I'll say this.. you're not "wrong," but also, YOUR way isn't the ONLY way which people love to think. Hell, there's a reason for the saying "my way or the highway"
We all definitely need structure and discipline to become productive, responsible, and functioning adults in society. I come from southern old school asswhooping discipline, me and the homies was just reminiscing on how we used to have to go pick our own switch off the bush to get whooped and not come back with no little twig or it'd be worse!😂😂 I'm all for that it worked for me, but not everyone learns the same, the same tactics don't work all across the board.
Me & my brother were totally different he was getting whoopings every day he was just hard-headed and 1 of those that HAS to do what you said not to it was like an itch that had to be scratched, but even today as grown men he's still like that. Warning labels doesn't do it for him he HAS to go through it and see the consequences happen to him to get it. He could see 5 people run in front of a car and get hit and think "it won't happen to me." I was the type to see those 5 people and go "nah let me try to go another way"😂 sure I got whoopings as well, but the difference is they were never for the same thing like my brother, nor were they for something I'd already seen HIM get in trouble for. I learned from his mistakes that made me not want to do it or at least not do it the same way thinking "I won't get in trouble though." Like all the criminals who say "yeah but they did it wrong I'm gonna do it differently" but still get caught nonetheless.
For big bro his thinking was "I'm not going to get caught so I'm not thinking about an asswhooping"
MY thinking was "I'm not doing that BECAUSE I don't want an asswhooping.
I have noticed as well that with literally ALL my friends/good friends from middle school on up I'm the only single solitary one who's never been arrested for anything(out of all black, white, Mexican races) while they've all done time with minimum of half a year/year. And we all came from the same circumstances: poor, same education, same home environment, etc. The only difference was me and my brother got whoopings none of my friends ever did, and I can say they didn't look at jail as such a terrible thing. But me? Shidd 1st off I wasn't scared to go I was more scared of the asswhooping mama or pops would put on me then all my uncles would get on my ass for. And 2nd mama scared me straight just saying I couldn't do my 2 favorite things which was eat whatever and whenever I wanted and play video games😂😂😂 shiiiid jail wasn't ever a serious thing for me after that! But raising our kids now they mostly aren't like how we were when it comes to discipline, my oldest is about to graduate and she's never even needed a voice raised at her. She just gets it she does what she's told, she's never tried to buck the rules, talk back, she's never gotten anything less than an A on her report cards, so I don't know if it even counts that she's yad "discipline" because there was never a time where she had to be told why she has to do something an adult told her or be "reasoned with"
      Now her little sister? 😒
Totally different smh she's never needed a real whooping/spanking yet but she definitely gets talked to more none could ever be considered what we called bad and needed whoopings.
But I also worked at my aunt's daycare when I was younger and boy I know that some bebe kids just need they ass QUWHIPPED!!!!
They just do. Not beat on em like they a grown adult I think some people lump all corporal punishment into "child abuse" and it's not the same. We ain't talking jumping on a kid because they were being kids and just got a little loud, or spilled food on accident things that are just innocent child things. We talking learning them RIGHT FROM WRONG, so when they go in the world with people other people who don't care nothing about them won't have to teach them the hard way not to act the way they do.

However, my parents were both college graduates and their parents (my grandparents) were hardworking people with homes, etc. So Vlad has a point. It just means that had slavery not occurred, Black Americans who moved here would’ve rarely resorted to whippings to punish their children. For example, my African friends who grew up getting whoopings and moved to the US, never whoop their kids. Despite growing up with whoopings daily, they have never whooped their kids.

It's funny how people look color don't want to be parents and do the right thing when the right thing is needed and it explains why there's so many criminals of color we're talking about people who make up 13% of the population in and out of that 13% a good percentage of them the main percentage of them criminals

This debate is not about the right topic or subject. Its about fathers in the home 100%! It has nothing to do with slavery! Its not about a time period. Some blacks were free. Not all blacks were enslaved. They are debating and arguing something they cannot possibly know about.

But I don’t think Vlad is missing his overall point. Getting your butt whip is a prevalent theme in the black communities. Micheal is talking about a deeper level of history while Vlad is just rushing to present or future of things. Of course things and people evolve but it didn’t start like that from the start.

@vincentscott2009 And Vlad is saying getting your butt whipped is prevalent in poor communities. Which Michael agreed with, when he says "poor whites and poor blacks are basically the same" Then he just started talking in circles with no point at all.

This is were vlad loses me! He is obviously clueless about the point that Michael is trying to make. It’s been scientifically and psychologically proven that trauma is past down through genectics. He also tried to compare white familes from the 1800’s or whatever to that whipped their kids to 400 years of lashing by cruel and inhumane people who deemed other humans who only had a different color of skin non human. That’s actual comical in a sense that he actually use that as a comparison. He also tried to say Africa or Africans were naturally violent and were constantly at war. I don’t recall anywhere in history that states that Africans were always at war before a specific period of time. That’s more of a modern times thing in my opinion. Which can also be considered propaganda.
