Hi Cruisers, In this Panama Canal Cruise vlog it's day 5 aboard the beautiful Caribbean Princess and we are in Cartagena Colombia. The day starts off nice and early, and we catch a bus right to the walled city to kick off our horse drawn carriage excursion. It was a fun but short ride. We stopped at Iglesia de San Pedro Claver for about 30 minutes or so, and got to look around this historical area. There is lots to see, and lots of people and activity. Next we hopped back on the bus for a quick 10 minute photo stop at Castillo San Felipe de Barajas. This very cool, and honestly we found ourselves wishing this is where we had spent our day. After that quick visit we were back on the Caribbean Princess, and headed to the Crown Grill for some pub lunch. My son and I spent a little time painting posters for Panama Canal, and then it was sail away and dinner. It went by so fast!

We had an overnight in Cartagena in November and I’m so glad we did! It’s a wonderful city. Lots to see and do! We kept busy on both days. And on the first day we took a ship excursion that didn’t get us back to the ship until 1am. One of the best excursions we’ve taken!

You always do such a fantastic job with your videos. So much relevant information with a perfect amount of reality. Bathroom struggles are a real problem for the coffee drinkers! I find myself waking up early every time we are planning on making a long morning drive so it isn't an issue. Looks like a great way to spend the day there.
Ginger Johnson if are coffee drinker and water drinker or just have a small bladder it could be an issues. Good too know

we canceled our Southern to st.martain due to hurricane
so glad your showing where we are going next jan.

Great video and reminded us of our trip there and the canal with our kids in 2011. What struck us the most about Cartagena was the new city skyscrapers and the old city. Loved seeing the historic church again and the fort. Our family love it too. Thank for sharing.

It is so nice to see your video of the place that I just visited! Mr. Cruise Tips TV does such a nice job of editing out all the people in the photo. He makes it looks a lot less crowded than it was. IMO traffic was so heavy in Cartagena that took up a lot of time. My excursion did visit the San Pedro church and a museum where there was a model of the fort. Our guide noted that Romancing the Stone was filmed there. I can't wait to see your Costa Rica port day since our cruise had to sail by because of port issues. Something about it being too rough to dock. Ship the day before broke 6 lines. So we had a sea day.

It looks like the major cruise lines that stop in Cartagena are only there for 6 hours. It's either 6:30 to 12:30, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. I wonder why?
I have seen from really cool shopping in this port put I have a practical question: as I listened to your vlog, I know the ship had several propulsion issues. Making the port stops shorter...I love Princess, but since it is a technical issue, would Princess credit you for the short port stays?
I was so looking forward to Cartagena as one of the highlights of my just ended 20 day cruise from Seattle to Miami. Unfortunately, myself, along with dozens of others, spent much of the cruise quarantined in my cabin while battling Covid.
Crossing Cartagena off of my list of must see ports, unless I plan on packing my Depends!! Actually, it never was on my list - could definitely pass up all those carriages, all that traffic, all the hustle & bustle & the strange clown-like person with your mom (amazing that she was still smiling)!! Liked the view as you sailed away from Cartagena!! Loved your pigtails & little dudes Panama Canal poster!!
Depending on your excursion you may get a bathroom break. Mine did.
Cartegna was our worse experience with street hawkers attacking our group trying to sell anything. Furthermore the Princess ship departs so early, we were not able to enjoy the local cuisine. We were very disappointed.
First off, I love, love, love your videos! I have spent SO much time these last two days trying to get as many of your videos watched!! My husband and I are looking at taking a cruise to the Caribbean Jan or Feb of 2019 for our 10th anniversary!!! What would be your recommended cruise line to take?? We would like to keep the pricing reasonable and yet have the time of our lives! We're not party animals mostly just quite folk. Also we have thought about seeing the Mayan ruins. Where would be the best port for those? And is it worth an 8 hr shore excursion to see them? Thank you in advance for any advice or help!!!

Is there a time frame for traveling to Mexico or the Caribbean when you are least likely to get bitten by mosquitos? The cdc still warns about Zika in the Caribbean and Mexico.

I have been soaking up all of your videos over the last several weeks, and have learned so much from them. Thank you for taking the time to put these together, especially for those first-time cruisers out there like myself. My sister and I are going on an Alaskan cruise on Princess in July, and we are trying to book our excursions ahead of time. One excursion we really want to do gets us back to the ship at 730pm and the ship departs at 8:30pm. We currently have a 6:00pm dining time. What happens if you book an excursion that gets you back to the ship after your scheduled dining time? Are there usually other restaurants open late that you could go to instead? If you book your excursion through the cruise line will they still leave you behind if the excursion doesn't get you back on time?

... 2021 now ... hope you loved your cruise... looking at 2023 to book Princess cruise now... but Panama here I come ...bring on the heat the ship has A/C ... if you prefer the MDR check out the open/close time ... Medallion embarkation now a days may get you on board early enough ...
