you to know something about Matthew Perry. His step dad said that his character on the show was like he was in life. Plus if you watch the friends reunion. He even says it himself. Him making the audience laugh was a must for him and if he didn't he felt like a failure. He had to be the best at everything and if he wasn't then he really struggled and best himself up over it
About Monica and Richard, it was kind of inevitable. They never had the 'talk' but Monica was always clear that she wanted kids and then there was Richard talking about his grown kids and grandkids. Monica was very mature in that moment, even more so than Richard (even though his intentions were good). She knew he was just settling and in the long run it wouldn't have worked. Still sucks. On another note, I never understood why they were at the wedding. They didn't know Barry or Mindy. Monica wasn't even at Rachel's wedding to Barry. What is that?! Also, Barry is the same actor but Mindy is a different actress. And imagine spending your own wedding reception trashing your ex. Rachel dodged a bullet with that one.

So people who were born after the years could get the vaccine when you was a baby and never had a chicken pox at all. For me, the chicken pox episode was the first time I realized how old this show is 😆
Man, I feel left behind. Here in Finland it got added to the National Vaccine Program only in 2017, and so I had The Pox. In fact, eventually the whole class did, but I got itchy 15 minutes before a circus came to our school. I had to miss it and then sit outside and wait for dad to pick me up. Still sad about it

In my friend group, when we were about 15, it was totally normal for all of us to try out kissing etc with members of the same sex. Guys tried it, girls tried it, trans people tried it... it was just testing out what we liked. If a guy kissed another guy it wasnt something to even blink at. Granted i was born in '93 so its a *bit* different, but homophobes were usually seen to with a deserved broken nose.
